DIE LODGE UND DIE KABINE VERMIETEN NICHT GETRENNT, WENN SIE SICH IN DER NÄHE ENTSPRECHEN. DIE KABINE IST WENIGER ALS EIN HUNDERT FUSS VON DER LODGE, SIE WIRD VON EINEM BELEUCHTETEN PFAD VERBUNDEN. Jun 2022What a beautiful ranch property. We had our yearly friend reunion here this year. We spent most our time on the deck, with the weather being so nice, but also wandered down to the river a few times and made it into town to taste some wines, and up the hill for a lunch at Cold Spring Tavern. As others have said, the photos don’t do this place justice. The outdoor fireplace was a lovely spot to sip some wine and the gorgeous living room provided a nice adjacent indoor social space. I was able to sleep in the cabin and what an amazing night sleep. Would highly recommend. Weiterlesen

Sep 2019We loved this property. It is close to Solvang and Santa Ynez, and yet you can enjoy the tranquility of what feels like your own private valley.
We enjoyed the open feeling of the lodge and the western theme of the furniture and decorations. The setting was so delightful that we elected to BBQ at the property rather than go out to dinner so we could spend the afternoon out on the deck.

Apr 2021We had a group of 8 friends who stayed for the weekend. This house (and the guesthouse) is tucked away in a quiet little meadow. It was just as it had stated, clean, comfortable and beautiful. We could not have been more pleased and I look forward to going back! Weiterlesen

Mar 2021This tranquil location is a beautiful setting to relax in. I loved watching the sun rise above the surrounding mountains.
The setting provides easy access to nearby wineries, great restaurants, and outdoor activities.
For a family it offers plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. It is well equipped so you can grill outside or cook inside.
After a day of activity is was nice to return home and sit in front of a fire and relax.

We had the most amazing time at Andrew’s ranch in July. . We were two families who needed socialization and connectivity in these trying times. Both families got Covid tested and came together to this amazing location that was off the grid. Working 50-60 hours as an RN the ability to get away from it all and to such a beautiful home and location.
Coming on the property you immediately sense this is a secluded space. The house is truly special from each piece of unique decor to the floor to ceiling windows in the living area, to the amazing deck that you never want to leave. The beds had amazing linens and we slept so well.
It was super hot during our time here 103 degrees, but we either escaped to the beach for the morning or went wine tasting or just hung out inside playing games in the air conditioned comfort. In early evening we were amazed at how quickly it cooled down to low 60s and we could sit on the deck and enjoy some wine by the fire place enjoying the stunning views. We saw and heard so much nature - Coyotes, deer, field mice, frogs, lizards, vultures and huge owls! Our kids especially loved looking for frogs in the little water pond.
*** Also shout out to one of the ranch staff who fixed the outdoor fireplace after we noted it to have a broken piece.

Jan 2021This property was unique in where it was located, in a valley surrounded by nature with the mountains in the distance. It had all the amenities needed to enjoy a weeks stay. The outdoor gas fireplace was great on the large deck. Our nights were cool so the wood burning fireplace in the main lodge was utilized each night. The cabin was welcomed by three of our family members. It seems funny but the large round dining table was the center of activity. Great for games, dinner, and gathering. Weiterlesen

Mar 2020This is a perfect setting for families to gather and to enjoy watching the sun rise over the mountains with a cup of coffee or sitting outside and enjoying a fire at night.
It is a convient location where you can easily access the surrounding winieries, historic sites, or natural beauty and then return home and relax.
We had dogs with us and they would rate this site as excellent, as they enjoyed taking walks outside and being with their family on vacation.
The caregivers and owner were very helpful in resolving problems and giving you suggestions on local restaurants, services, etc.
Would we recommend this place again, definitely! Our experience was so enjoyable, we are booked again for next year.

Nov 2019There were a few things about our stay that really put a damper on things. First of all, the house is beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and the welcome basket was really nice. However, I never received instructions for arrival despite messaging Andrew day of to ask, and the property is not easy to find just using the address. Using Google maps, we were directed to an empty, locked house. I frantically called Andrew several times and eventually got through to him. He directed us down a side road that took us to the house, but all of that could have been easily avoided had instructions been sent prior to our departure.
Once we got into the house, it looked lovely and clean. We unloaded our cars and packed the refrigerator with groceries since we planned on cooking dinner for our group of 8 that night. Once the sun went down and the temperature dropped, we turned on the heat in both the lodge and the cabin - and realized they weren't working. The heater in the lodge was letting off a strong gas smell and the house wasn't heating. The heater in the cabin didn't seem to be doing anything. I contacted Andrew again, and after some back and forth I was told he didn't know what to say, no one had ever complained (definitely felt like he didn't believe me) and we could leave. Finding hotels for the 8 of us at 7:00 the night of - not to mention the entire stocked kitchen wasn't really an option for us. We opted to bundle up, build a fire in the fireplace and use space heaters. The next day he had a maintenance person come out, and - sure enough - I wasn't making up a busted heater. He fixed the lodge heat, but would need a part for the cabin heater, so we used a space heater in there. Had the problem been dealt with in non-accusatory way with more options than "you can leave" I wouldn't be writing this, but here we are.
Finally, the stovetop works, but the oven doesn't heat at all on the right side and barely heats on the left, so we ultimately used to grill to cook most of the food. Weiterlesen

Oct 2020The photos of this place do not do it justice. The setting is so peaceful with the river and the mountains in the view from the huge wraparound deck. The lodge is very cool with all of the historical pieces and the beds were very comfortable. We brought our dogs and they loved being able to go down to the river and walk through the lovely neighborhood just outside the gates of the Ranch. Andrew was very responsive when there were some internet issues (we were working during the days) and the wifi was upgraded while we were there and is super fast now! We also really appreciated the berries, scones and wine that were waiting for us when we checked in - such a nice gesture! We loved it and will definitely be back. Weiterlesen

Mar 2021Spent 4 nights at this wonderful spot on an annual wine tasting trip with friends. Loved this property. Great views, nature at its finest with all the birds, horses and other animals! AM’s started with coffee in patio chairs listening to the noyices of all the animals while watching the sun rise. Loved out fireside chats at end of day. Nov 2019So much good to say about this property. The house is in a secluded location that provides privacy and tranquility. Overall this is a fantastic ranch house, and the review is based on this being a ranch house. We felt comfortable from the moment we walked into the main house and the cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed or wanted, the bathrooms were very nice and the bedrooms were large and comfortable. We enjoyed the deck both during the day and evening for social time. The fireplace and furniture in the main room offered comfortable evening gathering.
The working part of the ranch is a short walk away, but secluded by the bluff so you wouldn’t know you are on a working ranch 99% of the time.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and would book again if in the area. Weiterlesen

Jun 2021Rio Ynez is a truly magical property! The lodge emanates rustic charm and the location can’t be beat — close to town but it feels like you are removed from it all. We ended up staying in and cooked more than we thought we would because the setting is that spectacular. We enjoyed our coffee on the covered porch every morning and loved sitting by the fireplace on the deck each night. The kitchen has everything you need to make a nice meal and we were so pleased with the proximity of El Rancho Market. Another perk was the comfy bedding and mattress. Mar 2019My girlfriends and I stayed at The Lodge for a wine run weekend and had a lovely stay. Although it was a remote location within the property, it was perfect to relax and BBQ and catch up. We were afraid our UBER drivers wouldn’t be able to locate the property but they had no trouble at all.
We arrived to find local eggs and scones and half and half for our morning coffee which was so thoughtful and delicious! Two of the girls raved about the bed linens. All in all, a wonderful weekend. Thank you Andrew! Weiterlesen

Oct 2021My friends and I stayed at the Rio Ynez ranch this past weekend. We could not stop raving about this property! It was the cutest house and each room was great in its own way! We loved feeling a bit isolated, but still near downtown Santa Ynez for convenience. One thing to note is that it is a bit hard to find the property without the host’s instructions, so if you hire a driver to take you around the wineries, make sure you send them those instructions before you go! There was wifi at the property, but I didn’t have cell service, so I was concerned he wouldn’t find us. Everything worked out, but I would have been less stressed when the driver was 15 minutes late if I had thought ahead more. Would absolutely return to this lovely house, it was 10/10! Weiterlesen

May 2019My family had a great time staying at the property. In total we were 6 adults and 2 infants. More than enough room. The grounds are beautiful, hard to find (in a good way) and rustic. The outside decks are perfect for a glass wine and fun conversation. My other family members commented when the long weekend was over that they enjoyed this house so much. We cooked most evenings for the group and the kitchen and grill were more than adequate.
The location is very convenient for wine tasting, hiking and hanging in the various towns.
The owner was very easy to work with and more than flexible with some of our requests. He was responsive and friendly with every exchange.

Dec 2020Location, location, location. The ranch sits a couple of miles off the main road, next to the Santa Ynez River, yet is less than 10 minutes from town. The lodge or main house looks out onto a meadow which borders the river. From the deck you can you see the sun rising in the morning, the moon coming up in the evening, and a multitude of stars at night. You can also see herons or hawks hunting in the meadow, or the occasional coyote prowling the riverbank. Up above the meadow and lodge, where the entrance to the ranch is located, are pastures where a dozen or so horses are kept. The setting is tranquil and serene, just as described., and you might even say quite magical. The lodge itself is comfortable, and the cabin is quaint and cozy. All together, the Ranch is a wonderful place to stay. Weiterlesen

Jun 2020Gorgeous setting on the banks of the Santa Ynez river. The lodge is rather rustic, but adorable and fully functional. The wrap around veranda and fire place are definitely the highlight, as is the great room with picture windows looking out over the grass fields.
