Miru Kyoto Nishiki

We stayed at 4 different hotels in Japan and this was our most favorite hotel. The staff were friendly, supportive and professional. We really appreciated their kindness. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome to the hotel and the city. As average walkers, the walk to the nearest train station wasn’t too bad. The hotel was very close to Nishiki Market. Everything was clean and we appreciated them allowing us to use the laundry machines as much as needed at no extra charge. We also appreciated the water bottles and daily croissants. We highly recommend this hotel.

This little but stylish hotel in the city centre is one of my favourite places. The staff are very kind and helpful, the premises are super clean, and the location is central and close to the river. Although centrally located the rooms are quiet and well equipped. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when in Kyoto.

I like everything about the property - however as I am sensitive to any noise I prefer the rooms that are not facing the little front street. For reference - my son who is 20 and stayed in the same room said he heard nothing!

The staff was so friendly and spoke impeccable English, which was helpful as no one in our party speaks Japanese. They were helpful in suggesting things to do and see in Kyoto and Osaka, as well as helpful in booking us reservations.

These are difficult times for hotels in Japan and the low number of foreign travellers have a large choice of accommodation and very reasonable prices. After reading through a great number of reviews, I am very glad I stayed at this lovely hotel. Located in a relatively quiet street just a short stroll of the markets, the hotel made a great first impression on me through the warmth of the welcome received. I felt immediately at home. Actually, throughout my stay, the staff were excellent and helpful - giving me some useful advice for restaurants etc and for my day trip to Osaka. They also arranged my additional night without fuss. The room itself was spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed and sufficient space for hanging and storing clothes. Air conditioning (essential) worked great and there was a nice sized fridge to keep cool drinks. I did not hear another guest while I was there so either the hotel was very quiet during my stay or the rooms are well soundproofed. No breakfast available but a couple of croissants were provided upon request. The combination of the great service, proximity to the markets and price made this an excellent choice for Kyoto and I would gladly return.

Wifi was generally good but had a few issues connecting one day. Did not cause me any issues.

The location was great. Very close to the nishiki market and other sites. They offer free croissants every day and nespresso coffee in the room. World definitely stay here again!
