Jul 2022We were very impressed with our stay. Cabin was beautiful and in an excellent location close to Seward. Watched float planes take off and land from the porch. Helpful host and left a delicious breakfast casserole for us as well.

Aug 2018We stayed in the Wild Rose chalet with our great and grands (3 kids, all 12 years old). The chalet was in a secluded area away from the throngs of tourist. Peaceful quiet place where you could unwind at the end of the day, yet only minutes away from Seward, Cooper Landing and other attractions. Each bedroom had its own adjoining bathroom and the bedrooms were situated that allowed for complete privacy (no side by side bedrooms). The chalet was immaculate. Everything you could want was in the kitchen! Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for just hanging out together, inside and outside. The mountain and lake views from the hot tub and deck were amazing. Hosts were very helpful and offered to help with last minute bookings. Oh, and the creme brulee french toast was amazing!! We would highly recommend to anyone.

Jun 2018We had a wonderful stay in this Chalet! It worked very well for the 6 of us. 4 adults and 2 teenagers who wanted to explore the Kenai Peninsula area of Alaska.
The views are amazing! The chalet clean, and the kitchen well stocked for whatever kind of cooking you want to do.
We are picky when it comes to cleanliness, and spoiled when it comes to liking nice things and this place met our needs!
Thanks for sharing your chalet with us on what was a wonderful family vacation to Alaska!

Sep 2019This property served well as the home base for our extended family to enjoy a week-long vacationing in Kenai. The location was convenient for access to entire Kenai region. The home was very clean. The kitchen was large and very functional. The three bedrooms and loft provided ample sleeping space for the 10 of us. We enjoyed the hottub and excellent wifi service. The owner, Gary, was responsive and attentive. Only a couple suggestions: the kitchen knives need to be improved and the bed linens/towels could be newer (including softer pillows).

Sep 2018This property is nicely situated near a small village about 30 min from Seward and 90 min from Anchorage, off the Seward Hwy. The view is, as advertised, wonderful, over the highway screened by trees to a lake with mountains beyond. Though the property has 2 other rental chalets, the comings and goings from those were essentially invisible from this one, so it felt private. The "hosts" were in an RV on the property, adjacent to this chalet, and there appeared to be one other RV.
The kitchen was well equipped and surprisingly well stocked with condiments and miscellaneous food items. Two dishwashers and a generous supply of plates and utensils made it easy to keep the kitchen, which also has ample counter space, from getting cluttered. The hosts invited us to use the rhubarb growing outside, which we made into a nice crisp. The electric range was not our favorite; we prefer gas. A minor complaint is that there were only 2 decent wine glasses; the rest were plastic or cheap, goblet-type glasses. A few more quality wine glasses would have been appreciated.
The hot tub was wonderful, especially on the wet, foggy days, and it offers the same lake/mountain view as the house. It was clean, hot, and functioned well, with nicely designed system for supporting its cover while in use.
The high ceiling and open and casual layout made for very comfortable reading and lounging. The wireless signal was strong and flawless. Linens and paper products were available as advertised, and the large washer/dryers proved helpful with a lot of wet days.
The availability of canoes and kayaks for use on lake was a bonus; we took a canoe out once. The lake is a murky blue-gray color. We did not witness any fishing or fish; the occasional eagle was the main wildlife. As noted elsewhere, planes take off from or land on the lake occasionally, though this was not an issue.
We had a few minor maintenance issues, one of which couldn't be resolved while we were there, but the hosts were helpful and very friendly. The property shows some wear, which was noticeable on deck. One of the downstairs bathrooms was rather small with little or no surface for placing items. The fake fireplace/heater built into entertainment center was a bit sad for the magnificent surroundings.
Overall, we were very pleased with the location, facilities, communication, etc. We would recommend it as a home base for a vacation on the Kenai Peninsula.

Jul 2019This place was incredible. Gary was a great host and Treva keft a Creme Brulee French toast casserole for us. This was the best furnished rental we have ever stayed in. So many little items, fabulous view of the lake with flat planes and a hot tub to relax in. Great location for day trips. Loved it!

Aug 2018This home was beautiful and the location was perfect for us. It has a beautiful view of the mountains and water. It is only 30 minutes from Seward, close to Exit Glacier which we really enjoyed and close to the Alaska Wilderness Conservation Center. They provided so many amenities that we have had to purchase when staying at other rentals such as paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap, laundry soap, shampoo, body wash, condiments, etc. We had a great time staying here and would love to return some day.

Oct 2018The house is perfect for a large group. There are two microwaves, two ovens, and two dishwashers. There was plenty of well maintained cookware and plenty of plates, bowls, utensils, crockpots, and dish towels etc. The view is spectacular from the windows. It’s a short drive to some awesome hikes. The hike up to Carter Lake is beautiful but steep. The first part of the ptarmigan trail is basically flat and easy walking next to a beautiful creek. We went to Seward to the Sealife center and then just up the road there was an awesome gelato store that had homemade fudge!
The owner Gary was great. Easy to contact and answered any questions we had. It takes a little bit of time for the hot water to reach the upstairs showers. I recommend running both sinks. We were all very happy and comfortable and hope to return next year!

Aug 2018The home you have always wanted with all the amenties in the most beautiful setting.
Our family had an amazing stay in this gorgeous home overlooking Upper Trail Lake. The hostess on site had a gourmet french toast casserole in the refrigerator upon arrival and was the perfect combination of available but not in our way. The amenties of the hot tub and kayaks were perfect. The house is very clean, perfectly appointed in every way (kitchen has everything you could possibly need), and so peaceful. Standing on the deck watching float planes taking off and landing was an added bonus. I didn't want to leave and would not consider staying anywhere else should we return to the area.

Jul 2018Ten years later, still great views with options for activities - however, age shows in several areas of the home. Owners were cooperative and understanding with our concerns.
