May 2023This property was amazing. The design and decor were magazine worthy. The location is quiet and perfect to enjoy the kayak and paddle boards without feeling too crowded by boats. We used the outdoor kitchen to cook dinner one night which was surreal! Thanks to the Spanos for creating such a nice get away spot.

May 2023My cabin experience was awesome! Sharon was tremendously responsive and thoughtful. Her husband was nice to meet. He came by and dropped off supplies so that we could crank up the fire pit later that night. My overall experience was great! Relaxing on the private beach and sitting by lake was so pleasant. The weather was close to perfect. Memories for lifetime were made during my stay. This was one of the best vacation rentals I have stayed at.

Apr 2023We had a wonderful time at the Winnecoette! It felt like the cabin was set up just for us, from the tie out for the dog to the pack and play crib, we had everything we needed and more. It was like staying at our own little resort and we didn’t even need to leave the property. The cabin was spotless upon arrival and Sharon is a thoughtful and responsive host. We will be back!

Apr 2023This cabin and lake property was fantastic. You can see the little details they thought of to make the cabin feel like a cozy home and not a sterile or dusty cabin. The house was very clean and so well appointed. We were there for 5 nights and my only regret was that we didn’t stay a few more days. The attention to detail found in the inside was also applied to the outdoor spaces. Great place to get away for a couple or the whole family.

Feb 2023I cannot thank Peter and Sharon enough. The house is so welcoming. There were flowers, brownies and a candy dish waiting for us upon arrival. The house was IMMACULATE, cozy and so comfortable. Wonderful location, everything we needed was there and it’s close to a lot of shops and restaurants so you don’t have to worry if you need something. We will definitely return and we highly recommend! Thank you again Peter and Sharon!

Feb 2023We had the most magical few days up at the Winnecotte cabin. It was just as beautiful in person as the pictures had portrayed. The brownies and gluten free cookies for my Celiac daughter were such a special touch, too! We would 100% recommend this place to our friends & family. It was hard to leave!

Dec 2022We just returned from another amazing weekend at the most beautiful lakeside cabin. We refer to it as our Hallmark Holiday. This is the second year my sister, dear friend and I gather for a relaxing weekend. The house is as picture perfect as you see online. There are so many personal touches from a roaring fire, to fresh evergreens, baked goods, and so much more. We are so thankful to have found such a special home.

Oct 2022We really enjoyed our visit last weekend. The property was idealistic with private beach, lots of outdoor equipment and a beautiful cabin. Very easy access to the highway and area attractions. Cabin itself was like new. Great spot!

Oct 2022I’ve rented a lot of houses over the years, and this is the best yet. Sharon has thought of every single detail in the log cabin she designed. Enough towels and hooks/bars to hang them on? Check. Outlets in the right place? Check. Equally good main bedrooms for two couples? Check. Idyllic front porch, good kayaks and SUP boards, big stone fireplace, seating for everyone, and everything the parents of babies and children might need? Check, check, check. It was spotless, comfortable, rich in lake views, and while not huge, designed to have everything you need. Wish we could have stayed much longer.

Sep 2022We had such an amazing time at the cabin. The house is filled with anything you may possibly need. The kid/baby stuff is a huge plus! Check in process was really easy. Check out process is also very easy I only wish it was an 11 am check out rather than 10. It’s hard to get the house cleaned up, everything packed with toddlers and a baby. All in all this house is literally a dream and I really hope to come back. There is so much to do here on property and so much to do in the area. The owners have kept it looking picture perfect and you can tell they take pride in their property. I will note that the bedroom/bathroom situation was perfect for us with little kids BUT could be tricky for those wanting more personal space. The second floor queen bedroom up top is connected to the bunk room so you have to go through one to get to the other. The only bathroom down stairs is through the master bedroom. Again, not a big deal for us, but for others it could be. Thank you so much to the owners for allowing us to stay in your truly magnificent home. We absolutely loved it!

Aug 2022My parents and my teenage nephew stayed in this house when we stayed in the other house on the same property. My father is a developer so he can be quite critical when it comes to other people's construction especially when people cut corners. He loved this cabin. He spoke about the attention to detail, the gorgeous post and beam style, and the great light that came inside. My nephew had the whole upstairs to himself and felt like he had his own apartment. My mom loved how quiet the house was. Both houses are incredibly quiet. Let's not forget the beach with THREE docks! The cabins have the largest beach frontage of any of the houses on that part of the lake. The location is in a quiet smaller cove on Lake Winnisquam which we really loved as we swam and paddle boarded a lot. None of us could believe how clear the water was. We don't have water like this in CT. Back to the house, the kitchen is not only gorgeous but useful for cooking for big groups, it has all the items you need to bake a birthday cake and make meals for both houses. Sharon and Peter are both super attentive to their guests' needs. We already booked for next summer.

Jul 2022Our second stay at Winnecoette was everything we hoped it would be. The cabin is beautiful and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Our dog loved the treats, bed and tennis ball Sharon left for her and had a blast playing on the beach. The location is convenient and the hosts were incredibly hospitable. We can’t wait to come back and stay again.

Jun 2022We all enjoyed a lovely stay at The Winnecoette Log Cabin. The owners love their property, and it shows. The cabin was very clean and most comfortable for our family. The well-maintained porch deck and private beach are a bonus. A wonderful place to just kick back and relax or, from the cabin, you are available to many different activities. Great choice.

Jun 2022neighbor kids to side of the house partied till 1am letting off fireworks etc. i would recommend renting house on the left side of driveway away from group of small neighbor houses. house was smaller than anticipated. wasn’t really a 3 bedroom since the bunk bed room is attached to a room. downstairs room fits a couple and has private bathroom. cute house well kept and nice lake views. nice cozy unit. nice fire pit and outdoor space. owner a little overly involved but respectful and communicative. owner expects you to pay for cleaning and also leave it spotless when you leave. she was upset when we check out 12 minutes late and we didn’t pull sheets off bed and left some dishes in the sink. conclusion, if you rent left house away from neighbors and adhere to her strict check out guildelines and are ok with the 3rd bedroom connected to 2nd bedroom you’ll enjoy the place. rare to get a rental on a lake which is great.

Mar 2022This is the 2nd March in a row we rented this beautiful cottage on Lake Winnesquam and it was spectacular. Sharon’s flare for flawless detail was on hand yet again when we arrived to the gas fireplace, beautiful candle, fresh cut flowers, walnut brownies, and a bowl ful of candies awaiting us. Our pup even had 2 biscuits ready to welcome her! The picturesque snow adorned trees and beautiful sunrises were out of this world. We can’t wait to return in the warmer months to use the water toys on the lake!

The hospitality that the owners gave us was phenomenal from the little amenities that were provided to the brownies that we’re waiting for us when we arrived. You could tell the owner took pride in the service that they were providing. We were there during the winter with snow on the ground, this place is a must visit during the summertime.

Feb 2022The cabin has a luxury feel while also being rustic. Our family loved it so much. The location is conveniently located near the highway, restaurants and shops, while also feeling like you are away from everything, nestled on the shore of Lake Winnesquam. Accommodations were wonderful. Cabin is stocked with board games and necessities like coffee, cocoa, tea, toiletries and even fresh baked brownies upon arrival!
