Nov 2022Very nice place (cabin) to relax in. Away from the town but just a 20min slow drive to town. Beautiful scenery and wild life everywhere. Thats why you drive slow, Take in the sites and respect the wild life. All in all, a very good time.

Jun 2020This was a great weekend getaway. The cabin was exactly as advertised. Great place for walks in the morning. The bed was very comfortable. In fact, I would love to know what kind it is. I would definitely rent this cabin again.

Nov 2022This cabin is small but very cozy and quite cute. We would stay again for sure. The hot tub was lovely and made for a great little end of the day spot to hang out and relax after a day of exploring.

Apr 2022The place wasn't very clean. The baseboards looked as if the had mold. You can see sunlight out of the bathroom floor by the shower . Walls had cracks paint was chipped everywhere. The sponge they left for dishes smelled awful. I mean the place over all wasn't terrible but for the cleaning cost they charge I'd expect it to be alot cleaner. It honestly didn't feel very private. Any time we went outside the people in the cabin above us were like watching. The walls are very thin you can hear other people in cabins next to you . The furniture was nice but the cleanliness of the place definitely could have been better

Feb 2019The Duncans are an amazing family that truly care about their customers. They did everything in their power to make our 2-night stay as pleasant as possible. The cabin was clean and the hot tub was hot!

Jun 2021The cabin was up 3 flights of frozen stairs. Not once did the salt or sand them. The cabin furnace would not reach above 68 and it didn't help that both the front and back doors have gaps to the outside only furthering the drop in temperature. The kitchen sink is broken and there was no towels and one dirty sponge to was dishes. We ride in an RC and rent cabins throughout the year and we'll be sure to pass on that "if we wanted better amenities than we shouldn't be so cheap" said by Alyx herself. They only made it easy to give the review they deserve. No extra blankets, towels that we needed to block the gaps in the doors. It was a rough way to celebrate our Anniversary. There are so many places we've stayed and this was a big lesson to not pick a place that is owned by them. Word of mouth can sink your business and Covid isn't an excuse to be exceptionally rude to paying guests! I've never felt so disrespected in any other rentals over the past 10 years. I got no help from the owners who say 260 days a year that cabin... I'm sure not the only person that feels this way.

Jan 2022If you are looking for a decent place to stay for few days, I recommend you keep looking. This is not it. The cabin is poorly maintained. There is not a level floor in the house. You can see the light from the heat lamp under the bathroom through the cracks between the wall and floor and really felt like the floor might collapse, not to mention the hole in the outside wall that allowed ice cold wind to flow thru. The stove is very old, and the oven door would not close. It is also gas and requires a lighter to start the burners which they did not provide. There are approximately 30 stairs up to the cabin and they are not well lit, pretty treacherous when you arrive for the first time after dark. Would have been much worse with snow or ice. The pull-out sofa is broken. The hot tub was ok, but the rock patio is very uneven and half complete with sand which carried easily inside. They provide no rug at the back door. The gas grill was new, but only provided enough gas for one night and the charcoal grill was full of trash and nearly worthless. Additionally, we stayed over Christmas break and they had a 5 night minimum, however the cabin wasn’t well stocked for a one night stay (one kitchen towel, one kitchen wash cloth to hand wash dishes, one steak knife, 3 forks, no usable spoons, cookware was subpar and the handle was broken off of the skillet (which I repaired just to use, can’t believe they didn’t notice if they really clean for covid), no hot tub towels (though they say you can’t use the 3 provided bath towels), no mixing bowls. We called to request more towels and they didn’t answer the phone or respond to the VM. We ended up going to town to buy towels and a rug to clean our feet after the hot tub. Overall, this was a very disappointing place to stay. We paid for 5 nights but left early to find a better place to stay.

Jun 2019First off, when it comes to renting properties you cannot see, I believe in transparency and saying things truthfully as they are to avoid surprises and manage expextations. My wife and I rented Eagles Nest for a weekend getaway (Jun 2019). We were surprised. We enjoyed our stay because we are both outdoors people and are used to camping but we were not expecting what we found. If you are looking for a nice luxurious cabin with many comforts, this is not for you. If you are renting a cabin over a condo for privacy, this is not for you. There is a cabin 25 yards away in all directions. If you decide to use the hottub, you are in plain view of 4 other cabins. Bed sheets, towels, and dishes were clean. Other than that, not so much. The leather couch in the pictures has been replaced with a cloth one. The TV stand with drawers has been replaced (no furniture with drawers to unpack). There are no deadbolts on either door (just a flimsy doornob) if you take security seriously. Also there are no weather strips on either door so bugs always have an open door to that cabin (and they do take advantage of the invitation). The window air conditioner/heater is not installed properly (has a huge opening where bugs also get in). There were lots of bugs inside and outside the cabin. Hotwater was good, fridge keeps food cool but not cold. Both gas and charcoal grill are bareley usable. I would recommend bringing your own. Also bring lawn chairs, the patio chairs are rusting and were painted with cheap paint so they will stain your clothes red. Again, all in all my wife and I had a good time because we are used to camping. However, we rented a cabin because we did not feel like camping and bringing all the extras and wanted privacy. No privacy and all the extras would have come in handy. They are also currently building a new cabin right next to eagles nest so you will hear hammering etc.
