Feb 2022With enough bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas, this was a great place for our family to gather. The hot tub was a bonus! Would not hesitate to stay again if we come back to this area.

Apr 2021While it would have been a great stay, the property was advertised as including a hot tub. This turned out not to be the case, as the hot tub had been broken back in January. This is ample time for the owners to have updated the listing to mention the hot tub likely wouldn't be operational. Not only was the hot tub issue not addressed, but we also found a camera set up in the living room. This was easily rectified by covering it, but this information wasn't addressed in the listing, and came off as super creepy and unprofessional.

Sep 2020We really enjoyed our week at the log house. It is a beautiful house with inviting rooms for reading, playing games, and taking naps. The grandchildren enjoyed the beach area and the paddle boats at the lake. All of our expectations were exceeded. Many good memories were made.

May 2021We really enjoyed our stay here. We are a group of 4 couples who cruise and travel together. We live in different areas in PA and VA and meet every so often. The house was great - lovely deck and quiet area. We did go to New Market battlefield and did some shopping in some areas close by. But we mostly stayed in the house - did all of our meals there - the kitchen is well equipped but a bit disorganized which probably comes from guests not putting things back! Donovan was quick to answer a couple of questions we had upon arrival. Appreciate that! All in all a great place!

Jan 2020We had a wonderful weekend at this cabin! Very spacious, so everyone had a lot of room to relax. The cabin is beautiful and well-equipped -- the kitchen has everything you need and there are lots of games and DVDs. Great location to go hiking around the nearby lake. Everyone loved this cabin!

Dec 2019We had a family Christmas at the Log House and everyone had a great time. There were 12 of us that stayed for the week and there was more than enough room for everyone. Everything worked well and there were no issues with any of the accommodations. Plenty of towels and sheets and the kitchen is well stocked. The knives aren’t very sharp but I think I read that on another review. Pool table is nice. Hot tub is good but only for a few people at a time. The beds are ok not amazing. Get your supplies before you get there. There is a Walmart and food lion about 30 minutes away and a general store about 5 minutes away but the general store is small, not stocked very well and overpriced. Somewhat to be expected. We went hiking a few times and most of the trails were an hour or more drive. The Shenandoah caverns were a good outing only about 30 minutes away. Overall it was a vacation. No complaints really. Everyone had a good time

Jul 2022We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere but there is a major ant problem and the owner should get their money back from the cleaning company; bed sheets smell like wet dog and Tide Pods, so many cobwebs and dust, the utensils and cookware not cleaned (we had to scrub before and after use), the boardgames are trashed, no curtains on the windows, loose banister wood (be careful).

Oct 2019Very spacious house with lots of amenities. Check in was very easy and the owner was very prompt with communication. House was added on to since the last time I rented. Fantastic addition. Plenty of seating for our family to dine together. Views from the back deck were beautiful. I I’ll definitely rent this house again.

The hot tub, the pool table, the grill, the gym, the kitchen and the small library/study office area allowed for our family to be able to work, play and reconnect. Wifi service was decent for the area and much needed since cellphone service is very weak. The kitchen was almost fully stocked with anything you could need to prep a meal. (Note: Other's reviews about the knives being dull still true)Prime location to Bryce Resort and the walk to Lake Laura was short and the lake beautiful! We were four couples (all ages), a single male and a 12 year old and everyone was able to have their bedroom and not fight over a bathroom. Would recommend

Sep 2019This was the perfect cabin for our large family, and we absolutely loved the place and location! We would recommend it for any large group looking for a spacious cabin with plenty of room for everyone. Having the lake and resort nearby was great for activities as well. Im not sure when the cleaning was done before our arrival but there were dead insects, quite a few lady bugs in the master suite as well as the stairs going up there. Not a huge deal but thought you should know. All in all a goid fit for our family! And we would love to come again!

Jul 2020This was a perfect 3 day COVID-social-distancing getaway from DC! Just a two hour drive, near a beautiful but isolated lake with lovely running paths, and a house filled with things to do, from the pool table, the hot tub, the gorgeous deck that's perfect for morning coffees or evening dinners, the grill, etc. Would highly recommend!

Jan 2020This was a beautiful home; well appointed and very clean/nice. On our second day, we noticed a security system on the wall - it was a digital interface that we thought controlled the heat. When we accessed it, we noticed that it was actually a security system, wired to several cameras in the home. One camera was in a locked office (which we did not enter or have access to), and the other was in the living room. The camera in the office is adjacent to the master bedroom, and also records audio. The camera in the living room does not record audio, but did record footage of our family in the home. We actually were able to inadvertently view footage of the family that was there the weekend before our stay, which made us uncomfortable. We were also not comfortable being recorded or having our conversations recorded in the master bedroom from the audio feed of the office camera. I understand the need for security outside the home, but being recorded inside the home was not something disclosed to us, and we would not have agreed to stay there if this was shared. We felt that this was an invasion of our family's privacy, and also don't know where the recordings are stored, and if others could possibly gain access. I hope that the owners consider removing the cameras for future families staying in the home.

Apr 2021This place is well managed, the property manager replies super quick and has very clear check in and check out instructions. The cabin is a perfect place to stay: clean, well equipped, near a lake, a legit gym (has everything an actual gym would have) and roomy. The only thing I’d change are new kitchen knives, the ones in the wooden block were dangerously blunt even with sharpening - I had a hard time cutting a lime. But other than that it was perfect.

The guest passes for Lake Laura were much appreciated. The lake is an easy walk or drive and was really enjoyed by our entire group. We hiked, rented kayaks, and swam. The lake was very clean. I would recommend the house!

Mar 2021This house is tucked into the woods and really makes you feel secluded even though there are other houses in the area. The house is incredible and very clean. I highly recommend this place if youre looking for a getaway in the shenedoah area. The only downfall was the hot tub was not operable.

Pieces of furniture were broken and the hot tub was dirty. There was a call made to get it cleaned but we didn’t get a response. Overall it was a great cabin. Definitely needs some tending to.

There is a new hot tub, and it overlooks the most amazing view outside. The house, log cabin really, is in a really peaceful location, but was close enough to wineries and a great restaurant, RHouse, which catered a dinner for us. The owner was super responsive to help us get better wifi in the house. Would definitely recommend and even stay again if we got the chance!!

Oct 2021The property was as listed and we enjoyed our stay. One recommendation is to update the towels/wash cloths for the property and to make sure there is proper amounts of toiletries (toilet paper) for the length of the stay.
