We enjoyed our weekend in the mountains. Peaceful and relaxing for folks who like the outdoors but don't want the hassle of camping outdoors. The home was comfortable but needs some TLC. Overall we would stay again in the fall when the leaves are changing and cold enough for a campfire.

We enjoyed our stay at this well-located home in Luray. It was everything I hoped it would be with plenty of space and amenities to relax. Centrally located to a number of the sites we intended to visit like Lake Arrowhead, Luray Cavers, and Sky Line Drive.

We appreciate the full kitchen and condiments as well as anything that might be needed for a quick getaway, Erik, the owner was very helpful and pleasant! We would go back here, for sure!

Very nice and clean cabin in quiet green area in very close proximity to Shenandoah park and caverns. I enjoy my short stay and surely come back next year

To be fair the property's furniture and appliances are a little dated but everything was clean and functional. This property is located very near the town of luray and it is convenient to major food markets and retailers as well as various fast food outlets. We enjoyed our stay very much.

This stay was amazing we were able to unplug and relax with the dogs. It was quiet and peaceful with no internet or cell service.

This place was perfect for our needs. Our dog loved playing fetch and exploring in the yard. The setting was quiet and peaceful. I was surprised to see a large amount of wood already cut for the fire pit. The inside of the cabin also had everything we needed. We spent a lot of time in Shenandoah National Park, so being so close to the Thornton Gap entrance was great.

This place was nothing short of amazing. We were looking for a “socially distanced” vacation spot to take our chocolate lab and chihuahua and do a whole bunch of hiking in Shenandoah National Park. The location was perfect because if you take a left out of the driveway to the end of the road, left will take you the SNP in 4 miles and right will take you to Lake Arrowhead in less than 2 miles. Lake arrowhead is a gorgeous place where you can swim with an amazing view of the mountains. The Luray caverns are about 15 minutes away and the town of Luray has a great walking trail along water right in town. Our dogs LOVED the swimming opportunities on the hikes and REALLY loved playing and sprinting around the huge yard of the cabin. The front porch was relaxing and peaceful and we got to enjoy a short rain storm which made the property smell even better than a mountain rain scented candle. The central air in the cabin was extremely refreshing after a long hike. We cooked dinner at the cabin every night and always easily found any item that we needed. The gas grill is very efficient. The only thing that took some getting used to is that there is no WiFi or cell service until you drive about 2 miles away. For this reason we did our research on our phones and planned out our itinerary for the following day while in town, then relaxed when we got home. There is a landline available for making and receiving calls if necessary, so overall, this was actually a GREAT break from cell phones, emails, and the distractions of everyday life. I would highly recommend this cabin for a comfortable, peaceful retreat.

The property is a little bit of a 70s throwback - in a really good way. Dated, but immaculately maintained. We were fine with not having wi-fi, as it was clearly disclosed before we went. Unplugging is good! Comfortable, with kitchen needs supplied.

The Fox Den was very comfortable and relaxing. We felt right at home staying and despite the weather especially enjoyed the swing on the front porch. The living room furniture was very comfortable with more than adequate seating. The gas fireplace worked very well and warmed up the area quickly. The bedrooms were nicely furnished and the front bedroom bed was very comfortable. We didn’t use the back bedroom so I can’t comment on it’s comfort. The kitchen had adequate utensils and pans along with supplies. Was pleased to see the Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom was well supplied with nice quality towels. Each room had tissues which is a nice added supply. We definitely liked the DISH having all music stations as we listened to XM during most of our stay. There is no internet to connect to XM or Pandora for music so having it through DISH was a plus. There were also many movie channels available although we didn’t take advantage of that. The heating system in the house was very efficient and easy to control and offered air conditioning during warmer weather times. The heat worked quickly and we were always comfortable. We will hope to return someday soon as we really enjoyed our quiet stay. It was just a super short drive into the Shenandoah National Park and was also close enough to town if we wanted to go in for a meal. Glad we found The Fox Den on VRBO!

The Fox Den was quite comfortable. We chose it for its proximity to Shenandoah National Park (just 15min from the Thorton Gap Entrance), but it was also a nice place to return to after a day of hiking. The cabin was incredibly clean when we arrived, and the kitchen appliances, although older, worked just fine. We had plenty of hot water and used both the gas fireplace and the outdoor firepit. Sheets and towels are provided, and there is a wide assortment of pots and other kitchen utensils. Coffee maker, toaster, keurig, and other small appliances too. The house is in an area with neighbors nearby and so doesn't feel particularly remote, but there is a large lawn surrounded by trees, so it feels fairly private. No internet or cell service, though you can get LTE near the lodges in the park and at few of the overlooks on Skyline Drive. It was nice to be able to unplug for awhile and just relax with the local wildlife. Just make sure to download a map of the area before you arrive.

The Fox Den was a perfect place for us to relax, unplug and enjoy our trip to the Shenandoah Valley to ride our Harley TriGlide on Skyline Drive. It is perfectly located near the Thornton Gap entrance to the National Park and Skyline Drive. We found it be centrally located to all of the places we visited. 340S to Waynesboro was a great ride too! The cabin is clean and makes you feel right at home! It has everything you need to cook or grill. Sheets, blankets, towels and wash clothes are all provided. So relaxing to rock on the porch listening to the sounds of nature... birds, frogs, the creek.... after a day of riding! The pictures on the site are current. This was are first visit to the area... the host, Erik, responded promptly and made it an easy decision for us to rent The Fox Den! We highly recommend!

The cabin had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable!! It was a beautiful view from the porch where we enjoyed our evenings on the porch swing. Close to wineries, so relaxing. We will stay again!

Super private and secluded yet minutes from town. We loved playing cards and Yatzee on the deck! We needed a 5th dice for our game and actually found a spare with the other games. Saw a fox too! Only concern was how small the toilet is. If you are tall, it's a real challenge! Would recommend highly to anyone that wants to disconnect from a hectic life for a few days. WiFi/cell service kicks in about 5 miles down the road. Thanks for making us feel at home!
