Jul 2020When we checked in the pillowcases, sheets, and mattress had huge stains. 12 inch plus in diameter stains. Not usable even under normal conditions let alone in this time of COVID. Inside of coffee pot and coffee machine was dirty. So was the inside of the toaster. Sink had toothpaste in the sink itself. One of the toilet bowls was not properly clean. Lots of old clothes in closet hung up and on the floor. I realize maybe others would want to use clothes that have been used by other people but we were not interested in doing this. Same with old food in kitchen. Maybe others want to eat what was previously left there by others but we were not interested. I don't mean condiments. I mean regular food. Having said all this I will also say there are many nice things about the place which is why I gave it an overall 3 stars. The location is excellent and as advertised. We did not want to spend time complaining to the host so we did not mention these problems, however, the communication that we did have went well. The house itself is nice although our personal preference would be to replace some of the old furniture. The pool table was fun. We found it difficult to review this place. With more attention paid to these issues the place could be 5 stars in our opinion. It is to bad that we were so turned off when we got there.

The kids got to play outside all day long. We only stayed two nights but we regret not booking an extra day. One of the best vacations my family and I have had, and we have stayed in multiple houses/cabins in the last 10 years. The house is perfect for multiple families. The older teens stayed in the game area which they said was their favorite part of the trip having their own small house just for them. Overall, the cabin was perfect.

Aug 2022We visited with my sister and 4 kids ranging from 5 to 17. We all had a great time and the living space/kitchen was very comfortable (much better than old listing photos). The upstairs 2 bedrooms were perfect with a shared bath. The downstairs master ensuite was in good order with a view to the back deck. Even though we had to bring our own sheets, it ended up being a small factor as the house was enjoyable with a lake access down the street, which we enjoyed very much. Our two older boys stayed in the guest house, which were a few steps away. Everyone had their own space, and was easy to gather in the main house each morning.We were attracted by the private lake when booking. It was awesome. The lake is managed very well by the homeowner association. We even met the friendly HOA president who lives nearby, said hi to everyone, and takes a lot of care to clean up the lake frequently with the rest of the HOA.

Dec 2021We stayed for a week over Thanksgiving and had a marvelous time. The house was perfect for our family and as we were leaving my grandson asked how much it would cost to buy the house. We were surprised (he's 7 and has never said anything like that), and he told us he loved the house and he wanted to save up and buy it one day!

Feb 2020We loved the cabin. Everything about it was great. Everything was labeled and very easy to use. So much room for the family to have their own space and We didn’t have one complaint. Can’t wait to come back in the summer

There was plenty of room in the house, all the beds were cozy. The game room up by the garage is really cool too, we spent a lot of time in there. Overall it was awesome, we will definitely recommend the house to friends, and I think we’ll try to rent it again during the summer. 5 stars!

Sep 2020Was a nice location, quiet and comfortable home. Could use some updating and TLC. We did not realize some of the sleeping arrangements were in a separate unit with a half bath. Workable, but not planned.

Aug 2022This was our second stay at this adorable property ♥️. The only suggestions that would ease convenience and further improve are to clean floors a little more thoroughly beforehand, especially in the bedroom closest to top of stairs (both visits I had to wipe up a couple of insects from that room specifically , which I know of common in the mountains !) - but i think the cleaners had an emergency arise. Also - to provide trash bags + extras in the bins , dishwasher pods ,as well as instant coffee . :) turning on ac on the day of arrival during summer would be nice ! Black out curtains /shades and a way to cover bedroom skylights would also be super nice! My kids were a little rowdier than usual so my apologies if we left things a little out of order . We do look forward to our next stay ! Thank you !

Aug 2021This is my family’s third year here and we always have a great time. We enjoy family game nights, days at the lake, and walks to Alicia’s Sugar Shake for breakfast. It’s a perfect place to spend some nice quality time with your family. We will definitely be back.

Aug 2020The house and location were wonderful. Sugar Pine Lake was close by and a great little lake to hang out at. The house was really dirty though. The cabinet doors were sticky and especially the cabinet that houses the garbage can ( I had to use a napkin to open it). There was hair in the sink in the bathroom, the kitchen faucet handle was dirty, and the cabinet patio table was sticky and dirty with food. The whole “bring your own sheets” thing is a major pain, especially since the bed is “made” with no sheets and you have to unmake it to put your sheets on. When you leave you have take your sheets off and remake the bed for the next person so they can unmake it and put their sheets on. This makes no sense! Because the bed is made up by the renter, I wonder when the bed spreads and blankets are washed? I had to wash all the bed spreads in the house upon arrival when I found a dog pee stain on a comforter from upstairs and what I hoped was food stuck to the master bedroom comforter. All this in addition to cleaning all the door handles, faucet/fixtures, and light switches when I realized how unsanitary the home was. I lost faith in the cleaning crew with what I could see and felt the need to sanitize (especially in these Covid-19 times) The house in general could use a deep cleaning. The walls, floors and carpeting was pretty dirty. For me, this made it hard to relax. All the cleaning and bed making made this weekend get away exhausting. Also, the oven took forever(at least an hour) just to cook a frozen pizza. Something was definitely wrong with it. The house is so cute and has so much potential, but I would never stay there again.

For our 1st visit to the Yosemite Valley, this property was a welcome home base from which to operate. Our family of four had ample room to move about and the back deck is a fantastic place to unwind. Don't be surprised if you see a deer or two walk by as you lounge on the deck. It is a very short walk to the beautiful little lake and that is a great spot to cool off on a hot day. We would certainly welcome another visit to this property!
