Aug 2020We really enjoyed our stay. Nice property, well kept and everything seemed to work well. With a little help (deer corn) we even had daily deer visitors to watch from the back deck. The extendable awning is a great addition so outdoor enjoyment can continue through normal mountain showers.

Oct 2017We had such a great time at this house!! We were 5 couples that were traveling to Beech Mountain for a friends wedding. We decided to make a long weekend out of it and stay 3 nights. The house was amazing and it was the perfect place for us to gather and relax. I’d recommend it to anyone and hope to make it back there sometime soon.

Nov 2017We had a wonderful time at the Beech Mountain Log Cabin!! It was very spacious and welcoming. The fire pit was a plus along with all the deer roaming around! We will definitely visit again!

Jan 2018We enjoyed this house and the bedroom configuration worked out great for 3 small families (6 adults, 6 kids). An amazing winter wonderland and very close to skiing at Beech Mountain! The house was a little smaller than it looked and we did have some minor issues, but the rental company took care of everything. If you are planning on going in the winter, you need a 4 Wheel Drive vehicle- I do wish this was mentioned somewhere as we got snowed in and had to pay to have chains installed on our tires.

Mar 2018We are 3 families who like to travel to Beech. This year, ski weather was not good on our weekend, but that didn't matter. We were able to ski a little (but had to go to Sugar Mtn), we went on a horseback trail, and spent lots of time cooking together and playing music in the living room. The best aspect of this house is the large dining area connected to the kitchen, an ideal gathering space with lots of light from large windows.
Good sleeping options for 3 adult couples and many kids, everyone had their own space and slept soundly while others gathered. Photos are accurate to the space. Fireplace was easy to use. Temperature across the house was manageable through use of ceramic heaters in cold spots. Interior was clean and ready for us on arrival. We recommend this house and if price remains competitive (past houses we liked jacked their prices up for the same weekend) would strongly consider returning again.
Good example of customer service: one dining room chair was in disrepair and collapsed under one normal-sized adult who sat down. I texted the manager right away (I didn't want to be charged for broken furniture that we were not responsible for), and they replied promptly and courteously. I have a sense that if there was a serious issue it would be dealt with quickly.
When we chose the house, the pool table was a major deciding factor in our decision. While the table was lovely and in good condition, all of the cues were missing tips except for one cue which was in poor condition. This was disappointing, since we only considered houses that had pool tables, and not having functioning cues precludes playing pool, no matter how nice the table.
At time of check in, an email informed us that the downstairs tub drain was slow. In fact, the tub drain was completely clogged and after one person's shower the tub remained full of standing water for the remainder of the stay, which caused bathing logistical problems for a group of 11. We would have preferred the plumbing problem to be addressed prior to arrival rather than be warned about one bathroom becoming a functional half-bath.
Prior renters at some point left a huge amount of cigarette butts and plastic cigar tips in and around the fire ring outside. We had to do significant cleaning in the area before we could use it.

Feb 2018This house was very nice, clean, roomy and close to the ski resort. Fortunately, it snowed and the kids had a great time sledding down the hills in the backyard. The kids loved the downstairs game room as well. Great Location!

Feb 2018This house was great for our party of 10. The house was clean but there was stuff left from previous renters (bags of trash) and previously broken furniture. The trash dump center was difficult to find. directions or address would be great for future renters. And we did not realize bath linens were limited to one towel per person with one wash cloth per bathroom. That would have been useful information as well.

Aug 2018The property was great. Lots of room for a big group (we had 12 people in total and had plenty of space) and still maintains a cozy mountain cabin feel. We did have a couple of sore sticking points that weren't made known to us in advance and a better job could have been done in preparing the house. Not enough to ruin the experience at all, but still worth pointing out:
1. While the check-in instructions that we were provided mentioned a recycling center to discard our trash and recycling, it was not made clear that we would need to transport all of the trash/recycling down the mountain a bit to the Beech Mountain Convenience Center. This created a bit of a hassle before check-out.
2. The drain in one of the showers on the main floor was not working properly, effectively eliminating one of the showers for use. Additionally, the body wash dispenser in shower of the master bedroom was left empty and not refilled by the cleaning company in advance of our stay. Fortunately we had brought a bar of soap as backup.
3. The outdoor grills were filthy upon arrival and we were not comfortable using them.
Again, we loved the house overall and would definitely recommend it to others to stay, but still some improvements can be made in advance of future guests staying in the house.

Jul 2018The outside picture we saw online was appealing and the inside looked adequate, but when we got there, we were taken aback by what greeted us. The house had weeds in the driveway, entrance way, firepit area and basically all around the house. Some Poison ivy along the driveway. Whether you park in the driveway or in front of the house, be prepared for dust from the gravel road in the front to cover your car, and you when a car goes by. Allergy sufferers beware. We were going to a wedding with no car wash nearby and the dust on our car made for an unpleasant experience. Also, lots of deer around so we had to be careful when in contact with the weeds to check ourselves for ticks which we found a few. (A 30 minute session with a weed whacker would do wonders for this place.) Inside was adequate. If you come to the mountains to sit inside and watch TV, cook or sleep, this is the place for you as the kitchen and the general areas were clean and good, as were the bedrooms. That's why the reason this got 2 stars instead of 1. Pictures inside are pretty exact to what you see Online. A nice place in the winter if you don't plan on using the outside. Know the Master's closet is a flimsy coat rack. But if you want to sit outside, be prepared for the dust and absolutely no view, along with hearing cars along the busy road three feet away from the entrance. See our pics. Pool ques had missing tips and was not a real option. We were looking forward to a relaxing weekend in the mountains, and instead had to manage the dust, and the other disappointments with this house. Would not stay here again as friends stayed at other places nearby that were better kept outside as well as inside, with views and they paid less.

Aug 2022The cabin was nice and liked location. We get to see around deers and a fox. Didnt like that they dont have blankets in closets, not everyone can travel with pillow and blankets (travel in airplane) or if someone forgot to bring on, like it happend to one of my members. Did like that they offered soap, gumpaste, tooth brush on travel size. We loved the cabin.

Apr 2018Place was beautiful. View wasn't great. No heat downstairs besides ceramic space heaters which worked well. Place had little extras that alot of rentals don't have. Coffee, filters, pancake syrup, extra trash bags etc. Only 1 towel per guest which wasn't good. Washer and dryer with washing powder a plus! Overall an excellent place to stay. Anyone wanting a get a way this is pretty perfect. Beds great and pillows amazing. Very quiet!

All the bathroom floors are heated and the downstairs bedrooms provide a ceramic heater which is needed. The upstairs did get hot when the fireplace was on but opening a window remedied that. As with other reviewers the door code provided did not work and we had to use the key from the lockbox. The dining room chairs have a weight limit of 250lbs. They had left a broken chair in the room with a sign that said do not use. We have 2 small children and they are a magnet to things they should not do so we had to find a hiding place for the broken chair. Not sure why they didn’t remove it. Several of the other chairs were bent and not stable. They should get new dining chairs. Supposedly there was a fine of $50 for not cleaning the grill after use but when we went to use it, the grill was filthy. It was filled with ash and the grates were coated with grilled on food. It was gross. My father worked on the grates for a while to make them usable and when they were finally cleaned up they were rusted. Water pressure isn’t great if multiple people are taking a shower. The property is also covered in little notes. A bit of an eyesore. Some of the notes contradict the instructions given by the rental management company so be careful to go by the emailed instructions.

The rooms were large and comfortable. The weather was a little dreary, but we did get to enjoy the large fire pit and a hike along the stream in the back. We loved the gurgle of the water when we were out on the deck. We even saw deer in the yard. It is a short winding drive to a couple of restaurants and the mercantile. We loved Beech Mountain and will definitely return. Thank you for your hospitality, the cabin is beautiful!

Jul 2020Nice log cabin with great decor. It rained most of the time we were there, but, we were able to have a fire in the pit one evening. Beautiful kitchen with nice appliances.. There were deer who came looking to be fed and the kids enjoyed that.

Feb 2019Nice home...plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our stay (10 adults, 2 children, and 2 toddlers). However, we noted several areas that would have made our stay more enjoyable...
- not enough towels (bath & hand towels)
- shower curtains moldy and too long...dragged on bathtub/shower floors
- no can opener
- no paper towels or dishwasher detergent
- wrong wifi password was provided in 'check-in' info...thank goodness correct one was on refrigerator.

Oct 2019Nice home. Clean, modern and fairly well equipped. Disappointed that the fireplace didn't work. Could have used it during a cool fall weekend. Family room tv didn't work after the first night. Not sure why. Could use more seating.

Jan 2020Location great, close to Beech Mountain resort, only a few minutes’ drive to resort parking lot and dining. House was very clean but the lack of split level heating/cooling made the upstairs bedrooms extremely hot, and the basement bedrooms extremely cold. We were a group of 13 adults and there was plenty of space for all. House was clean, nice linens, appliances, etc. Lots of check-out rules sent in advance but the notes posted within the house regarding check-out conflicted the instructions we received.
The house has WIFI and keyless entry, however both features did not work throughout the stay. The manager texted us the morning of check-in to vaguely discuss these issues and provide information for a key-box entry. They also offered "early check-in" for the inconvenience however when you have planned to arrive at the 4pm check-in time and are driving over 7 hours to get there, this was not helpful. The manager indicated that the internet had been down for over a week so she had ample time to notify the guest of the issues and offer this early arrival…
The manager said she would provide an update on the internet status but failed to communicate with us again until we left the house. We were okay with the WIFI being out, that was not the intention of our time together, however the lack of communication and forthrightness of the issue made this unacceptable. We would not stay at this property again because of the management.
In addition, the manager accused us of having another key to the house made/changing the locks because she could not get into the house. I am assuming she had the same problem we did upon arrive with the instructions we received. The lock box was hooked on a back door of the property so when we tried to open the door it was hooked on, it would not work. We had to try all of the doors in the cold weather to finally get into the house. Basically, communication is key, we didn’t even complain about the internet issue when we probably should have.

Jan 2021I rented this house for my friends 40th Birthday. We had 10 adults. Plenty of room. We loved this house and all the neighborhood deer that passed by. Would definitely rent again.
