Schöner South Lake Manistique

We had a great time. I was slightly concerned about the noise from the bar mentioned by previous visitors. We had fans and brought a white noise machine and we did not hear a thing! I actually loved walking to the restaurant/bar for dinner and floating in the lake all day. The food is delicious and pizza is phenomenal. It’s a great place for a great price. Perfect location for some days trips to paradise, taqumanon falls and Munising to take a pictures rock boat tour. Lots to do with in a short drive.

We had a great time here. The cabin was clean and nice. It was nice to be able to sit on the back deck in the morning and watch the swans on the lake. Very close to the store and restaurants, within walking distance. We will definitely be staying here again!

We enjoyed our stay very much. While it might be noisy during the summer because of its location in town, , this was not an issue for us. It was very peaceful, house was comfortable and the setting was perfect, just a few feet from the lake with a great view of the lake from the inside when we weren't enjoying it from the deck. Would definitely go back.

We come to Curtis every year during the week between Christmas and New Years for nice family ice fishing vacation. This was our first time staying at Dennis’s place. We enjoyed our stay. Dennis was very nice and always prompt in responding to us.

View was great. Fishing was good. Lots of dishes and silverware but needs new pots and pans, only one small fry pan was really usable.

Very beautiful home with perfect access to the lake. My dog enjoyed running through the clear water during our stay.

To sum this property up. Location ,location,location Owner was good to work with after walking into a big mess. He did his best to make it right. Missed communication between the owner and the cleaning crew made my cleanliness score a two and that is grading it high. The owner did apologize and buy us lunch at the shipwreck (recommended) to make up for the inconvenience. It just seemed to fall short of our expectations overall.

This was a great spot for me and my family. The grandkids loved the small beach area right outside the door. It also was centrally located for everything we wanted to see in our UP trip (about an hour from the falls, pictured rocks, ghost town).The bar 2 doors down didn't bother us at all. It was actually a very convenient in town location. Also, it was a nice surprise to have a Dollar General close by for anything else we needed. The cabin was bigger than expected. 2 queen beds in one bedroom. 1 queen in the other a large sectional couch with a pull out bed, and a love seat. There were plenty of sheets, pillows, and blankets available. Plenty of room for the 6 of us.The cabin was also very clean and had plenty of bath towels.The kitchen had more than enough plates, bowls, cups, silverware and cooking utensils.Just a couple of things to be aware of when you stay. There were several bag chairs available but most of them were broken or ripped, so you might want to bring your own.Most of the pans were rusted, luckily we brought a couple from home. The beds were not very comfortable, especially if staying multiple nights. It might be time to upgrade the mattresses.Overall it was a fantastic experience for us and I would definitely stay again!

This rental was just what we needed and was just like it was described. Perfect for our family of 4. Clean and cozy but nothing fancy. Right in downtown Curtis and great frontage on South Manistique Lake. We caught enough bluegill for a great fish dinner!

This property would be great if it was cleaned and things stored properly. One example is dirty mop in closet with clean linen. Floor was disgusting when we arrived ....soaking wet and piles of sand under rugs. Otherwise well stocked and on beautiful lake. Just clean up and storage shed needed.

This is a nice lakefront property. It is very close to a store and bar, which are right across the street. The linens were fresh and clean. The shower water pressure and hot water were good. We used the house in January for snowmobiling. The trail access is down the street around the corner. So if conditions are warm, then it's hard to get around on the snowmobiles.

This cabin was perfectly located in town. Beautiful views of the lake. It was the perfect getaway to relax and unwind.

The view is spectacular!! You can hear the waves hitting the shore all night from the back of the cabin. It is a wonderful sight and sound. The front of the cabin has late night sounds of the bar across the street, drag racing and drunk people that might interrupt your sleep. However is is a great location, on the water and in walking distance to the local grocery store and gift shops.

The property was a beautiful place and location. We truly enjoyed every minute.

The cottage was perfect for our families first time to the UP. It’s right on the lake so that was great for swimming and kayaking. It’s perfectly located on Main Street right between 2 restaurant/bars and within walking distance from ice cream and a small grocery store. The cottage itself was exactly what was advertised.

The cabin was perfect for our little family getaway. The beds were clean and comfortable and the cabin was stocked with most everything we needed. The grocery/liquor store right across the street has anything you may need. The Shipwreck and Tally Ho are just steps away for dinner/drinks. The lake is literally off the back deck and is amazing to swim in. Each night we would wander down to Goodales for ice cream which is also just steps away from the cabin. Some people have complained of the bar noise, but there were plenty of fans (white noise) throughout the house that we never noticed. If we make it back to Curtis, we will definitely stay again!! The cabin it's self was nice and the location was nice, however the pots and pans were rusted so had to be washed before you used them, and the mattress are in need of an upgrade.

The cabin and property are exactly what it says it is. It’s a great location right on the water with a beautiful view of the lake from the living room and dining room. Reception is almost nonexistent but we expected that as well.

The address needs to be a bit more visible to find the cabin. The beds are a bit hard and rough to sleep in. Some of the cooking utensils need to be updated.

Super easy check in checkout perand check out. Nice clean cabin right on the water.

Property was just as it appeared on the website. Much more room than I expected. Plenty of space to have guests visit or to hang out. Very comfortable. Near two bars, we didn't even know they were there! The people from Curtis that we met were very friendly, we felt so at home!! Walking distance, to dinner, an icecream shop, and a small grocery that supplies everything you might need in an emergency!! We WILL come back!!
