Greenhouse Siargao Eco-Beach Resort

We chose Greenhouse Siargao because of its Tripadvisor rating. The property is not really up to our standards, but maybe this is because we are not used to eco-friendly accommodations. The Good: (1) There are only 5 houses in the property. The place feels really private and peaceful. (2) The property has a lot of open spaces in a beachfront setting. (3) We like hearing the sound of the waves. (4) Food in Greenhouse Café is good.

The Bad: (1) We specifically requested for fresh towels before leaving the property every day, so we assumed that these fresh towels will be waiting for us when we return from our day tours, but no, we always have to request for fresh towels every afternoon after we arrive in our beach house. We bring towels when we go on day tours, so these towels get wet with sea water. We like to shower after we return from our tours, and we want to use fresh towels, rather than re-use towels that were already wet with sea water. At a minimum, we expected fresh towels every day. (2) The beach house is not cleaned every day. We expected that floors will be swept every day because guests unavoidably bring sand to the rooms. It is not nice to return from a day tour to a dirty floor. If there is a broom in the beach house, we would be happy to sweep the floors ourselves, but there is no broom. We stayed for 3 nights and the room was cleaned on the third day only, and the cleaners forgot to take out the garbage in all the trash cans after they have cleaned. (3) The faucet is constantly leaking; not sure how eco-friendly this is. Their cleaners have surely seen this leaking faucet. (4) The roof is leaking in the main bedroom and some of our stuff got wet. (5) If you are going to ask for surf lessons, please be sure to get the quote in writing to avoid any miscommunications. (6) On the day we left, there were torrential rains, we asked the manager if she knew the airport’s number so that we can call to ask if our flight is delayed or cancelled. The airport number we can find online is not working. We had expected that the manager would know how to contact the airport, but she did not know the airport’s number as well. It would also have been nice if the manager offered to help us in case our flight was cancelled, e.g. arrange for transfer back to General Luna and to stay at the premises again, but no help was offered. There were no outgoing Cebu Pacific flights that day.

The staff were excellent and Khing was very helpful. The food was delicious. It's on the beachfront and a short walk or bike ride from everything. There is strong fans and AC in the shack. Overall, a good experience.

We were in shack 4, which isnt sealed so mosquitoes get in everywhere, but they do have nets over the beds.. The bathroom and kitchen could do with a renovation. There was wood rot and mould. Shower pressure wasn't great. The bed linen was stained. For the money you pay, it could be better presented.

extremely friendly staff ! thanks for the hospitality the territory is not too big - only a few villas, so it makes the atmosphere very private and cozy a great bonus was the cafe & restaurant, with great food, very convenient for eating dinner or during the day our villa also had the fridge pre-filled with beers (for purchase), which was very convenient convenient location, close to both cloud 9 and general luna - we could walk in both direction to explore

everything. very relaxing

Beach house I had for 4 nights was amazing, the view and atmosphere there was fantastic. Highly recommended. Thanks to staff that they was so nice and food was sooo good :)
