Parkes Manor

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was excellent. My car was even washed for me.

We have travelled to Knysna for the past 11 years and this the best place we have stayed. This place has classical elegance with beautifully maintained gardens.

We had an amazing stay at Parkes Manor. Jan Hendrik Made us feel very welcome! Service, rooms, breakfast, helping us with transport, everything was perfect. We stayed at newyears eve and there was a bottle of champagne for us in the fridge. Definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!

Very nice location, lovely garden and pool area, warm and welcoming staff, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Everything was really spotless and the breakfast was amazing!

This hotel is located in an old mansion, and it felt like we were staying in a piece of living history. The period details were stunning! We stayed in one of the Suites with a Lagoon View and I can’t recommend it enough. Our room was on the second floor with a huge wraparound balcony (connecting to all the other rooms on the floor but with a small fence separating each) and a gorgeous view of the Knysna waterfront. In addition to a spacious room with a view, the bathroom was also amazing. The rain shower was by far the best of the trip, and I wish we’d had a chance to have a bath in the clawfoot tub. We loved wandering around the hotel and grounds, just taking everything in. At night, there is a little bar in a room off the hotel’s foyer and it was so cool to enjoy a drink while looking at old black-and-white photos of the family who used to live in the house. I also really enjoyed our breakfast, which is served in another gorgeous room with carved ceilings and an old fireplace, and which includes both a cold buffet and a made-to-order hot meal.

The only slight con when it comes to this hotel is that it is located in more of a residential neighborhood. It is still only minutes from everything, but it does mean that you will need to drive to dinner rather than walk. Not a problem at all but just something I wanted to note!

It would be the most sensational place to stay if the house had just a slight improvement on the internal maintenance.

Stunning location, huge bedrooms with beautiful views of the lagoon, great breakfast, superb service from all the staff. Inviting lounge with sherry on arrival in front of a crackling fireplace. Felt like we were royalty staying in our own private manor!
