This is an adventure place, located virtually in the bush. I liked the very friendly staff. I took the cottage and good breakfast was served on the veranda. Cool place! The access way of 149 steps is (as advertised) nothing for those who don’t like exerises.
The place needs quite a few fixes. Shower beam very weak, toilet seat broken, and the staircase would probably be rated as “dangerous” for European or Northamerican standards. I paid NZD 92 for two nights off season (October), which is clearly overpriced (I wouldn’t stay there for this price again!). A fair price would be about NZD 30/night or a maximum of PHP 1,000. Booking asked me a bonus question about the coffee, instant as usual in the PH. A French press would do a much better job.

The view from the hut was amazing, a huge balcony and Armstrong our host was so obliging
The steps I struggled a bit but I'm 69, if you have heavy suitcases would be very difficult. It was a bit hard to find need to have a,few signs.

The host went above and beyond expectations, assisting us with luggage, booking, transfers, tips and offering coffee at all times, you couldn't find better! Location is great, close to town and the beach yet you feel like you're in the woods. Substantial breakfast. We hope to return
Scenic view of town partially obstructed by trees
great experience! 100% recommendedJan 2023
The host was extremely friendly! went to pick us op right away from the point that was most near the treehouse. He will directly arrange a lot for you (pick up with the van, scooters, breakfast) and has it fixed without any fuss. always happy to help.
the treehouse was amazing!! it was at the main area in the center but also more quiet because we were up in the trees. you had an amazing view and the beds were really comfortabel. they have a mosquito net but we didn’t even use it cause the room was quite closed off anyways, so we did not have any mosquitos. the breakfast was served on the balcony and it was great as well! loved the experience and I think it was the best location/housing/price you can get in El Nido.
there was no hot shower and no mirror. for me it was fine but still it would be nice. everybody talks about it and they also warn you about it, but the steps! take the warning seriously cause it is really steep and at times it did not feel completely safe. we are quite fit so it was fine but i don’t think an elderly person could do this.
the only feedback I have is to fix the quality of the steps because sometimes they feel wobly and unsafe

The way to get in and the smell all around was awful
A calming, restorative location made ever more enjoyable by a compassionate hostNov 2022
My favour aspect was the fact we were situated up in the tree tops away from the hustle of town. To get to the property it was a lovely walk along the beach, through passages around the back of local homes and up on a hill. My friend and I enjoyed a morning spent relaxing on the little terrace, amongst the trees and wildlife, it was our own secluded paradise whilst only a very short walk into town. Above all though, Armstrong was a delightful man who is very caring and down to earth, he gives any left over money he has to the poorer children in the village. He also makes very delicious pancakes and kindly did our laundry for us.

I was met from the ferry by Armstrong, a gentleman who couldn’t do enough for you. He showed me the key places in town, organised tours, bus transfers etc. Yes you do have to climb approx 100 steps and they never seem to get any easier, however it’s worth it to be away from the hustle and bustle of town. Facilities clean and the breakfast was delicious.

It makes you the strongest person in El Nido. And they had a monkey! Marlo y amstrong/franklin were the best hosters i'ever had
Maybe the fact that we had to climb 200 steps without any light around ants, Spiders ans dogs.

Stairs to go to the room are many and hard to find at night.

Armstrong was very hospitable and helpful during our stay. he met us in town and carried our bag to our room. there are a few stairs to walk up but it was not bad and worth it to be away from the busyness and noise in El Nido. Armstrong can help you organise island hopping and anything else you need help with. we also got great pancakes for breakfast! thanks again for having us

Beautiful setting close to the beach and restaurants.Jan 2023
Armstrong was so helpful and very kind. The setting is beautiful and the room had everything that we needed.
The steps up are very steep, do not underestimate the warning before you book.

Armstrong has a unique set up of two huts set high above El Nido in the jungle ( he helps with the bags!!) Perfect place to spend a few days with the bright lights at the bottom of the steps. He is the most wonderful person. Will do anything for you. Thanks so much Armstrong!
Nothing. If you are fit the steps are no issue.

149 steps to heaven. Magical hospitality....
In a wooden house on the cliff of the mountain overlooking the sea... Big bed, bathroom and lovely balcony. So close to nature... We were welcomed and accompanied throughout our entire stay by Mr. Armstrong who took care of everything we asked for and what we didn't (on his own initiative he did laundry for us for the dirty clothes we hung outside). Every morning he brought us breakfast and help us in booking our island tours...The view and the surrounding landscape was amazing and nothing more to ask for. It is true that there are 149 steps, not easy, but each step is worth the effort and the value you get is something you will remeber. Not a standard room, not a standard place; But not a standard experience either. This is an experience to add to your private photo album. We highly recommend.
