Geckoes Lodge

We loved being in the tropical nature. Managed to take a few photos of cool birds and a cute baby sloth.. The fabulous breakfast (upon request and extra charge) was plentiful and included our favorite French press coffee/juice, fresh breads from a local bakery, eggs, fruit and granola yogurt. We enjoyed it very much, however, after couple of days it became a bit repetitive... should have asked for more variety...like pancakes or omelettes. Maybe next time around.:) The owners were very accommodating and super friendly. It was a pleasurable stay at their property. Thank you, Tine & Rene!

It was a wonderful to experience living open air in this beautiful garden. The only drawback was occasionally hearing loud vehicles from the road.. Bring in some ear plugs, if that bothers you.

Best decision ever to stay there for a few nights. At first we were a little hesitant to book it because the house doesn’t have any walls. But we are so glad that we did it! It is a truly unique experience to be able to hear every sound of the jungle, day and night. Surprisingly we weren’t visited by too many critters. Just a huge grasshopper and a few smaller bugs. We didn’t see any spiders in the house. You can safely lock away any valuables in a safe in the house and in a big cupboard. The house has a beautiful open design and tasteful decoration. It has it’s own kitchen and a bathroom. It is easy to find. The property is not on a paved road. It was a little bumpy but not steep. We had a small 4x4 and had no problems to get there. Tine is a very very nice host. The jungle garden is great. We were able to see sloths, toucans, colibris, agutis and all other kind of wildlife from our porch. The only thing missing was a hammock to make it even more perfect. The last morning we ordered the breakfast (at extra cost). We loved to be able to enjoy it on the balcony, watching the animals in the garden. We would definitely stay there again!
