Dec 2022Wow! That was our first thought when we pulled up to Gardens of the Kai #11. This bungalow is set in an absolutely beautiful spot on Grand Cayman. It was exactly as depicted on the VRBO site. Perfect for a couple. We relaxed on the lanai each morning with a stunning view of the ocean. Everything about the unit was great. It is very quiet and peaceful on this part of the island, which we truly enjoyed. Highly recommend this spot.

Oct 2022We were 2 happy people when Grand Cayman opened her borders. We were even happier to be returning to our favorite accommodations on the island. It was secluded and quiet and just a slice of heaven. As always, the home was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The only negative is that the bed was hard. Everything else was perfect as always. Thanks so much, Mitch, for sharing your lovely bungalow with us.

Dec 2022We've been to Cayman many times but first stayed at the Gardens #11 in December 2019 and vowed when we left, we would be back the next year. Never could we have imagined that it would be three cancelled trips and three years before we could fulfill that promise. So, this stay was even sweeter. We used the beach more than ever - just soaking in the views and the peaceful waters. The villa looks fantastic. The new paint in the kitchen and bathroom is fresh and clean and the new showerhead provides the best shower in the Caribbean! We love Kaibo Yacht Club's beach bar-b-q on Tuesday evening and can't wait for Rum Point's return.

Jul 2022We loved our stay in Kaibo! The condo was perfect for us! The kitchen had everything we needed! The bed was very comfortable! We used the kayaks and had a blast! We found plenty of towels and beach towels! We had the beach to ourselves! Loved our stay! Thank you!

Felt very safe thru COVID with the travel.
This is a perfect spot - a bit isolated but perfect to avoid the crowds. I recommend renting a car and getting groceries on your way to the property. The house has everything you may need to cook anything. Loved the kayak for a little exercise after a day of lounging poolside. We drove to 7 mile beach a few days and enjoyed returning to the peaceful quiet side of Rum Point. Will definitely be back. My only add on is I wish there were bikes available or somewhere to rent but this is COVID. The safety precautions the island take are wonderful and the owner Mitch was great to work with.

Oct 2019We found the property exactly as described and check-in was easy. Definitely enjoyed the amazing views from the lanai. Paddle board was a plus!!! The only negative was the construction on both sides of the condo beginning at 8-5 each weekday. It was really noisy with a water pump on the right job site, which ran continuously, and a jack hammer on the left job site. Some days it was too noisy to sit at the beach. We realize this is not the owners fault, but just be aware. Construction is no where near complete.

Oct 2022We celebrated our anniversary/husband bday here. This wonderful bungalow is located on Rum Point. It is about 45-60 min to seven mile beach, but the private beach, starfish in the water and peaceful relaxation are well worth it. There is a kayak and paddle board available at the unit and you can easily kayak to Starfish Pointe(but may not need to since we saw them at our beach). There is a grocery store about 10 mins down the road that has a pretty good selection or there is a Fosters grocery about 20 mins away. There is a yummy restaurant/bar directly across the street with beautiful views. I would absolutely recommend this property.

May 2022This was the perfect little villa! You step right out on the sand to a beautiful view and quiet beach.. There are gorgeous starfish everywhere. You can snorkel right off the beach or you can walk or kayak to Starfish point to see more. You can also kayak to the other bays through the crystal clear water. We had an amazing dinner at Upstairs at Kaibo Beach Club (right across the street) and it was nice to be able to walk over to the Beach Club for a beer or bite to eat. We also loved having a well appointed kitchen and the grill came in handy. Highly recommend calling White Sands and doing the 7am snorkel trip to Stingray City, it was amazing! Mitch gave us great recommendations for restaraunts and we also cooked many of our meals in as well. This side of the island is completely opposite of 7 Mile Beach. You have no crowds and you get a good feeling of the local laid back vibe. We explored the entire North/East side of the island and found beauty everywhere. We ended our stay on 7 Mile Beach and while the beach and water are absolutely gorgeous, we missed our peaceful paradise at Mitch’s place.

It is not close to the main tourist area, which will require some driving for groceries and tours, but…it’s away from all the people, including cruise folks so it’s peaceful. A great trade off for us. It had everything we needed. Loved the screened in lanai the most! The view was terrific. Starfish at the beach too! Snorkeled right there and it was great. I recommend this condo for a regeneration of the spirit and beautiful views.

The location is perfect if you're looking for the non-tourist (non 7 mile) side of the island. Minutes kayak trip to Starfish Point or Bioluminesence Bay (tandem kayak and life vests provided). Kaibo Yacht Club across the street has a great menu serving food and drinks and is home to multiple charters, including Sting Ray City. The only drawback to the whole trip is Rum Point was closed for refurbishments, but this just gives us a reason to come back. Would definitely book this property again and recommend to anyone looking for a nice, tranquil but convenient location in the Caymans. By the way, the owner Mitch was great to work with too.

Mar 2020This property delivered everything that it promised and more! Honestly there is no review I could write that would do it justice! The property owners were quick and timely with their response to our booking request. They provided outstanding recommendations for restaurants and outdoor excursions. Getting to the villa was simple (once we got used to driving on the wrong side of the road 😂�) The house was clean, spacious, and perfect for 2 people. The view, OMG, was unbelievable! Never in my life have I seen water this blue! Every single day we got to see starfish and we even had a stingray venture up onto our beach one morning. The access to the paddle board and kayak provided by the owners were appreciated and allowed us to explore the bay and starfish point away from shore. The location is quiet, peaceful, and away from the cruise ship craziness of Georgetown. It was exactly what we were looking for! This was a once in a lifetime experience for us and we thoroughly enjoyed every second of it!

Oct 2019This marked our 5th year of using this awesome villa. We loved everything about it with one minor exception, the air conditioning. Last year we came the same time of year and the ac's were perfect. This year we had issues and the owner responded immediately but it still left a little to be desired. The bedroom only stayed cool because we closed the doors. The Kitchen, Livingroom never got comfortable. All that said this is a typical maintenance issue and we will be coming back!!!

Sep 2022This home was well appointed, in a lovely location. We wish we had known that Kaibo, the ferry and Red Sails were closed this time of year. This left few eating options with the closest being Over the Edge and East End restaurants. Most places are closed since this is the off season. Overall if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay away from the busy SMB this is it! We enjoyed our stay.

The VRBO pics were photoshopped for some reason, which I was worried about, but the actual views and villa are way better than they look on the site! Rum point is quiet and relaxing.. completely different vibe from the over run touristy Georgetown area. That said, in 45 min you can be in Georgetown if you’d like. I highly recommend driving the east coast from rum point.. amazing area! Highly recommend this villa

Dec 2019The location of this unit can not be beat if you’re looking for a relaxing, off the beaten path vacation. Kaibo across the street is available if you choose to eat out and do not want to drive. Otherwise, stop at Hurley’s on your way from the airport to pick up your groceries and you won’t ever have to leave.
All new furniture throughout. The bed is very firm (memory foam) but comfortable. All appliances in working condition. An ice maker would be nice though!
The only downside to staying as stated in a previous review is a house being built on the adjacent property. Speaking with the owner of the home being built it will be another 9-12 months before it is complete. You cannot escape the sound of jackhammers, sawing and hammering and it does detract from the otherwise perfectly relaxing location.

Oct 2022The hosts truly provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy all the best of the north side of Grand Cayman at their villa! Pictures posted are certainly beautiful but in person the view and beach/water access are simply stunning! Kayak & paddle board were fantastic amenities- able to be on the water easily while no nearby rental options available this week due to off season & renovations. Lanai is perfectly appointed - great for enjoying both early morning and post-sun down. Highly recommend this property to both newcomers or returnees to the Island. It was a fantastic week and just what we needed to get away! Thank you for sharing your villa!

Aug 2022The home was lovely, and in a great location (walking distance to Kaibo). The screen porch was perfect for those quiet nights and to stay bug free. My husband and I stayed a little less than a week - and found the space to be perfect for our needs. Would happily come back!
