Beautiful Villa
We were very impressed with the view, the infinity pool and the comfortable furniture. The size of the decks and number of areas to sit and relax was amazing. Ronald was in Curaçao during our stay and immediately took care of problems with the AC in one bedroom and tuning in the TV. He even graciously allowed my wife and I to use his personal master suite since the AC was broken in our bedroom. The only con is that there is no cable or satellite TV—only Netflix and few other channels are available. All in all, a wonderful visit to Villa Barbulete!

Amazing Villa that was hard to leave!
We spent a month at Villa Barbulete and weren't ready to leave! The location and views are spectacular. The home is well equipped, clean, spacious and beautiful. The (new) managers were personable and quick to respond. Pre-trip communication with the owners was terrific. The instructions to get to the property from the airport were spot on and included helpful photos. They also sent a complete information document with restaurant and grocery recommendations, things to do, etc in addition to basic house info. We were 2 adults so no problem with the additional bedrooms being on a lower floor with no access through the home. If you are traveling with young children it may be an issue. We did struggle with the microwave/convection oven and never got the microwave function to work. Don't know if it is broken or if it was operator error. Other than that, the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve a meal. The large outdoor gas grill is brand new. The king size bed in the master bedroom is really two twins pushed together, each with separate sheets and duvets. The pillows could use replacing. With such a long stay, we were happy to have a washer and dryer. They are very tiny. If you need to launder towels and bedding for a lot of guests, prepare to do multiple loads. There is a large drying line outside that was great for wet swimsuits. We saw some previous guests complaining about the lack of air conditioning in the main living area. It was never a problem for us as there is always a nice breeze when you open the doors and windows. The numerous outdoor seating areas always gave options for choosing a cool place to enjoy whatever you are doing. Be aware, it's the tropics so bring bug spray for the biting bugs! The home is in a residential area. Quiet at night but there were some evenings of constant barking dogs and there is currently a lot of construction in the neighborhood during the day. We liked the location of the villa on the island. It is about half way between the less congested Westpunt area with it's parks and hiking and Willemstad. Cas Abou Beach is at the bottom of the hill so very convenient. There are many other beaches within a short drive. There are a couple of smaller grocery stores close by and it was only a 20-30 minute drive to the larger and better stocked groceries closer to Willemstad. Did we mention the sunsets...the views...AMAZING!

A Slice of Paradise
We reserved this property for our delayed honeymoon and it was well worth the wait a year after our wedding! We left the airport as soon as we received our rental vehicle and made our way to the property. Although we researched the area and reviewed maps, it was still a bit further than we initially anticipated. Our property manager contacted us via email when our flight landed and apologized for not checking us in, which we considered a bit unique as we wanted a walkthrough to review any prior damage and to learn more about the property (i.e., location of specific light switches, appliances, etc.). Also, the keypad for the security gate leading into the neighborhood was extremely glitchy and took more than several attempts to open each time. Also, the remote for the gate at the property itself was broken and we had to manually open and close the gate each time we left and returned to the property. The issues we encountered were minor inconveniences/first-world problems and weren't deal-breakers. The property was *extremely* spacious and clean. The views were incredible and the flora/fauna was amazing. We really enjoyed listening to the tropical birds in the morning and having breakfast on the balcony each day. We also used their towels which was very handy during beach days. The security guards at the first gate into the neighborhood were incredibly friendly and gave us ideas as to local eateries and what to watch for. The property manager's assistant came to check us out and we loved talking with her and hearing her story! Our overall impression: You will NOT be disappointed! Be prepared to fall in love with the beauty of the island, its people, and its culture. Many thanks to the property owners for allowing us to use their home! We hope to return to this slice of paradise upon our next visit. Masha danki! PBG
