What a fantastic week we had at shambala. It was our little bit of paradise after our adventures during the day. There was 6 of us- 4 teens, and they loved snorkeling and kayaking out on the coral reef.Shambala is beautiful and had every amenity! The staff made it so memorable, they are so sweet and really blessed us every day with their smiles! We were spoiled by them, they even did our personal laundry every day. Our favorite night was when chef Seviri and the girls made a traditional Lovo meal, what a feast! We had so much amazing food, we asked the ladies and Seviri to join us. Our teen boys really loved helping them with the Lovo meal. We really thought the location was great, we’re not fans of touristy areas, and we felt that we were in true Fiji. Joel was a great host, and we can’t wait to come back!

Amazing Views, Wonderful kind staff! Comfortable beds with AC and Screened Windows a PLUS!!
This was an incredible property to live in during our duration and stay in FIJI. This home is located on the beautiful Coral Coast, tucked away out of the hustle and bustle but just a short 1.5 hours from the airport. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and housekeepers who quickly became our friends and guides. The house is absoutely stunning, set above the beach with beach access, the view was wonderful to take in each morning and evening. The beach below is calm, perfect for kayaking, and for littles. Reccomend reef shoes. The flexible and ease of arranging local taxi with Immy was great, we never felt unsafe going to and from the house. My only reccomendations for changes or improvement: please ensure bathroom are stocked with plenty of toilet paper, and face/wash clothes or let us know and we can plan in advance to provide on our own. Also, the kayaks were not in good use- we found them to have cracks or holes which led to partial sinking. We were not able to use the water toys either, the floaties all had holes in them. None of these cons are a deal breaker; just options for improvement. I still give 5 stars.

The staff was great and we were grateful for their kindness. The property is for sale and it doesnt seem to be kept as well as the surrounding properties. The property is in need of repairs. I wish that I could upload photos of the conditions.1. The washer was broken for our last three days and the laundry room flooded.2. Ant infestation in all the bedrooms. We didnt unpack our luggage in fear of taking the infestation to our next destination.3. The pool was cloudy the first few days. We were testing our personal snorkeling gear in the pool and visibility was less than one foot .4. A deck treatment is overdue. Which causes the deck to be very slippery after the slightness rain.5. Be careful going to the ocean, the clay/stone at the bottom of the stairs is very slippery. My father-in-law had a terrible spill and nearly broke his arm.6. Make sure you take inventory of the equipment. We were accused of losing two of the kayaks and owner threatened to charge me for them. Thank goodness I had taken photos when we arrived(which are time stamped) of the beach (which included the equipment). Below is part of the statement that owner sent me via email.Ive just been informed by a fisherman they have found one of the houses (shambala) kayaks out at sea, which is very lucky, And now just ive had my manager Sala check, it turns out two kayaks are missing. You obviously have left them on the beach and high tide has taken them. I found the statement very rude and accusatory without any facts or evidence. As a matter of fact... the kayaks, paddle boards and paddles are all unlocked (unsecured) and can be taken by anyone walking the beach. 7. The owner came out after we had been there a couple days to adjust the chemical levels in the pool to help clear the water and I found it strange that he didnt introduce himself to us. I noticed that someone was working on the pool and initiated the Hello and his only reply was Hi. Not a Sorry that the pool isnt clean, Are you guys enjoying your stay?, Is there anything you guys need?. I only knew it was him because of his photo on the site. The owners attitude made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable.Until theres new ownership and the place has been repaired, I would select one of the other beautiful properties in the area.
