Great View Villa Galant Curaçao

We spent two weeks during Christmas and NYE at the villa. The villa has a great location - the view of the sea is even better than on pictures. It literally takes you two minutes by car to get to the beach which is fairly small and convenient and has an easy access and shower. Do not forget your snorkelling gear and dive shoes - it is worth swimming around there. The smartest thing that owners did was to replace the fence in front of the villa with glass - that added a lot to enjoyment. The villa is most appreciated till early afternoon and of course at sunset - the best view you can get and yes, please take the googles with you. Bedrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with all necessary things. You have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the outdoor table with the view to die for. Kitchen is fully equipped - there is a new fridge, microwave, dishwasher, oven and even a nespresso coffee machine. There is also a washing machine (we used it a lot) and a dryer (never used as clothes dry fast outdoor). Pool is small but quite deep and there is a shower to rinse your body after swimming. We asked Olga, the manager to do some food provisioning and she did that pretty well. Coral Estate has good security so you feel yourself pretty safe everywhere. We started to feed a small cat that came to our house. We also saw iguanas, hummingbirds and other interesting birds. Overall it is a great place - travelling extensively around Curucao I may say that perhaps Santa Barbara Estate at Spanish Waters is of similar quality but it does not offer such a great view. Enjoyed our holidays a lot.

There are few things that can be improved. If you splash water swimming in the pool one of the fuses goes out and you can not switch on the lights on the terrace before the water dries up - can take couple of hours. The kitchen and seating area do not have air conditioning, so during the day you can open all doors and create a good breeze that helps, though on a sunny day between 2 pm and 4.30 pm it gets hot anyway. Only one bedroom downstairs has double glazing. The rest of the house has easy access for flies and mosquitoes even if you close the door - so please take some repellent with you though it does not always help. Next door villa (649) is pretty large and when someone lives there you can hear the neighbours often. Some of the facilities are a bit tired and overall the house would appreciate having an owner on site more often.

We have stayed at Coral Estates for 3 years and love the resort and complex.

The Villa was a disappointment from the time we arrived. Very tired, loose unstained deck boards, ripped furniture, no screens on any of the windows just shutters without glass even. For the amount of money we paid and the marketing of luxury accommodations it was definately not luxury. The 2nd night a Rat, not a mouse jumped out of the back of the stove and ran along the counter. We were horrified. After several nights with rats and no sleep we had to find other accommodations, and the owner accepted no responsibility. We actually bought rat traps and caught 2 on our final night. We booked 28 days and left after 9 nights.

House was equipped at a very high standard. House offers a lot of space.

Inside the estate there are only sunbeds at the beach you have to pay for.

We were charged an additional usd284 for electricity and water, although we were saving money. The meter and how much we used was not shown to us. There is no such thing anywhere :((
