Schöne Ocean Front Sea Lodge in Cayman Kai

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! If you want to get away from it all, stay in this sea lodge in October. We had the whole beach to ourselves, comfy king size bed, a kitchen that was good enough to cook for two, and great hot water showers. The AC worked great and the view was amazing. If we visit the Cayman’s again we will book this same lodge. Very affordable and cozy.

We loved every minute of our stay. Its in a perfect location if your looking to stay away from the crowds and the tourist traps. We had a small issue with the AC fuze and i just needed to find the fuze box. Dave was very responsive and available both though voice and text.

Unit number 11 is exactly as advertised. Great location.

This unit is facing the beach & sea. It is a small piece of heaven on earth. We could not have been happier with David’s help in sending us brochures ahead of time & helpful hints of places to shop & eat near us. We could not find anything missing from this property. The screened in sitting & dining area is a bonus. We hated to leave.

This property was very close to the beach and although the furniture was a little dated, everything you could want was in the kitchen. We couldn't believe how expensive dinner was at Cayman restaurants so we found ourselves eating in more often. Expect to spend $200 for a decent but not extravagant dinner. it is in the less built-up up part of the island and you have to drive for everything. We were okay with that because we enjoyed the beach. We thought our place had very good value and we enjoyed our stay.

This place was cozy and had all the amenities we needed. Communication with the owner was quick and easy via email. Very responsive. The cottage has beautiful views of the ocean from both bedroom windows and the AC unit almost made it too cool. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. If I had to find one thing to review poorly, to make this seem less like a paid review, I’d say the shower head was awful. 😂 pretty weak con for a place that had all the pros you’re looking for if you’re trying to find a place away from the hustle abs bustle but is literally minutes away from rum point and starfish beach. The beach outside was beautiful as well with thatched shade and plenty of chairs. Loved it. Can’t wait to come back.

This is a fabulous spot to disconnect overlooking the beautiful Caribbean. The unit is right on the beach, it has everything you need and the owner is so very helpful from start to finish. We will definitely go back, and highly recommend Unit 11 of the Sea Lodges at Cayman Kai!

There were many things to like about the rental. We loved the full sized washer and dryer and water heater. The air conditioners were great- quiet and efficient. The kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom was clean and adequate. The following did not spoil our stay but could be better. We didn’t like the vinyl chair and couch cushions. The television was tiny with terrible sound. The WiFi was nonexistent unless you sat out on the front porch, so catching up on the news or sending texts while inside was impossible. We initially thought that being nearest the beach was positive feature but with the walkway so close, people passed within a few feet of the bedroom and the back lanai as they walked by- sheers on the curtain rods would preserve privacy and let light in. Also, the condo is oriented toward the commonly prevailing wind so the lanai was subject to blowing sand. Overall, the owner was very pleasant and as accommodating as he could be. We had a lovely time and a few upgrades would add a couple of stars to our rating.

The place was amazing. Location was perfect, house was well stocked. Views from the house are the best I've ever seen. It feels like a private beach in your front yard and restaurants/activities are very close. The pictures don't even capture how perfectly incredible this place is. The owner was also very quick to reply with questions. Highly recommend this VRBO.

Sea lodge was just as described, with lots of extras in the unit. comfortable and right on the water with an amazing view. Owner was easy to communicate with and very responsive. There is a sandy beach right outside your door, but as you walk into the water the bottom can be rocky with lots of sea grass. Not a big deal if you know this ahead of time, as we did, and bring water shoes. You can swim about 100 yards out to snorkel. You'll need a car as this is on the North side. Just as an FYI, because everyone is looking for different experiences, its a very quiet part of the island, far away from the cruise ships, hotels, restaurants and shopping on seven mile beach (which is, personally, why we chose and enjoyed this place) Short walk to Cayman kayaks and Rum Point. Would absolutely rent again if we come back!

Really enjoyed spending time here. The location is removed from all the hustle and bustle of George Town and 7 Mile Beach. If you are looking for a very quiet location this is your spot. Convenient to beach.

Our family of 4 stayed at this condor for two weeks. The kitchen is great and the bathroom is updated with nice decor. Everything was very clean and we loved having a washer and dryer in the unit. We ate most of our meals outside on the porch, as the view was incredible. Our children are 8 and 10 and had such a great time snorkeling. It was so convenient to just hop in the water and the sea creatures were incredible. There are two great beach restaurants nearby at Rum Point. Almost all of the tours leave from Rum Point so this is a great location. The highlights of our trip were, a bioluminescence tour, Sting Ray City, swimming with the dolphins, crystal caves, celebrating news years eve on the beach with fireworks at Rum Point and snorkeling in front of the condo. Renting a car is a necessity to get around. We did swim and snorkel at SMB and other locations but it was so crowded, we preferred to stay near the condo. Dave mailed a package to us prior to our trip with instructions, tips and lots of brochures that were very helpful. We highly recommend staying here.

My husband and I stayed here for 9 days and it was amazing! The location is just about a 2 or 3 minute drive to Rum Point - close enough to visit anytime we wanted but far enough away from all of noise. The view was breathtaking and the snorkeling was exceptional -- just a few feet from the shore! Everything was provided: towels, sheets, a fully stocked kitchen, even a washer and dryer. There are a few restaurants around and even a small grocery store that we frequented so there was no worry about having to drive to Georgetown for anything. I couldn't have asked for a better place for the two of us. The owner is so quick to respond to any questions I had about the place too. He literally answered within a few​ minutes! Thank you for letting us stay... We'll definitely be back!

Loved the rental. It was thoughtfully supplied with everything anyone could need and use for a vacation. It’s right on the beach and felt very private there. The air conditioning was wonderful, the screened in porch was a great feature, it was clean and comfortable and well stocked. We loved our time there and had fun snorkeling the reef right there. The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars wasn’t because of the property or the comfort of the condo or anything, but because there was somewhat of an ant issue. I know that isn’t the owners fault or anything, and we saw he put out some ant traps. But there were sugar ants all over which was annoying but bearable. However the worst ones were these flying guys who came out after dark that were a bit freakier and we had to kill several of them each night. It still wasn’t that bad at all and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there if they’re looking for a great private condo near Rum Point! Thank you all for a great vacation!

Had a great time staying here, it was just as expected. The wind was blowing 20-30mph ENE, so we didn't do much snorkeling in front of the condo, but what we did see was nice. The breeze through the condo kept us nice and cool without needing the A/C, and the views were wonderful. We had everything we needed to cook for ourselves when we wanted. We did our scuba diving on the west side because of the wind, which was a bit of a drive (45 mins without traffic), but that was expected. The only problem was the wifi internet access in the condo was spotty, as the wifi hub was located in a different unit, and the signal in our condo was not strong. In talking to some owners in neighboring units, it sounds like they are considering rewiring the units for fiber, which would help.
