Jan 2015When you see the pictures you wonder if it will be as nice as it looks in the pictures. Well It is. This place is amazing. A suggestion. Stock up at the supermarket before you get there. The market it 25 minutes away. There are great restaurants nearby and Rum Point Beach is steps away. You cannot beat the view.
The view from the deck is where you will want to be for the rest of you life. Clean and nicely equipped. Great snorkeling nearby. Great find.

Mar 2015We traveled with friends to the beautiful Rum Point Retreat for a week stay! The accommodations were absolutely beautiful and the view from the patio was indescribable! We felt so welcome when we first entered the home as our hosts welcomed us with a gift of Tortuga Rum cake and a book about the Island. Morning coffee and dinner after sunset on the screened in patio was a favorite time for all of us. The beach was clean, stunning and a superb place to spend the day and watch the sunset. Although the beach was private and quiet, you were only a few short steps away from a lively bar/restaurant and souvenir shop. The area provided us with ongoing entertainment such as snorkeling, sting ray city, starfish point, and Georgetown just a drive away. In the evening, it was wonderful to retire to our own separate bed/bathroom retreats! I would highly recommended The Retreat and we hope that we have the opportunity to return some day!

Mar 2014We recently stayed here for a week long family vacation. There were 7 of us total (ages 3 yrs to 60yrs) and had more than enough room. We arrived in the evening and found a delicious Tortuga Rum Cake as well as a booklet on the Cayman Islands for us. The condo is decorated/furnished beautifully and has everything you need while on vacation. You can leave your beach towels, snorkel gear and beach toys at home as there are plenty there for everyone to use. Since we arrived after the sun had set, we didn't get to see the amazing views until we woke up the next morning. All three bedrooms had a view of the ocean!! I was worried the beach would be crowded but it wasn't at all! There were plenty of spots to choose from, whether you wanted direct sun or complete shade! The water was breathtaking with the most beautiful shades of blue I have ever seen! To the far right of the beach, there was a rocky bottom entrance which was perfect for the snorkelers in the group. The rest of the beach had a sandy bottom which was perfect for my two small children. We did eat out at the neighboring restaurant one evening and had a wonderful time. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was fantastic! We ventured away from Rum Point for one day during our visit. We spent that day visiting Turtle Farm and Dolphin Discovery. I recommend doing both of these. On our last full day, we took the glass bottom boat to Stingray City. It was an unbelievable experience!
All the people that we met while at Rum Point, whether they were vacationers or Islanders, were so friendly. It was very hard to leave to come back home. We hope to return soon!

Nov 2022We loved our stay in this gorgeous unit! The view was incredible (ocean truly right outside the window) and the private beach was delightful. Everything you need was supplied including beach towels which was much appreciated! Nearby Kaibo restraint was great for coffee or espresso in the morning or a fantastic chef's tasting menu at night. I highly recommend this beautiful property!

May 2013We have just returned from a week at this property and it was everything we could have hoped for! The condo is beautifully appointed, spacious, and - most importantly - very clean. Rum Point is an ideal spot for a family vacation. The beach is just steps away from the door, there's screened in porch and a roof deck with great views of the water. The kids had a great time swimming and snorkeling in the calm shallow waters of the bay, and when they were feeling more adventurous we walked down the beach on the ocean side to snorkel the reef - and were treated to views of just about every ocean creature that we could imagine. We were travelling with extended family and did a lot of cooking in the condo - all the gadgets and gizmos we needed in the kitchen were there, and there was plenty of room to host all 13 of us for dinner between the kitchen, dining area, and screened porch. There was also a wide variety of snorkel equipment in the condo. Every evening we sat out on the beach and watched the spectacular sunset. The office staff were great - whether it was printing off boarding passes or coming through with a first aid kit when we needed it. The bar next door was a fun place to go for lunch or a quick drink. Although you would never have to leave the Rum Point area to have a great time, we did take a day to go into Georgetown for more snorkeling and a little shopping, and we took the catamaran trip to Stingray City which we set up with the friendly people at the dive shop next door. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives and hope to have a chance to stay there again ourselves.

Mar 2015This is a fantastic property right on the Beach. Unit is clean and pictures are accurate. Very nice balcony and screened in porch that overlooks beach/ocean. Great snorkeling and view of the sunset. Had a group of six and we had plenty of room. Nice to have laundry and we able to cook our meals on site. Location is perfect. We really couldn't have asked for anything more as all in our group were pleased. I wouldnt hesitate to rent again. .

Aug 2019This condo was perfect - well furnished - newer furnishings than most places we looked at. The kitchen was very well equipped. And the location couldn't have been better! Two restaurants right downstairs, and other good restaurants just a short drive from Rum Point. The snorkeling right out front was some of the best on the island. We loved it!

The owners were always extremely prompt to answer any questions we had. I can’t say enough great things about this condo we will definitely be back!

Jul 2019They say a picture is worth a thousand words and every picture/video shown is exactly what you can expect to find at this amazing condo. The views from every room are incredible – you will not get tired of looking at the water, the white sand and the beautiful sunsets. The beds are extremely comfortable and the living space is well laid out and roomy. The kitchen was equipped with all of the appliances and implements necessary to prepare and cook the meals we ate there. Dish soap and dishwasher pods were provided, and the owners even had hand soap in all of the bathrooms as well as lovely local-made bar soaps. The air conditioning worked perfectly on both floors, which isn’t usually the case in multi-level homes.
Once you decide to leave the comfortable condo, you can use the snorkels, fins, sand shoes, noodles and beach towels which are all provided for your use. Each day, a group of us walked about a quarter mile up the beach (to the right of the condos) and snorkeled with the current back to The Retreat’s private beach. There is seaweed near the shoreline, but just a short swim away is water where you can see a lot of sea life. My husband enjoyed this so much, he decided he didn’t need to arrange a diving trip. We also used the three kayaks that belong to The Retreat at no charge.
One of the bonuses of this condo is that while it feels extremely private, you are steps away from The Wreck Bar and their beach area. It feels like a resort and is an excursion spot for people who are coming in on cruises or are staying at the other parts of the island. They offer food, a Monday night beach barbeque that we felt was worth the price, drinks, jet ski and paddleboard rentals, hammocks, volleyball and a large beach area. The water is really nice and blue just to the left of the jet ski rentals and it’s a good area to stand and hang out in. We really loved having this next door. We would walk back and forth sans shoes all week. We also took a boat trip from their pier to Stingray City. This is MUST do!!
Other must dos are Starfish Point, the Blow Holes, Cemetery Beach, and Gelato & Co. (to name a few)!
After enjoying as much of the island as we could, we unanimously agreed that we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else on the island other than in Rum Point. It’s like an island on an island! We would 100% return to this condo, which has the best location in The Retreat.
A bonus is that the owners are extremely available and nice :)

Jan 2018The Retreat at Rum Point was a perfect location for our family. We were there celebrating our 45th anniversary and my 70th birthday with our kids, their spouses, and our grandkids. The little girls especially loved the beautiful beach and the "Princess bed" upstairs! The big kids also liked walking next door to the beach and the Wreck Bar. There was plenty to do and not enough time to do it!
The Retreat is well-managed and well cared for. We had everything we could possibly need. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay there!

Will be back! Be sure to go to Rackims restaurant in George Town. So fun for people of any age! Also riding horses on beach and in ocean with Mrs. Nicki at Grand Cayman Horses was amazing. Very warm, friendly, helpful lady who has a true passion for horses and also rescues abused horses. Will be back! Go to Kaibo just a mile from the house. Great waterfront dining!

Our family of four recently returned from a two week stay at this fantastic home. Located on what we consider the peaceful side of the island, the route to Rum Point is easily accomplished using the map from the rental car agency or instructions provided via email by the Retreat managers. This IS truly paradise! I believe this condo has the best sea view of any available at the Retreat with full glass sliding doors enclosing the entire north side of the condo on both the second and third floors and sea views from 2 sides. A screened in lanai and open air lanai offer an absolutely stunning outdoor view and the sound of gentle waves lapping the shore creates a soothing and inviting space for any time of day or night. All furnishings in this condo are high end and luxurious and certainly enhanced our vacation. The appliances, cookware and utensils are numerous, spotless and in excellent condition. The ice maker was efficient and we always found copious amounts of ice available. All linens including beach towels are of exceptional quality and a housekeeper was provided each Wednesday. We utilized the services of Cayman Shoppers so all groceries had been purchased and stored before our arrival.
Just off the beach of this condo is some of the best snorkeling on the island. This area has a large shallow area, less intimidating for those inexperienced or young, before gaining depth just a bit further out. Assorted stingrays, octopi, turtles, lionfish and multitudes of colorful fish were prevalent in our experience offering plenty of excitement for day or night time snorkeling. Various tours and equipment rentals from the Rum Point Pier are offered by Red Sail Sports next door. There is also a Rum Point Club restaurant for fine dining at dinner, the Wreck Bar & Grill for beach lunches and beverages, and a gift shop. Cruise ship guests do spend some time next door on occasion but are definitely not an intrusion over onto the Retreat area where the beach chairs are reserved. A car is definitely required and provides access to a multitude of restaurants and sites in the area. We drove into 'town' frequently and found the drive a pleasant way to experience more of the island. There are also bikes and kayaks for rent. The owners and managers were perfect to work with - always available and answering any questions in a timely fashion.
We have truly found our perfect piece of Paradise at this beautiful condo!

Apr 2013Our family stayed here for my parents 50th anniversary. We had adults, teenagers and young children and everyone had plenty to do and thoroughly ennjoyed their stay. This unit is spectacular! Plenty of room, lots of amenities and beautiful views. The gorgeous beach is just steps away and their are a few shade trees so you can duck out of the sun if you need to. Several of us are hard core snorklers and we traveled to manyl places on the island and also went out on one of the tours. However, the marine park just off the beach is as good as anything else we found, and it is right there. Next door is a restaurant, bar and snack shack and you can get just about anything there from fine dining to a burger, all good. We stayed a week and had no issues. The on-site staff and housekeepers were friendly and helpful and we wanted for nothing. I can't imagine why anyone would stay anywhere else, everything you need is right here! We will tell our friends and we will be back!

Jun 2019Our family of 6 travels to 1 really good and planned out vacation per year, and this year was Grand Caymans. We selected The Retreat because of its description and was not disappointed. VERY NICE place, beach a few feet away, good snorkeling, secluded, very people on beach which was nice, next door to restaurants and activities. Groceries and stores quite a distance away, so stop by on your way in to avoid travel. Its approx. an hr drive to Georgetown area with all the food places and activities. Overall, great experience and I highly recommend,

Mar 2015My family just returned from a week in Grand Cayman, and this rental was the perfect location for us. We are a family of seven (three couples and a 7 month old) and we had plenty of room. There is one room with two twin beds which is probably better suited for kids, but with each bedroom having its own bathroom the privacy was paramount. The AC kept us cool at night,and during the day we opened slid back the wall of sliding glass doors to allow the breeze to flow through the unit.
Breakfast on the upstairs patio was a great way to start the day. The views were breathtaking, and the convenience to rum point and and the local restaurants made accommodating all six of us easy.
Gigi, our contact, was very helpful and provided a pack-n-play and highchair, and was available to answer questions via email. The wifi was good and easy to connect to.
We had a little bit of difficulty finding The Retreat at Rum Point upon arrival, but that might be because we are so used to relying on GPS old fashioned directions were difficult, especially when driving on the left side of the road.
We would definitely stay here if we go back.

Jan 2019Look no further! The condo is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. You are provided with everything you will ever need. It is located at a peaceful part of the island, away from the crowds of Seven Mile Beach. It is an excellent spot for snorkeling and has amazing views of the sunset.

Apr 2013I'm not sure why there are not more reviews of this property, because it is a fantastic vacation home. Located at Rum Point, just next door to Red Sail, the Wreck Bar (IMP with the best mudslides on the island), and the Rum Point restaurant, Retreat #30, was a "home away from home" for our family. We were two families traveling together for a total of 8, and this condo, was completely spacious, and very CLEAN. Two of the kids slept on a blowup mattress, that even had a head board on it. Loved it. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a coffee table book of the island and a rum cake from the famous Tortuga, compliments of the Fowlers. Nice touch. All the bedrooms were large, including the master bedroom, which was located up the spiral staircase, and occupied the entire 2nd floor. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to prepare a meal. There are Weber grills on the property and there was plenty of charcoal left in the condo for use. In addition, there were plenty of beach towels, fins, masks, snorkels, floats, and even a blow-up boat, that the kids enjoyed for hours. The highlight of Retreat #30, is the view. We enjoyed all our meals on the screened in porch. Another bonus, there are plenty of lounge chairs so you do not have to wake up at the crack of dawn to claim your spot. Someday we hope to return to Retreat #30, to enjoy this fantastic property again. A few tips, rental car is a must, best grocery shopping Fosters in Savannah (40 minutes). Bring water shoes. Skip the BBQ dinner at Kaibo, maybe go for drinks/burger. We enjoyed a great meal at the pink restaurant next door, I think it is only open Thurs-Sunday. If you want a great deep sea fishing charter go with Jon at Slackem Charters, we caught a 200+ lbs blue marlin, and for diving Frontiers on the east end was awesome.

Mar 2020Everything we expected and more! Condo had all the necessities, everything was thought of! Beautiful location and beach. Most of our time was spent snorkeling on the beach right in front, or next door at the cute and fun Rum Point resort for snacks, drinks, rentals, gifts, and a beautiful beachfront dinner! We didn’t have to leave for anything except groceries in the beginning of our stay. It was perfect!!!❤️

Apr 2022All in all it was a fabulous week. It would have been helpful if the owner had relayed that Rum Point and all of its amenities was closed prior to our stay. We figured out how to work around it ourselves, but suggestions in advance would have been helpful. Traveling during Covid is hard enough without having to make alternate plans. Extra blankets would have been helpful. As well as additional toilet paper. The closest store was out and I had to resort to scavenging partial rolls from other places. All that being said, we still had a fabulous time and I'd definitely stay in the area again.
