Das Heritage View Studio-Apartment überblickt das historische Dorf Port Noarlunga und empfängt die Morgensonne mit einigen spektakulären Sonnenaufgängen. Der Blick vom Balkon genießt die fernen Hügel von McLaren Vale und das Dorf. Das McCloud House wurde umfassend renoviert, um es in das 21. Jahrhundert zu bringen. Heritage View verfügt über ein Kingsize-Bett, ein eigenes Bad mit Doppeldusche und eine Küchenzeile mit allen Annehmlichkeiten. Der Eingang zur Wohnung befindet sich im ersten Stock. Die Eingangshalle wird mit der Eingangstür des Eigentümers und einem weiteren Studio-Apartment mit dem Namen A Room with a View im MCCloud House, Beach View geteilt. Das McCloud House wurde 1929 von den McCloud-Schwestern als Gästehaus erbaut. Auf der anderen Straßenseite befindet sich ein schöner Sandstrand, ein Steg und ein Unterschlupf für diesen schönen Teil der Fleurieu-Halbinsel. Der ursprüngliche Speisesaal im Erdgeschoss ist heute ein Restaurant.

Port Noarlunga wurde zum Heritage Village erklärt und hat seinen Charakter beibehalten, obwohl die umliegenden Vororte gewachsen sind. Seit den 1920er Jahren ist es ein beliebtes Urlaubsziel. Der Strand, das Surfen, Angeln, der Bootsanleger und die malerische Gegend machen es auch heute noch zu einem beliebten Reiseziel, insbesondere bei den nahe gelegenen McLaren Vale-Weingütern. Die Onkaparinga Flussmündung, die durch die Sanddünen fließt, lädt zum Spazierengehen, Angeln, Schwimmen, Fotografieren und einfach zum Genießen des Lebens ein. Heute gibt es im Dorf viele Cafés, Restaurants und Boutiquen. Das alte Institutsgebäude wurde gerettet und ist heute ein geschäftiges Kunstzentrum. Gegenüber befindet sich der Surf Life Saving Club Port Noarlunga.
Das Fleurieu hat viele interessante Gebiete zu bieten. Eine 15-minütige Fahrt bringt Sie nach McLaren Vale, wo das Besucherzentrum alle Fragen zu Weingütern, Cafés und Restaurants in der Umgebung beantwortet. Weiter südlich liegt Victor Harbor mit seiner Granitinsel in der Nähe. Unternehmen Sie eine Fahrt mit einer Pferdekutsche von Shire nach Granit Island oder eine Zugfahrt nach Goolwa oder besuchen Sie das Walbeobachtungszentrum. Eine Autostunde nach Cape Jervis, wo das Boot nach Kangaroo Island fährt.

Jan 2015We stayed in the Heritage room at McCloud House It was beautifully furnished for a very comfortable stay. Excellent location on the beach. Julie and Bob were most thoughtful hosts. Everything we needed for a restful time. Highly recommended.

Feb 2015We had a great stay. There is a lovely balcony overlooking the town with a bbq and chairs and table. The room itself is nicely furnished and small touches like the plants inside, the anzac biccies on the table, made it feel like home.

Sep 2014The property was absolutely stunning! We came to Adelaide for our honeymoon and the property couldn't be more suited. It was very easy to find, located next to the jetty and had a stunning view. It was only a 10 min drive to the shops, and around 20-25 min drive to McLaren Vale. The room was very cosy yet very modern. The king size bed was very comfortable, and there were also bedlights too! I really liked the bathroom, where there were twin showers. The kitchen was very handy too, it was a kitchenette but there was enough room to cook a meal for two. Thank you Julie and Bob for your hospitality, in providing us maps, bread, milk, complimentary cookies and wine. Would definitely recommend my friends to stay here, and would love to come back!

She invited us to check in early, welcomed us with a bottle of local wine and home made Anzac biscuits, as well as a personalised card to acknowledge our wedding anniversary. Her attention to detail in the apartment was very much appreciated. The heritage apartment was spacious, comfortable and had the added bonus of a large outside deck.

Feb 2013Exceeded all expectations! beuatifully refurbished seaside guest house true to the 1930's era. All comforts considered and within a stones throw from spectacular beach, jetty and cafe. Peaceful, private, although central location to all of adelaides attractions. Recommend a stay to anyone for any purpose. We enjoyed our time and intend to return. Thanks Julie and Bob for sharing such a wonderful House, restoring and preserving it for the future.
