Jan 2020Wow! What a perfect spot. We enjoyed every moment. It was so well appointed and clean. You can’t beat the beach. We went with our daughter and it was heaven.

Jan 2018While The Crabtree Apartment was about what we expected, the island conditions were not. The pictures on VRBO and other websites are NOT accurate. There was MUCH more devastation than we were lead to believe. Huge pieces of concrete, lumber, and wires littered the beach of the apartment making it totally unsafe. The Salina across the street, just outside the front door, was over flowing with foul smelling water and debris. We were constantly swatting mosquitos inside the apartment. There was no television or internet service. The air conditioning units need servicing as the air they put out was moldy and mildewd, which my daughter is allergic to so we had to turn them off. There was a very short supply of hot water to take a shower.
It was nice that we had start up food in the refrigerator for us. The kitchen is adequately supplied and the bed linens were very nice quality. However, we do not feel we were given a truthful account of the island conditions. The photos on VRBO and various other web sites of the property surrounding the apartment is very misleading.

May 2021When the airline cancelled our trip to the Netherlands Antilles, we had to find a place we could get to in order to breathe compressed air. We had dived the TCI previously so decided to go back. The dive shop owner suggested Crabtree apartments and we’re glad she did. They are located 1.1 km from the dive shops and eateries so an easy stroll, even with gear. The apartment was spotless when we arrived (yes… even men notice such things) and everything worked. Bedrooms have A/C but the trade winds keep the living area quite comfortable. We leave today but would stay here again any time!

Dec 2020We wanted to have a relaxing time on the beach, and that place was just perfect for that. Beautiful beach with no people, clear blue waters, quite neighbourhood. The sunset views from the back porch are awesome, and wild donkeys came to the backyard every other day. We explored the island with a golf cart and walked to the nearby restaurants and supermarkets. The life here is simple, meaning that there are less options in supermarkets and restaurants, and due to pandemic a lot of places were closed. Regardless, we had everything we needed to enjoy our time there and didn’t want to leave.

May 2017We truly enjoyed our stay at Crabtree. The ocean is a few steps away from the well furnished patio offering beautiful sunsets every night and swimming during the day. The apartment itself is comfortable and well appointed. The owners even provide a few amenities for your first day (bread, eggs, bottled water, etc.) so that you don't have to shop after a day of travel. In terms of proximity, it is within walking distance to Cockburn Town and a few restaurants which makes it convenient. There is a washer and dryer on the premises and nice beach towels as well - which is also convenient. For getting around the island, they provide bikes with baskets for sightseeing or running to the grocery/liquor store. Overall it was a great place to stay for a relaxing week! They are easy to work with and are very attentive. Thank you Crabtree!

Jul 2018We have stayed in this home quite a few times and it never disappoints. This year, June 2018, there was a new comfortable king size bed and new beautiful surfaces in the kitchen and bath. Abundant fresh linens, and a cook-ready kitchen. I'm so glad to see it so well maintained even after two hurricanes in 2017. The beach is unmatched. I love to snorkel in the "backyard."

Jan 2020We had an absolutely fabulous week at Crabtree. We rented all 3 apartments for a family of 12 on a trip to celebrate the grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary. The apartments were perfect for us, giving some privacy to each family unit, but space to gather with the two adjoining apartments. The location was incredible, right on the beach, with a nice sandy area under trees to relax. I will never forget waking up and walking right out onto the sand in the morning. We essentially had a private beach to ourselves. Only a few people occasionally strolled by. The cruise ships never bothered us, most people stay down at the cruise port and it was fun to watch the ships come in and out each day. The island is very authentic and very different than Provo (we also stayed 5 days there). We loved the quietness and charm (do not expect a ton to do on the island). We love the Gibbs Cay excursion, one of the most unique experiences we've ever had (swimming with stingrays). The dogs were a huge hit with all of our kids (6 kids ages 8-20). They were sweet and followed us everywhere, even found us the one day we went to Margaritaville. Overall, one of the best vacations we've had and perfect for our family of 12. Jessalyn was wonderful with advice for excursions, catering for our anniversary party, and other advice. Thank you Jessalyn for a fabulous vacation we will remember for a lifetime!

Jun 2017We first stayed at The Crabtree in 2010 and it just remains almost unbelievably comfortable and lovely. We appreciate all the upgrades over the years. This year there was new comfortable cushioned teak furniture on the roomy veranda. An airy high-ceiling space with nicely proportioned and soothingly decorated rooms and a well-appointed kitchen. This is the second year that we have bought fresh fish on the beach and prepared it "at home." This is the 4th time we have enjoyed the company of Smiley and the third time with Paws and Chase. If you are at all inclined, pick up some dog food when you visit a grocery store and offer food and fresh water to these wonderful companions. Chase in particular greeted me when I opened up the apartment every morning. It was hard to say goodby to him but I learned from our dive company that these dogs are well known and they receive health care.
This time we ate at a couple of restaurants new to us: The Secret Garden and Barbie's, both were great. They have always been there but the Sand Bar was so visible and accessible we always stopped there. Two great dinners at Bohio, they are always there when you can't find something closer. We never managed to connect with Annette's Pizza although we stopped several times. Hope it hasn't gone with the Turk's Head Inne, which we miss.

The location is superb; the beach is perfectly sandy with lots of areas to explore by snorkeling directly from the beach. We saw a variety of beautiful fish right along our section of beach. The apartment is private and has all the basics one would need. It was breezy when the door/windows/fans were on throughout the day. We did use the A/C in the bedroom at night. The king-size bed is very comfortable. We loved having access to the washer/dryer on site. We ate in and also ate out at the many fine restaurants nearby. The apartment is close to many restaurants--within walking distance, but we rented a golf cart and explored the island, going to a different beach every day. You must try the Arches on the Ridge Cafe--the food is amazing and they make the best Carrot Cake in the world and handcrafted ice cream also! There were no mosquitos during our stay!

Aug 2019This was our second stay at Crabtree Apartments. This time we brought another family with us, and we rented the adjoining units. We all loved it. The location is perfect, the beach is amazing and is what keeps us coming back. You will literally be the only one on your own private stretch of beach. You can float, hunt for shells or seaglass, snorkel or simply plant yourself in a beach chair to take a nap as you listen to the water lap the shoreline. If sun is not really your thing, you can sit on the cushioned furniture on the deck and simply stare at the beauty before you. I have never seen such beautiful colors as the water that surrounds Grand Turk. The apartment has everything you could ever need and is spotless. The thoughtfulness of the owners is apparent in all of the attention to detail. The wifi and cable television are an added bonus, but the simplicity of the island and a chance to get away from it all is really why we go. Jessalyn is so easy to work with and the dogs, Chase and Paws, who have adopted those who stay at Crabtree are the icing on the cake. New rental options have popped up on Grand Turk in the 5 years that have passed since our first stay, but I wouldn't stay anywhere other than at Crabtree Apartments. Thanks for making it so easy!

Jul 2018This was our first trip to Turks and Caicos as well the first time visiting the Caribbean without staying at an all inclusive resort. Having spent 10 days on Grand Turk, we felt as though we truly experienced the island. Crabtree Apartments were the perfect place to stay. I’ll echo previous reviews to say Jessalyn was wonderful to rent from beginning with the day I booked to when we arrived. She responded to emails very quickly and had a great binder of info waiting for us in the apartment. It was neat and tidy when we arrived and well stocked for one breakfast and, with some groceries, nicely supplied to cook 3 meals a day. Again, as mentioned by other reviewers, the views are as good as or better than the photos online. Just breath taking! We basically had our own private beach for the week with a large, sandy swimming area and shallow reefs for snorkeling. Often, we didn’t see even one person as we peered up and down the beach. We loved the privacy! I’m not a dog person by any means, but I have to admit Paws and Chase, the apartment dogs, won me over. Incredibly, they are the best behaved dogs I have ever encountered. They were respectful of our personal space, only barked when other dogs were around or the donkeys came to drink their water, tried just once to get into the apartment during a thunderstorm, and were our constant companions/“protectors” for our entire stay. My 16 and 17 year old sons absolutely loved their time with the dogs. The bikes provided were a great addition to the rental. We rented 2 more bikes from the Grand Turk Dive Shop to be sure there were always 4 available for us to use. We rode all around which really gave us a sense of the Island. Quick tip-check your bike tires before you go riding and fill them with the provided pump if needed. We used the washer and dryer as well which was so convenient. As I said, we ate in a lot. There are several groceries stores and we visited every one. Understandably, selection is quite limited and I would suggest bringing as much food/supplies as you can. We enjoyed eating at The Salt Raker Inn and Turks Head Inn where Lori was very knowledgeable and accommodating with a gluten free dinner for me. The lighthouse and museum were nice attractions to visit. The cruise terminal not so much as it was pretty much like being at a US water park with alcohol. All in all, we loved our trip to Grand Turk and highly recommend Crabtree Apartments. We would definitely stay here again!

Feb 2022This was my third trip to Grand Turk. On my second visit I took a walk on the beach, saw the Crabtree Apartments and said, "I'm coming back to the island and staying at the Crabtree!" Because of the pandemic, my visit was delayed by two long years but I finally made it! I travelled with two friends and the Crabtree was a perfect spot for us. One of the group is a scuba diver so it was just a short stroll down the beach each morning to get to the dive boat. A few times I walked with him and we enjoyed breakfast at the Osprey Beach Hotel while looking out at the beautiful water. My non-diving friend and I spent the majority of our time hanging out at the Crabtree. The purpose of this trip was to RELAX and the Crabtree was the perfect place. Plenty of outdoor seating, a big beautiful beach that felt like our own private paradise - there was no reason to go anyplace else! The apartment was clean and comfortable. When we arrived after a long day of travel we found eggs, bread, butter, milk and orange juice in the refrigerator. We made a trip to a nearby grocery store for a few other items so we could have a few meals at the apartment and we walked into town for our other meals. We enjoyed dinner at the Secret Garden Restuarant at the Salt Raker Inn and lunch at the Sand Bar. As dog lovers, we enjoyed daily visits from the dogs that have adopted the Crabtree Apartments but at times they did get a bit rambunctious and sometimes howled and barked at night. We especially fell in love with a dog named Eva - she absolutely stole our hearts! I will definitely be returning to the Crabtree. Grand Turk and the Crabtree Apartments feel like a home away from home to me!

The ocean views were unbelievable! The ever-changing turquoise waters were beautiful. The ocean/beach front view from the rental allowed for lots of time enjoying the sounds and sights of the ocean surrounding Grand Turk. Lastly, the communication with the owner is the best that I have ever experienced with VRBO. Her responses were very timely, usually we received an answer within minutes. She even set up a taxi pick up from the airport. Mr. Jack was awesome too! I highly recommend this rental!

So, beware as it will be extremely difficult (if not, impossible) to return to your ‘normal’ life after staying at the Crabtree on Grand Turk.
The pictures and video do not do the units justice. The living room, kitchen, porch, and bedrooms are the perfect size along with the provided amenities - especially the awesome cruiser bicycles. Other than food and bottled water, you really need to bring nothing else.
And the beach is absolute perfection. The soft white sand, the warm, crystal clear water, and coral reefs (yup - plural) are right outside your backdoor.
Additionally, the Turks and Caicos natives (“Belongers” or “Turkasians”) are genuinely warm and friendly that you feel are an extension of their family. Everyone we met wanted to ensure we had an enjoyably time in their country and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
For those looking for the perfect vacation filled with incredibly warm culture, delicious food, beautiful beach-front property, and a heavenly beach, you’ve found it! We now intend to make this an annual trip.

The soft white sand, the warm, crystal clear water, and coral reefs (yup - plural) are right outside your backdoor. Additionally, the Turks and Caicos natives (“Belongers” or “Turkasians”) are genuinely warm and friendly that you feel are an extension of their family. Everyone we met wanted to ensure we had an enjoyably time in their country and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. For those looking for the perfect vacation filled with incredibly warm culture, delicious food, beautiful beach-front property, and a heavenly beach, you’ve found it! We now intend to make this an annual trip. Enjoy!!! (though you’ve been warned)

Mar 2019This is the 2nd time my wife and I have stayed here at the Crabtree Apartments. The first time in 2012 and we couldn't believe it took us this long for us to return because we had such a great time then.
As usual it did not disappoint from the very beginning the taxi was waiting for us as set up by Jessalyn. When we got to the Crabtree as we walked in the everything was perfectly set up and clean just as we remembered with some food in the frig. And what a beautiful beach view out the back door Wow!!
Jessalyn will send an email with all the island info there is also an info book in the apartment everything you will need to enjoy your stay on Grand Turk.
Diving is always great here on Grand Turk we used Bluewater Divers and while diving with our divemaster Kingdry the 2nd day we had an amazing experience swimming with a beautiful Sunfish at the Coral Garden dive site which is straight out from the Crabtree.
We had my wife's 2 sisters and one brother in law on this trip hopefully more will come next year and it will be a yearly vacation for us. We all had a great relaxing vacation can't wait to return.

May 2019This had everything we needed for a relaxing get-away-from-it-all trip yet all the comforts of home. Jessalyn was great with the booking and communication and even arranging for Jack to pick us up from the airport. We are in love with this place and already discussing our return escape!

Jul 2017The Condo was just wonderful. It had everything it says it does (so private). There were many grocery stores to get supplies/wine and the people are so friendly and helpful. We had so much fun just laying in the sun and watching the sunset with a glass of wine every night. My best advise is to get a rental car or golf cart, taxis are hard to come by and never come when you want them. The best plan to eat is the Bohio it has excellent food, fun staff and back patio to the Ocean/Sea, also it was opened later (other dinner places closed at 9:00p.m.). Go to the cruise area for shopping/food and see the museum in town. We will definitely be back to stay at Crabtree apartment!!! Worth every penny!!! Loved it!!!

Dogs and donkeys roam freely through streets and neighborhood. The golf cart rental was stolen on the last night of visit. If the only expectation is the comfort of the cottage and the beach, you won't be disappointed. The deep blue line out from the beach is where the ocean drops over 7000 straight down. This is an awesome place for snorkeling and Scooba diving if that is your interest.

Jun 2018The apartment was great. Comfortable and well maintained. The beach was so quiet and felt like our own private beach much of the time. Close to town (Cockburn) by foot and of course even more so via the bicycles that were available. The property manager was very responsive the few times we had questions. One of which was whether or not to feed the dogs that lived outside and were so friendly to us. But gave warnings to others - unnecessarily, but it was nice they felt protective of their "masters" for the week. and yes, ok to feed the dogs so we supplied dog food while there.
The people were so friendly everywhere. Robert the taxi driver of Sunshine taxi at 649-246-2111 wonderful. Latoya at Ocean Scapes Spa at 649-232-6201 provided two of the best massages I've ever had.
Omar provided golf carts at a discount to the price charged to folks coming off the cruise ships. Which were completely absent from our beach. Osprey hotel restaurant served a great breakfast.
I hope to return in the next few years perhaps with more people to share the Crabtree apartments since there are three units. If you like somewhat quiet, somewhat remote, beautiful beaches that feel practically your own much of the time, this is the place to visit. We did not dive, but apparently Grand Turk (a half hour flight from the main island of Providenciales) has some of the best diving in the world.

Sep 2022Such a wonderful vacation thank you so much! We went to crabtree apartments to celebrate our 19th anniversary and it was so relaxing :) Our first kidless vacation in years. Literally right on the sand with beautiful water views. We rode bikes for the first day but it was a little too hot to explore the island this way. We rented a golf cart for the rest of the week which was perfect. If you like shelling, the northside of the island has tons of them! Especially loved the 4 potcakes (island pups) keeping us company during our stay. So incredibly lovable! We ate out for lunch everyday and grilled at the apartment at night to watch the sunset. The hardware store right by the house has big bags of charcoal which lasted the week. Grocery store location is very convenient as well. We always travel with a carry on cooler and bring frozen meat with us. House came well stocked with spices and cooking supplies! We flew both Cairo express and Intercarribean to get to Grand Turk. Definitely go with Cairo express if you have the option. In our experience it was much more reliable. Highly recommend the Crabtree apartments if you are looking to just kick back and relax! Thanks again!

Jul 2017Read all the previous glowing reviews with a bit of healthy skepticism but it was blown away by our vacation. The location was perfect, the dogs were wonderful Paws (sweet old man) and Chace completely stole our hearts,. The donkeys coming out back for some scratching and food were so fun. The donkeys will eat dog food in bowls supplied and food can be bought in the local grocery stores. The beach was perfect. Just out your back door are snorkeling areas AND soft sandy bottom areas for just playing in the crystal blue waters. The rental was clean and thoughtfully well stocked with coffee, eggs, butter and OJ for that first morning breakfast. Nothing lacking and guest comfort oblivious important in furniture, beds, kitchen suppplies and veranda is awesome. Magical is the best way to describe our week at Crabtree, Grand Turk. BTW this review was written by an avowed beach hater-Alaska loving lady. Never care to set foot on a US beach again but sooo looking forward to our return visit to Crabtree and all of Grand Turk. Have to rethink my position on beach vacations IF Crabtree and GT is on the table.😁�

Feb 2018Poor Grand Turk.....yes the devastation caused by the Hurricanes is still quite obvious all over the island. However, Crabtree Apartment Unit 3 was our beautiful little gem for the week! Arelys the manager was there when we needed her. Jess the owner answered emails promptly. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The beautiful beach was our backyard. Don’t expect fancy when you’re looking for places to eat you won’t find many. There are a couple of small food stores with limited supplies. We wanted rest, Sun, beach and just being away from it all - we got all we wanted and then some. Thank you Jess!!

May 2019Our first visit to the island. Was sad to see the devastation caused by the back to back hurricanes last year. Slowly trying to rebuild. Loved the quaintness of Crabtree and the dogs & donkeys ❤️ Restaurant food was a bit expensive but soooooo good. Beaches & water was so beautiful that we often just sat on the veranda and watched the ocean. Snorkeling was great right in front of apartment. Found bunch of conch shells. Arelys and Fernando,the managers, responded to every need in very timely manner. Would highly recommend Grand Turk island and Crabtree apts to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation on a beautiful beach. Will be going again soon❤️❤️
