Feb 2022We’ve been to Isla 6 times now and Sotavento is still my favorite spot on the island.The view from the pool on a sunny afternoon can’t be beat.Delia and everyone else involved are as professional and helpful as they come.We hope to return soon.

Oct 2022We stayed in Delia’s condo for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s in a great area, easy to get to everything. You face the west looking outwards Cancun and the view and sunsets are amazing from the balcony. We had everything we needed there. She also supplied us a pack n play and sand toys for our daughter. The house was clean and felt safe. The shared infinity pool was also a plus! The only thing to be aware of us you have to take 4 flights of stairs, which for me and my husband was okay, but my (60 year old) mom struggled a bit. She arranged our transportation the day of travel and it was seamless. Overall, We would definitely recommend this place and will stay here again in the future!

Oct 2019We stayed 11 days at this property. The view and the sunsets were amazing. Delia was very helpful in resolving all the issues and answering our questions. The washer was broken and she kindly agreed to do our laundry. The beach is good for snorkeling and swimming but be ready to pay $100 pesos per person. They closed at 5pm wgich was a bummer for us and I would not recommend it for families with small children since there are dangerous slippery rocks. However, there are plenty of beach clubs on the island so get ready to travel north and south. The cabs are cheap and the drivers are friendly. Call Andrea if you need a ride. To the north side islt is only $10 on average when a golf cart is $60 per day. The island is very quite and slow. The food was amazing in all the restaurants we went. I would recomend it for people with older kids or no kids at all.

The location was great, as it was very busy on the other end of the island, and this location provided a beautiful peaceful setting away from the craziness of downtown. The location next to Castilla de Garafon was the best! Daily snorkeling just a few steps away on a nice quite beach. This end of the island now has several restaurants, stores, etc. Some new high end restaurants, boutiques, ,etc have just opened here as well.Delia did grocery shopping for us, so that we had food in the Condo when we arrived, that was a huge bonus!Thank you for a wonderful week!

Apr 2022We love Isla and have stayed at Playa Norte in the past. I was wanting something a little more tranquil and relaxing. This stay was absolutely amazing. Yes, it's a golf cart ride from just about everything, but the drive is beautiful and so easy. The Join is right across the street and there are conveniences nearby. It is definitely quieter and the views from the unit are unbelievable. The beds are so comfortable, the kitchen was a wonderful size, the showers are luxurious ... all of the amenities were superb. One day during the stay we caught a storm on the island It was so neat to watch it from the unit. We all curled up on the couch and bed and watched a movie until the storm passed. I can't say enough about how nice this place is to stay. Communication with Delia was 100%. She was SO quite to answer any questions we had. We'll be happy to stay here again! May 2018We loved our stay here. The moment we arrived (a little late due to holdups at the airport) Delia was there to greet us and welcome us to our home for the week. The penthouse was beautiful and so clean. Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable was there. It was nice to have bottled water upon arrival and not have to worry about going out to get some right away. The location couldn't have been better. A quick golf care ride to groceries and the center of town - with so many special places to eat, drink, and sightsee on the way. I was sick the last couple of days of our vacation and almost didn't mind not being able to leave the house because the view from the home is so lovely! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Dec 2018We have stayed at Sotovento few times in the past and we are never disappointed. We arrived early evening and Andrea, was there to greet us. She was very kind and informative.
Sotovento is in a great location -across the street is snorkeling at Castillo Garrifon- very affordable and several great places to eat nearby.
A Golf cart was arranged for our stay, upon our request.
The room was beautiful- very spacious, clean and spectacular views of both sunrise and sunset.
Excellent value ,great location- Will be back again for sure

Apr 2021We had a wonderful time at this property! We loved it! Very spacious condo! The only issue was there were no batteries in the remote and the air conditioning in the upstairs bedroom kept turning off. But we would definitely stay here again! The pool was amazing as well!

Delia was always available with any question and her recommendations were spot on. Sep 2018This was our second year staying at Sotavento and our first in this unit.
The property itself is beautiful and in our opinion has the best view on Isla Mujeres.
Being on the quiet south end is nice to return to after the hustle and bustle of the Playa Norte area.
Everyone we dealt with were exceptionally professional and courteous.
From Blanca and Ola the owners to Andy who checked is in and is an Isla native who lives in the neighborhood to Delia the property manager.
I had a billing problem that I created unintentionally on my own.Delia exceeded any possible expectations of customer service to help us figure it out and see it to resolution.I can't compliment her enough.
We already booked for next year and can't wait to return to Isla.

Delia the property manager is always great to deal with and we can't wait to return.

Apr 2019This was not our first stay in Isla Mujeres, but it was our most enjoyable. The penthouse property is beautiful and contained everything we needed for our stay in paradise. Delia was great and responded to all our questions. When we had to cancel last Fall due to a medical emergency, she was very accommodating in switching our dates. The pool was great, and the sunsets will stick in hearts forever. We did not want to leave.

Apr 2018This property is tucked away from the hustle and has absolutely gorgeous views from every level. We enjoyed mornings on the rooftop deck, afternoon on the chaise lounge off the master bedroom and meals from the main floor dining area. Pool is great, steps to the beach and well-maintained. Delia and Andrea were always helpful! Expect lots of steps though ;)

Aug 2020This property is immaculate. There was so much space here, the property is on 3 separate levels with a deck on each one. The views were spectacular. There are a number of beach clubs near by. The building was very quiet. There is parking under the building. The communication with owner was excellent.

Its nice having your own kitchen so you do not have to eat out every meal. Everything was better than described. 2 minute walk to the water. Check-in was super easy. Mr Cesar was amazing. Spent the week celebrating my 40th birthday. Showed up to decorations and champagne !! (Thank you very much Delia) Cannot say enough about the property. Will be staying here again when we come back !!!

Its nice having your own kitchen so you do not have to eat out every meal. Everything was better than described. 2 minute walk to the water. Check-in was super easy. Mr Cesar was amazing. Spent the week celebrating my 40th birthday. Showed up to decorations and champagne !! (Thank you very much Delia) Cannot say enough about the property. Will be staying here again when we come back !!!

Mar 2019This is exactly as described, but the view is exceptional. I prefer the south end of the island and this is a perfect location. It is near the joint and Garaffon snorkel park. The penthouse is perfect, it is clean, spacious and drinking water was provided for us. The view is quite amazing and we loved looking at it everyday. We would stay here again.

There are two beds, so our boys slept together, but if you needed more space I believe the couches pulled out.Pros:- Close to a good snorkeling beach. The beach club was right behind the condo. It cost 150 peso (or $9 USD) per person and you got a wrist band so you could come and go. It was nice because we could come back to the condo to eat and then go back snorkeling.- A short taxi ride away from Chedraui where you can get groceries- Had a washer which was nice so we didn't have to bring as many clothes. Note, there is no dryer, so you have to air dry, which takes about a day.- Only a 5 minute walk from Punta Sur. We loved walking there to watch the sea turtles in the evening.- Having a pool onsite was nice. Our boys used it a lot and it was well maintained.- Having 3 balconies overlooking the Caribbean was beautiful. The top balcony was large and even had a grill.Cons:- Only 3 restaurants within walking distance and they were all pretty pricey. We mostly made meals at the condo.- Far away from most everything else. Plan on paying for a taxi to get anywhere. To get to the north side (where most things are) it cost anywhere from 100 - 150 pesos. Your other option is to rent a golf cart, but those are usually more expensive than just taking a taxi.Overall we had a very good experience. Delia and Caesar were easy to work with and Delia really helped us out when we needed a taxi early in the morning. We would recommend this if you don't care about being close to the sandy beaches and the tourist areas. If you love snorkeling, then this is a great location.

Aug 2018Property is very well maintained. Andrea was FABULOUS. From helping us know where to go, to getting us nice taxis. She's just the best. Made sure we had everything we needed. We LOVED walking across the street to the snorkeling beach. 90 pesos per person got you beach access, chairs and access to the bar/food. Get there at 10am to guarantee chairs on the beach. (they come down to beach and take your order!) We also did the massage on the beach for $30. WORTH IT. Whale Shark trip was the experience of a lifetime. We used the company that Delia recommended and they were top notch. The Joint across the street was great for small meals and drinks. Margaritas are VERY strong. Stick to one....from experience. I suggest bringing a lot of pesos! I thought I'd be able to use my visa more, but most places are cash only. Make sure to plan a shopping trip on Hildago Street down at the North End. We didn't rent a golf cart, we used taxis. It's 100 pesos ($5.55) to North End, so about $11 round trip. VS $60 a day to rent golf cart.
Walk down to the South end early in the AM for sunrises. It's about a 7 minute walk to the end. I loved the peace and tranquility that the South end offers. We spent hours snorkeling (brought our own snorkels and fins) at the 90 peso beach. Every fish you can imagine, including Octopus, cuttlefish, Barracuda, ect! If you see the enormous sand dollar in the unit, I found it snorkeling across the way. :) Followed by hours in the pool.
The only negative I would say....and it has nothing to do with the rental, it's just the island in general, the wifi is VERY slow. Constantly kicks you off. I'm self employed, so needed to get online some. But, as T-Mobile customer, I turned on my international calling before leaving (no charge with T-mobile) and I had 4G access on the island.
