Jul 2018We really enjoyed our stay in this quaint, cozy apartment in Fairhaven. We were close to downtown Fairhaven and very much enjoyed trying as many coffee shops and restaurants as we could before continuing our travels. So many wonderful places in just a few blocks, it's amazing. Colophon Cafe, Skylark's Cafe, The Filling Station and Whiskeys Burger Bistro, just to name a few. Staying in a HomeAway apartment is a wonderful way to visit a place you are interested in getting to know. We would stay here again.

Aug 2018Unit #1 was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. I was worried I wouldn't be able to sleep as it was hot when we arrived and no A/C but I was thrilled to find 2 box fans in the bedroom closet. PTL! The bed was comfy. Great place to stay while visiting our daughter in Fairhaven.

The living room was large enough to allow for four to enjoy a meal at the table. The couch was comfortable and seating for three.The instructions for check-in/check-out were very clear and included all the details for WiFi, ,laundry and offered a number to contact the host in the event of a problem. The VRBO host was very accommodating to allow for a late check-out when our flight was delayed. We are planning a return visit for much longer stay next year. Recommend this property for an affordable, cozy place to stay in Bellingham.

Mar 2017This unit has some dated appliances and fixtures, but for the most part everything was functional. Great value for the money. Would consider staying again, but not my first choice. I only had two issues: the bathroom fan has a very LOUD squeak and I couldn't figure out how to stop it and I found a chew spitter behind the couch (hiding away, easily missed by housekeeping). Otherwise everything was clean and ready to go for us.

Sep 2018This is the third summer that I have spent in this cozy property near Fairhaven in Bellingham, Washington. Along with other visits, it has become my home away from home in this beautiful area of the Pacific Northwest. There is ample space for comfortable living, a free shared laundry, and it is beautifully decorated with everything I need to relax and enjoy peaceful sanctuary. In the summers you just open the windows for cool air to waft in and in the winter the heating units keep it toasty warm. It is in close proximity to amazing hiking trails, parks, coastal boardwalks, outdoor entertainment, quaint shops, restaurants, and Joe's organic garden/market full of fresh produce and flowers. In the summer I have picked fresh blackberries on neighborhood trails. Keep your eyes open to catch the flight of the Stellar blue jay, watch a little black squirrel scurry across the parking lot, or even see deer walking by your front door. Sunsets, the sunsets from Boulevard Park just a short drive away are just one of the best parts of the trip. Stop at Woods Coffee on your walk and enjoy the sunset while interspersed minstrels play lulling music into the evening. There is a little bit of heaven in the Fairhaven area and I can't wait to return again and again!

Mar 2018This apartment was larger than expected. Very clean (carpets looked new) and has a full kitchen and bathroom. Neighboring tenants were quite and there was little to no road noise from the nearby road. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to unwind and see what Bellingham has to offer!

Jul 2018This apartment is close to the Fairhaven District and Western Washington College. There is also a shopping center within a mile. It's in a residential area and the surroundings are quiet with hardly any traffic. We used the kitchen for breakfast and found it to be adequate other than the fact that the knives were so dull as to be useless. Bring sharpening tools or your own. Overall an excellent place to spend your time. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was clean.

Jan 2017There is a little known jewel of a cozy safe haven in Fairhaven adjacent to Bellingham Washington. This beautifully appointed studio apartment has been my home away from home now for two trips to Washington....this summer and recently for a winter break trip. Simple abundance describes these quarters...simple but so comfortable and cheerful in decorations, linens, and accessories. The seven individual studio units are nestled in historic Fairhaven area where you are within walking distance and short driving distance to beautiful parks, interurban trails, shoreline parks and boardwalks, a neighborhood organic farm and market (Joe's Garden), exquisite dining, entertainment in the parks like live music with spontaneous dance lessons....salsa anyone?, my favorite local grocery Haagen's Foods complete with organic deli, and I can't forget to mention just blocks away from the Amtrak station and Bellingham Boat Terminal...where the Alaskan Ferry and San Juan Whale Watch tours depart. Did I say parks? Amazing parks within the Bellingham City limits that not only feature well maintained walking trails, natural beautiful waterfalls at Whatcom Falls, lakeside paths at Lake Padden, and the gorgeous boardwalk at Boulevard Park where nightly summer viewing of glorious sunsets sitting outside Woods Coffee complete a full exciting day. Fairhaven Park is beautiful and includes a community built labyrinth that visitors may enjoy. Beautiful Chuckanut Drive is very close to enjoy one of the oldest and most picturesque drives in the Pacific Northwest. At the end of the day, my safe haven is so comfortable and I must say cozy warm even on my winter trip. The grounds around the apartments are lovely, colorful, and whimsical sitting areas for early morning coffees or picnics. A handy laundry center is available for all the residents to use as needed. It is peaceful and quiet in the neighborhood except for the occasional stellar blue jay, ravens, or neighborhood deer families you may spot nearby. I have made friends on every trip with visitors coming and going and the permanent residents in the area. We all become somewhat like visitors at a bed and breakfast sharing our favorite local spots for hiking and dining. If you are searching for a unique experience outside of hotel living, this may be your spot. The landlords are attentive to your wants and needs and maintain the property in pristine condition. So come on, maybe I will meet you there!

Nov 2016A cozy place to come home to on rainy days. Big windows let in light and framed beautiful fall trees. (Daylight and views are important to me)
We really relaxed. Comfortable recliner chairs were nice for reading and TV watching. (Amy responded immediately when we had trouble with TV reception.) We enjoyed Fairhaven. Great food at Village Books. Saw people catching big salmon at the falls on Whatcom Creek.
We would have appreciated a larger bed --queen instead of double. .
