My family and I have visited Tybee Island at least once/year for the past 20 years. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the island and have always been very pleased with any of the accommodations...hotels, condos, campground. And, we have stayed at Beachside Colony 2 other times before this trip - renting from another property manager. However, this time we decided to go with the onsite property managers and were VERY DISAPPOINTED. Check-in is 4:00 pm - our place was NOT ready until 5:30 pm. We received many excuses...there are only 2 housekeepers, we have a lot of check-outs, another couple stayed in 111 last night because they had trouble at the place they were staying. Not only did we receive excuses, there was only "I'm sorry" followed by the excuse. At no time did Jennifer (manager on duty) try to make things right. Actually, she left the office and said nothing. I am so glad this was not my first experience on Tybee because I would NEVER return after receiving such bad service. Even after we were FINALLY settled, no one checked in to make sure everything was okay. Unfortunately, it wasn't...the housekeeping staff forgot to leave paper products, dishwasher soap. I'm sure they were rushed...wonder how many other places didn't get cleaned in the 6 hours between check-out and check-in? Not that this is a big deal, IGA is just down the street, but it was part of the deal. This negative experience could have been avoided if MANAGEMENT would have accepted responsibility for the oversights and not blamed others.

The room was very spacious and had all we needed. I was disappointed with the air conditioning. Even though there are 3 pools they are all about the size of a large bathtub so they were very crowded and warm.

The condo was nice and roomy but the wash machine was very tiny and when I booked I did not know you were supposed to bring trash bags and take all your trash out prior to checking out. With the price you pay per night you would think housekeeping was included.<br/>

It is always a pleasure staying on this property. we have been here four times in eight years and the units are always exceptionally clean, staff always very polite, lots to do on the property, easy access to the beach . The units are supplied with everything you could possibly need. Love the restaurant Located on the propertycalled The Deck- food is delicious and very reasonably priced, environment fun and nice.

The condo was great. Fairly large for a condo, beds were comfortable and it was very clean. We were disappointed at how small the pools were and they were often times over crowded. My young children love to jump in and splash and it was really too small for that. We LOVED when he teenagers started jumping in not two feet from us and splashed us over and over again. Yes that was great. Other than the pools the stay was wonderful. The staff were very nice to us and accommodating. Location was great as well.

I didn’t like the fact that I have to pay 150$ for cleaning service yet I have to strip the beds and clean up. The glasses were all dirty dishes weren’t clean either. The TV was broadcasting in both English and Spanish which was the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen. Was very annoying. Multiple signs posted around the condo on how I will pay more if I do this or that was a bit over the top. People were very friendly and the deck had great food and drinks but an obnoxious woman at the bar was so loud she should have been cut off for sure. All in all it was a good stay. The washer and dryer worked good so that was a pleasant surprise.

Extended weekend spent at Beach Colony 111. Four adults and two young children enjoyed the pools, the less crowded beach, and close proximity to Crab Shack, our favorite restaurant when we come Tybee. Also enjoyed AJs on the marsh side. Unit needed attention to broken headboards but would still consider returning.

Pros: Great location to the beach (1 minute walk through the pool area), okay food and drinks available at the on-premises restaurant.<br/><br/>Cons: Location of this condo is very close to a large dumpster used by the restaurant which smells exactly like a dumpster should smell - terrible. Keycards for the room quit working every day or so (same thing happened last year for us, too) even when keeping them separate from wallets and cellphones. (Getting locked out at 1 am isn't all that fun.) Office staff is okay, but does not seem overly excited to be there, however, maintenance staff working around the premises are very polite and helpful. <br/><br/>Overall: A good place to stay on Tybee for a resort-like feel. Provides easy access to a pool area, restaurant, and bar, plus easy access to the beach. Certainly not a luxury resort, but much better than other options available.

When we arrived at unit 111, the TV in the living room did not work, the door on the bottom of the stove was broken, the light over the sink in the master bathroom was out, there was only a half of roll of toilet paper fro both bathrooms, no tissues , soap, or paper towels. When I went to use the dryer I removed a small ziplock bag full of lint and the laundry area was dirty. There were 2 paintings on the floor that should have been hung on the walls, the light on the lamp in the living room did not work. the elevator not nice art

Jan 2020Property was nicely located. The space served our needs, but we have stayed at better appointed places which include a few staples and a better equipped kitchen. There were some light bulbs out and the blinds weren't all operational (or may have been operator error).
