Mar 2020This is our second visit to this property. It is in a great location right on the beach with a nice ocean view. This particular unit is getting a little run down - the couch was quite dirty and stained, the sliding door was fairly rough, and we had trouble with the TV. But overall it was a nice stay.

Mar 2022The pictures don’t do the rental justice. We found the place even more inviting and the view from the upper deck is priceless. The beach was not crowded during our stay. The AC worked well. The bed and couch were comfortable. Relaxing environment. We were able to easily visit St Armand Circle one day and Anna Maria the next. Traffic toward Anna Maria is definitely something to be aware of before venturing out, especially if you have a timeline. We highly recommend Silver Sands in Longboat!!

After 4 years of staying here, I cannot not believe it was my LAST! Let’s start with the with the pros:<br/>1. The view is amazing.<br/>2. The pool and grounds the best.<br/>3. The beach with chairs and umbrellas is a big plus.<br/>4. Grills are a plus.<br/>Now the cons which are also changes in the last 4 years.<br/>1. The regular office person was argumentative, refused to wear a mask, when their doors says required. The part time person was great! <br/>2. Our unit #253, furniture was not dirty, IT WAS FILTHY! The stocked kitchen was a joke; old, scratched, dirty, small 6” fry pan. No casserole dishes, only 4 plates and 4 bowls (old and heavy ), mismatched cheap silverware. We never cooked much in our past visits, but with Covid this was the first time we really paid attention. When I requested a few kitchen supplies, I was told that is all they offer and they don’t have any extra stock. In the end they did bring me a better 6”frypan. I went to the store to get what I needed.<br/>3. During our 2020 visit we talked to the manager about the furniture needing cleaned or replaced along with a new shower head. Neither where done a year later. <br/>4. The final straw came when we were told our rate would increase by $3300.00 for the same period. I understand an increase, but that is extreme. I was also told, they change their rates like airlines; check everyday, you may get a better rate. Now, why wouldn’t you give your best rate to your loyal customers right from the beginning. We have made several friends over the years at Silver Sands, 1 couple moved to another complex after 2020, because of crazy changes. The other 3 couples (including us) have made our 2022 reservations down the street.<br/>I am still not sure if these issues are with the management company RVA, the management of Silver Sands or the owner of our unit #253. Whoever, it is needs to step up and make the changes needed to bring this place

The shower door was in need of repair. The sliding door to the baloney was in need of repair. Not able to lock it or slide it on the right hand side .This was our second time here at this resort. The umbrellas for the beach was broken. Overall the resort is in need of alot of renovations and updates.

The porcelain was rusted. The shower door was in need of repair. The sliding door to the baloney was in need of repair. Not able to lock it or slide it on the right hand side .This was our second time here at this resort. The umbrellas for the beach was broken. Overall the resort is in need of alot of renovations and updates.

Jun 2020Overall stay was ok. But unfortunately my newborn got bite up by some type of bugs or bed bugs not sure which. Was not sand fleas because she wasn’t outside near the beach. Also we found a huge cockroach that we killed for you. You are welcome. Back to my newborn. I took picture of the bites to Show her doctor, one bite looks infected. Be expecting a call from me if it is so you can pay for the medication. Also AC broke while we were there luckily after hour fix it within two hrs of calling. Not very happy with the outcome of being there as too I will have to follow up with baby’s doctor to make sure she doesn’t have a infection from the bite.
