Sep 2022We were looking for a place close to Mouth of Wilson for a wedding. Being able to walk out of the Biker Loft straight into the Creeper Trail was so cool. We even found some very old train tresses and nails! We enjoyed exploring the area. Though internet was weak, it was a great way for my husband and I to recharge and reconnect. Excellent stay. The amount of deer we saw each morning and evening was AWESOME!!!

Jul 2016We stayed here while hiking in Grayson Highlands State Park and biking the creeper trail. The bikers loft was immaculately clean and fit the needs of my family of four well. The overall property is beautiful and peaceful and the Creeper Trail actually crosses the driveway, so we stopped for a bathroom and snack break during our ride. Although the owner said the wifi is a little spotty, we discovered they must have added wifi access to the bikers loft as we had good access to the internet (for the area) the whole stay. Would definitely stay there again.

Oct 2016Well-maintained, clean, small digs - perfect for two people. We were there to ride the VA. Creeper rail trail and explore the area - this space is perfect for that type of getaway. The view is spectacular - and the color this weekend was incredible. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking (except a colander). Bed is very firm. Wifi is very spotty in the apartment. The best location we found for wifi was by the window in the living room. We enjoyed the remoteness of the location; away from town.
One suggestion: Make sure you get a welcome email before you leave to drive to the apartment - otherwise you will not have the information you need to get inside. The owners might consider posting their contact info. on the door for use if people (like us) arrive without knowing how to access the apartment. There is a phone number on a small sign as you're entering the property, but it's so small it might not be noticed. We drove down the road to Green Cove Station to use a landline and call the property manager, who was very helpful and gave us the code to get inside.

Nov 2021We had a wonderful time staying at the Bike Loft while visiting the Creeper Trail. Molly was very helpful. The facility was clean and literally right off the trail which was great for a short rainy morning ride to Green Cove Station. The view of the stars were amazing and the loft had everything we needed for a little get away. The only thing I would recommend to others would be to pre make your meals in advance just to save some time if you are going to be on the trail or do some hiking. We were pretty tired at the end of the day and the drive to food one way is 30-40 min which can be a long drive on the mountain road if you are used to city driving. Overall we had a great time and we were sad to leave.

Aug 2016We enjoyed our stay at the loft. Had everything we needed. Waking up to see deer feeding at the apple trees was a pleasure. One morning we heard turkey then spotted one walking across the lawn. Bikers path along the creeper trail is close by as well as a scenic drive over the mountains. Due to the hot weather, we had to use the AC which was pretty loud since it is a wall unit installed over the bed area. Our last night was cool enough to raise windows and enjoy the breeze coming through. It would be a wonderful place to visit in he fall. It is a beautiful and well kept property.

Jun 2017Very cozy and convenient to Damascus and Grayson Highlands and Virginia Creeper. The only things that would keep it from receiving a 5 for many are 1) the lack of a cellular signal or WiFi access in the loft (you have to walk across the driveway to the main house to get the latter), and 2) a potential reduction in privacy if anyone is renting the main house. We didn't need WiFi except for our morning weather check and no one was renting the house, so those weren't issues for us.

My dogs and I enjoyed walking the creeper in both directions from the loft, but rain precluded a bike ride. Twelve miles from Grayson highlands for gorgeous hiking. And the hobbitt house in back? Magical!

Sep 2022This was our second stay at the "Bikers Loft". We were able to take our dog which was perfect. Enjoyed some porch sitting, watching the deer and turkey, walking the creeper trail and the trip into Damascus were all so enjoyable. Loft is comfortable, had everything we needed. Could not ask for a more gracious host. Cant wait til our next stay. ---The Combs

Oct 2018This was our first time doing the creeper trail. This location was an amazing place to stay, I thought that I would have been able to use the storage under the house for my Bike, however it was not available. The house is fantastic, it really feels like a tiny home away from home. One thing that I would say it that it needs better A/C circulation or a fan to put into the window for the living room area.

Jun 2017These cozy quarters were just what we needed for a weekend away for biking the Virginia Creeper Trail. The driveway drops right off to the trail. The loft had all the conveniences needed for a pleasant stay. Hot shower. Firm bed. Spacious kitchen/living area. Hope to be able to return in the future.

Nov 2016The place is cozy and clean with a well equipped kitchen. Logistics of getting in and out was super simple. We could not have been happier. It is literally ON the trail so it was very easy to set out for our hike. Definitely want to come back as we barely scratched the surface of what the area has to offer for outdoor recreation.

Oct 2017The one bedroom quarters is cozy. Full kitchen was well stocked by previous renters. The property is GORGEOUS, remote & quiet.
We packed an air mattress with linens and used that on the LR floor for our 2 daughters.
Everything we did away from the place was at least a 25 minute jaunt, but it was worth it.
The owner was friendly & responsive. Perfect mountain get-away!

Jun 2019The check-in process was great everything was clean and the location was fantastic. We actually didn’t spend that much time at the property because we were biking and fishing the entire time.
But when there, it was Awesome!

Mar 2020The cabin was not prepared when we arrived at the check-in time. It was clear that they had not cleaned the cabin from the previous renters. Not to mention there were bugs all over the walls and beds. We tried to call the property manager, but she did not answer. Thankfully, we were able to get a hold of the maid service. After 3.5 hours of waiting outside for the place to be cleaned, we were able to go into the cabin. It seemed a lot smaller than the pictures describe. The oven was dirty, so that anytime it was used the place smelled terrible. Globs of dust clung to the ceiling fans. The ladybugs were all over: walls, ceiling fans, cooking utensils, etc. Not that it's a big deal, but the DVD player only played in black and white, and the batteries in the remotes were either gone or not working. That being said, the Applacian Trail was beautiful.

Apr 2019Quaint apartment right on the Virginia Creeper trail. One bedroom apartment with all the amenities. Apartment is very clean and owner responds quickly to questions. The only downsides is the stairs as it is above a garage if you have health issues and no cell service and internet isn’t the best. Would stay again

Apr 2017My husband and I enjoyed staying here on the Virginia Creeper Trail to celebrate his birthday. We had everything we needed and enjoyed hiking the property and having really close access to the trail. We were also delighted to find a new trout fishing pond business across the street. We were honored to be the first 2 customers for opening day. We cooked the fresh trout easily at this house. We hope to come back and bring our family!

Molly was quick to respond to any questions that I had and suggested a weather app that was very helpful with our planning. Loved the location. Close proximity to Grayson Highlands Park, Whitetop Mountain, nearby Appalachian Trail, and then to have Virginia Creeper cross the driveway. We enjoyed the convenience of walking the trail when we were too tired to hike further but still wanted a nice walk. Nov 2016Great location for hiking and biking. Cozy and clean space with plenty of space for a couple. Just make sure you plan ahead with food and snacks. We visited the Grayson Highlands Park to see the ponies and some great hiking. A very enjoyable time. The Creeper Trail crosses in front of the property which is great to see. We went on a walk on the trail but plan to go back for bike riding. There is no cell service and wireless does not work very well. We would definitely recommend and hope to visit again. Thank you for letting us enjoy your place!

Nov 2019Cozy quarters just right for two. In between the rainy weather we got in a nice ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail and a hike at nearby Grayson Highlands State Park. We found a wonderful chicken wing place at the edge of town in Damascus when we got off the trail, then caught a shuttle back up the mountain. When it rained we read books or watched TV in the house. Since the rental is pet friendly we were able to bring our dog Sam and he had a great time too. This was our first time on the Creeper Trail and it was a wonderful ride. Also we saw deer visiting the old apple tree in the yard every day at some point. Check out the well preserved railroad station just a half mile or so up the road (or trail) at Green Cove Station. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Nov 2022Close to all activities in the area - Grayson Highlands and Mount Rogers Rec Area. The loft was clean & quiet. I sat on the porch swing at night and watched the deer in the field below. In the morning I star gazed at the dark skies. Highly recommended.

Nov 2022Climb a mountain right from your property for great views! Loved strolling the surrounding property and enjoyed easy access to the Virginia Creeper Trail. You'll find a coffee shop right down the street which is on the trail, or you can drive your car if you stay right onto a gravel road to reach it. If in car, continue down the gravel road for amazing scenery. Great Pizza on the mountain in NC just a half hour away.

Jan 2017Beautiful, cozy spot with everything you need. Lovely full kitchen, roomy bath with tub and shower. It was clean and well maintained. The phone was dead which was a bummer because no cell service or wifi. I would still give it a "A" rating!
