This was our fifth stay in Grindelwald. Every time we have stayed at a different place. We enjoy staying a bit out of town. The view of the mountains are less hindered and and it's much quieter. The apartment met our needs and expectations. . The apartment was very modern and had everything we needed. Parking in Grindelwald can be tricky and tight. It was nice to have a separate garage for parking. The main part of town is just minutes away by car. There are two good restaurants further up the hill and well within walking range. If you enjoy being away from the crowds, you will love this place and everything it has to offer.

Franz was extremely helpful and responsive, the property is as listed, quite classy and extremely clean, yet appropriate for our two children (baby and toddler). Well equipped kitchen, beautiful bath I was comfortable with our babies bathing in, good solid beds of the European firm variety (it really does sleep 4 comfortably), lovely sunlight. Not sound-insulted, however, having a work crew at 7am one day was an early start to our day! Highly recommended.

We stayed this apartment last year and loved it, we came back this year and loved staying at this place again. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom has a good space and very clean. The living space is very spacious and neat.And the best part is the view! Spectacular! Sometimes we felt like we didn't need to go anywhere but stay in the apartment and enjoy the view of the Eiger, Wetterhorn and the alp. Great apartment with even greater views! Comfortable stay with two adults and a teenager. We made good use of the Jungfrau Travel Passes we bought. Bus stop is a few meters right, down the hill, from the apartment. We cooked our own meals in the apartment, which has a good selection of pots and frying pans, etc. Pantry was well filled with wide range of herbs, some spices and cooking oil. Very good wifi and a selection of adapters (for EU plugs into Swiss sockets). Best bit though is spending a few hours each evening on the balcony watching the landscape! Awesome. Certainly recommend the apartment for a couple or small family.

From the moment we arrived we felt instantly welcomed. The property is extremely clean, organized and very spacious due to the overall design and layout. The beds are firm but comfortable. The view was one of the best in all of Grindelwald and you are awakened each morning to the view of the Eiger directly in front of you. The apartment has all the amenities one could need including a well stocked kitchen with utensils, dishes and glassware. We shopped at the local CoOp grocery store in Grindelwald and saved a considerable amount of money by making our own meals and picnic lunches for day excursions. We had a car which for us was a bonus since we could come and go whenever we pleased. There is a bus stop just minutes from the chalet (it stops running in the early evening) and the walk into town is straight downhill and takes about 30 minutes. (Coming back is a chore so if you're tired the bus is a good option) The wifi was very strong and we had no issues. There is laundry in the basement (no dryer) but plenty of racks and clothes lines. The laundry costs around 2 dollars U.S per load and there is a meter for the money in the wall (it takes Swiss coins). We did not plan our trips in advance since the weather can change day to day so we took it a day at a time and had no problems booking cable cars or gondola rides at the last minute. The train station is in the centre of town but you'd need to take the bus or taxi if you have luggage. Grindelwald is expensive (like most of Switzerland) so again having the kitchen was a great bonus for meals. The deck is amazing in the evening with a glass of wine or a coffee and the view can't be beat. Everything worked very well and there is satellite TV with a number of English news channels. This is a well maintained apartment and not for partying, the owners have taken great care to present a very safe, clean accommodation so if you are looking for a party place, please book elsewhere. We were 2 adults and one teenager and there was plenty of room due to the unique sliding wall between rooms for privacy. There is room for 4 overall Franz was very nice to deal with and worked with us to make sure our payments went thru (we had some problems with PayPal and wired out payments from Canada) There is no shortage of activities in the area and you don't have to travel far to have a good time. We have stayed all over Europe and this was by far the best property we have ever used. Steve from Canada

We loved this apartment it has fantastic views of the Eiger, Wetterhorn and other mountains. The apartment has everything you need and has a lovely balcony to sit on to enjoy the views. So peaceful and relaxing. It is One and a half miles from the train station uphill so a bit of a walk with suitcases. You get a free pass for the buses on arrival to use within Grindelwald but the last bus is at 18:44, you can get the 121 or the 128 to the school near the apartment. You can also use the sport centre swimming pool free with the pass. We got a taxi on arrival as we arrived late at 11pm this cost us 24 Swiss francs which is expensive for a mile and a half journey to us. I would highly recommend this apartment as it is easy to get to all the mountains on the trains And buses and has fantastic views and facilities. The only thing missing for us was a welcome pack of milk, bread and juice maybe as we arrived late and no shops open then. Lots to see and do in the Jungfrau region and so so beautiful -Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

We enjoyed staying in this beautiful apartment. It has everything we needed and the owner is very attractive. The property is little away from village center but there are free bus services and the bus stop near by. We'll come back again!

We started coming to this flat back in 2010, and fell in love with it. The view is unbelievable, the town is charming and quaint, the apartment itself is totally updated with a stylish chic flair, and the owners, Franz and Diane are the most gracious of hosts, ensuring that the flat is live in ready with all of the amenities and information that you will need to enjoy your stay in gorgeous Switzerland. Thank you so much for this hidden gem, and may everyone looking for a little slice of perfection have the opportunity to stay at this flat in Grindelwald at least once in their lifetime! We stayed in this flat for seven nights and really enjoyed it. The views from the flat are outstanding. Opening the curtains every morning to that view was wonderful – it doesn’t get any better! The flat itself is large and very bright and pleasant. The bed is big and comfortable, the tub and shower are wonderful, and the decorating job is first class. The kitchen is well equipped with a large refrigerator and dishwasher. We enjoyed coming back to this flat every evening and sipping a coffee on the balcony with it’s gobsmackingly beautiful views! Since we didn’t have a car we found one aspect of the location of this flat lacking. The bus into town (about a 3 minute walk from the flat) takes about 10 minutes, but stops running from the town centre at 18:45. Also, the timetable posted at the bus stop near the flat seems to make no sense – even a local we talked to was annoyed by this. But if you’re driving, no problem. There’s even a garage for your car. We loved staying in this apartment. It is beautifully appointed with a well-equipped kitchen and everything you need for a pleasant stay. What isn't mentioned in the description is the incredible view of the Eiger and surrounding mountains from the balcony. Diane is responsive and ensured a successful stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Sehr schöner Urlaub in angenehmen Ambiente

We stayed at this beautiful apartment for a week. Views of the Eiger, Schreckhorn, and Wetterhorn are phenomenal. But let's talk about the apartment! Beautiful furnishings, including a humorous touch with cow covered chairs! Everything we needed for cooking a few simple meals, the down duvets in the bedroom were dreamy and perfect for sleeping. The balcony is large and accommodating. The bus stop is close by, and there is a garage for your car! We had no difficulties obtaining keys or accessing the apartment. One of the neighbors even helped us navigate the washer (no dryer) which was tricky for us Americans! The apartment has a clever design for two bedrooms but we only used the one bedroom option. Homie touches with photographs in the bedroom. We used a small stereo for our ipod, we didn't use the TV. Be sure to obtain the guest card as it allows free access to the bus, and discounts for the gondola. We did use the internet, although access speeds were not all that fast, but do you really need Internet while on vacation? We didn't. I would highly recommend this well cared for and clean apartment, high class at an affordable price!

A unique apartment with everything we needed for a comfortable and memorable stay in Grindelwald. The interior is beautifully decorated with lots of charm and style, and also a sense of humour which made us feel right at home. The property is 2km from the centre of Grindelwald, but we made good use of the free bus (get a guest card) which stopped at all the gondola stations as well as the town centre. The view from the balcony is amazing and we all enjoyed watching the sun turn the Eiger pink! Make sure you take the telephone number as there was no-one there to welcome us, but arrangements had been made ....we just had to ring Diane, who was very helpful. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 small children and found this apartment suited us perfectly. (Might be a bit pushed on wardrobe space with older kids). Aside the spectacular walking in the area, the kids really enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor swimming pools - both discounted if you get a guest card! If we get a chance to return, we would definitely look up this apartment as our first choice - thank you Diane and Franz!

We had a wonderful holiday here in Grindelwald. Chalet was clean and comfortable. Views from terrace fantastic. Shower and TV great. Great place to stay with a Swiss transport pass as bus/train/cable cars get you around quickly and efficiently. We did some marvellous mountain walking. What could have made things even better....lt was not made clear that there would be no-one there to welcome us and where to find the key. Instructions for using the chalet were only provided in German. No instructions on how to obtain the local free bus pass. No clean towels or linen if you stay for a second week. lnspite of this we would reccommend the chalet as a great place to stay and these points could be easily sorted.
