This place is older than we expected and in need of some TLC. The dock is in disrepair and probably not super safe to hang out on. There's a sunken boat in the boat house and a jetski ready to fall into the lake bolted to the dock. We loved the place though. We watched the heron, a hawk, crazy birds and loved the outdoor space. The neighborhood is wooded and was quiet most of the time. There was one night where a neighbor had a REALLY loud party till almost 2 am and the place next door has a pump or something running 24/7 and it kept us awake with some really loud, strange noises. We thought it was a critter the first night. These are absolutely not the owner's fault though. I would recommend this place to friends.

Great Area. Property is old which is fine but i wanted to get a pressure washer fired up whole time i was there. No reason not to clean the grounds up. Would look so much better. Lake is awesome, property within 20 minutes from anything you would need. You can drive boat to Big Mikes Steak House or Widtzell's.

Nice little house on the lake! Pet friendly, which is always a must for us! Quiet and secluded and quaint! It is an older house and is nothing fancy…but neither are we!😉

We enjoyed our stay. The property is quite old as listed. Everything was clean though. Spent the entire day fishing and reading. If you want a good spot to relax with a fantastic view and don’t need the modern home, this is a good one to book.

We had a great time and the Cabin was perfect for us. Right on the lake in a calm cove with a dock to tie the boat up. Sattelite TV and TV's in both bedrooms with good WIFI. Great view of the lake from the Living Room/Dining Room.

I’ll lead with Joyce is very response and friendly. This is a tough review and I’m being 100% honest. The location is great, right between Scotsboro and Guntersville and the lake view is gorgeous. It’s quiet and secluded and I saw wildlife which was cool. The property isn’t in the greatest shape and the current pics of outside do not match what’s there now as it looks like it used to be better kept up, there is a lot of junk around and it just needs work. I sent pics to the owner about the things that are safety concerns and she responded right away. Broken glass from a broken window front storm door falling off, loose bricks covered by leaves, piles of junk along side the garage, no swing or hammock but the broken poles still there, jet ski in rough shape that hasn’t moved in awhile etc The house is as described as rustic, it was tidy, I did see some bugs but it’s in the sticks so I somewhat get it. With some work and clean up this place could be pretty nice. If you’re there to fish and hangout outside it’s probably perfect. If not you may want to check elsewhere. I do appreciate her communication and hope they make the changes they said they would. Safe travels!

I and my youngest son live in St Louis Missouri. My oldest son and grandson live in Boaz Alabama. I rented this house for all of us to spend a few days together at Christmas. It was a great location. The kids played for hours outside. It would be an even better place to stay in the summer time. It was right on the lake. I did have a problem with the shower, but other than that it was perfect. I would definitely come back.

Terrible experience staying on Lake Guntersville. The property is old and not kept. The shower head was broke off and when we contacted property owner they said they had just heard from cleaning lady. We didn’t get to the property until 8:30 pm, check in was at 4, so the cleaner had plenty of time to notify the owner and shower be fixed or they could have let us know. Instead when we contacted the owner with the problem the reply was “well at least you can take a bath” needless to say they weren’t concerned with us as long as they got their money. Then the morning of check out, the plumber shows up banging on the door at 7 am. He was told no one was at the property. Seems the owner would have tried to do something to compensate, but I don’t recommend this property to anyone. The shower was the worst problem, but the mattress’s are from 1960 it seems and totally worn out. Terrible place on Lake Guntersville!!!

Nice property situated in a great location. The bathroom sink has been fixed and is solidly mounted to the wall. Very cozy and well suited our needs.

Beautiful property. Wonderful fishing. Rustic house "as is" beds very comfortable. Shower needs work. House needs some TLC but very comfortable would rent again once the shower was fixed. Be sure to take a first aid kit and Kedurig coffees.

Everything was clean & it's a great place to stay. The only things that need to be addressed are the bathroom needs a face-lift. Sink was really wobbly, paint was coming off the walls & black junk all around top of the tub. I had printed information on my stay & it said the door key is hanging on the grille but there was not a key there. The lock had been changed out to electronic lock & cleaning lady had to help me in. All in all it was a nice place to stay, just a few things to fix to make it nicer.

The Truth, The real truth. I'm sure by now you have looked through the reviews and see conflicting information. As well as arguments between host and guests. The host calls their guest liars quite often. It's because of this, that I decided to review this property. The short version, the hosts are lying. Here is a list of things within their control, that they are not fixing, and calling anyone who states otherwise liars. There is mold, there is rat poop in the kitchen drawers, there are roaches, the later water is absolutely where you have access to swing is gross and unkempt, there is no access to the boathouse, there is still electrical cords dangling from tree to tree, the bathroom is horrible, paint peeling off everywhere, most, walls closing in on you. Due to large gaps in doorways, missing glass in door, mosquitoes made their way into the house. Things worth mentioning not in their control. The water was turned off 1 of the 7 days we were there, the host did let us know quickly why that was, and the city fixed it relatively quick. This property was riddled with mosquitoes, biiiig time, even with spray, you couldn't enjoy a night fire, or more than 20 mins outside. These homes are supposed to be enjoyable, a getaway where a family can enjoy themselves and make great memories, This Is Not That Place! Instead, we spent most of the time, running away and loathing coming back when we had to. I definitely would have ate all the money, and bought a hotel, another property or anything if we had the option. All other places that are puppy friendly were booked. We drove 13 hours 1 way to be here, Super disappointing. The thing that makes me the most mad though, is the hosts are repeatedly calling guests liars. Especially when this property has unhealthy elements to it, youd rather mask the truth, than make your property safe. This place lame! Don't believe me? To the host, as soon as you email me pictures that you updated everything on this list, I will continue to allow potential guests to see the current state of your property.
