Nov 2018We stayed at Villa Serena over Thanksgiving 2018, with our family of three teens. The place was wonderful: Plenty of room for our team to stretch out and not bug each other. There was a big dining room table for eating meals and playing cards at night. The kitchen was well equipped and kindly stocked with basics when we arrived (soda, eggs, bread, some lunch meat and cheese, milk, coffee). Love that! We watched some of the DVDs and Netflix at night. Good wifi and AC made it comfortable.
The location was ideal. We walked to the grocery store a few blocks away on Thanksgiving morning and then two blocks north to visit the beach over lunch. Came back and cooked a mini Thanksgiving meal during our stay. Other restaurants in the neighborhood were tasty (Tasca del Leon and Pa Pical). We had a rental car and used it to drive to the Art Museum about 7 minutes away and the next day into Old San Juan (15 min). Also, we had an early morning departure and it was great to be just 10 minutes from the airport. Highly recommend the location.
Other nice touches: having plenty of beach towels and a cooler we could borrow to take some things to the beach. It was easy to deal with the owners/managers and we were happy to drop our things at about 11:45 on the check in day, so that we could explore San Juan without all our suitcases in the car. You won't regret staying here!

Aug 2022We had an amazing time in Ocean Beach and Old San Juan was 10 minutes away. The house met our needs and was fully equipped for all our needs including a bbq. We were welcomed by a site manager when we called and she assisted us getting settled. The only detractor of the stay was the nightly power outages. One night was only twenty minutes, but another was over two hours. If we come back to Puerto Rico, I would definitely stay here again. The house kitty that visited made our stay feel like we were at home. (We have 4 cats) The coqui in the garden sang to us through out the night and it truly felt like a tropical vacation.

Aug 2016We had a great time! The property owners were very responsive and helpful throughout the process. First time using homeaway and it was great. Renting the home and a car provided great flexibility to explore. We also used Uber & taxi service for going out on the town at night. Whether night life of Le Plaza Mercado Santurce & Old San Juan, days at Ocean Park Beach, Airport travel, going out to Farjardo for snorkeling, and El Yunke Rainforest we were able to do a bunch while staying at Villa Serena. We also had a couple of enjoyable days just chilling around the house and going running at the track/park. Great set up and we'll be back. Thanks Annette, John, and team.

Apr 2017We had a great stay in Villa Serena. Communication with Annette has been great and we felt very welcome when we arrived - food and drinks were waiting for us. The Villa itself is very comfortable for a large family. I do have to agree with other reviewers about the neighborhood where the villa is located (we did not really feel like walking around the neighborhood after dark though at no time did we feel unsafe) and the situation with the keys but overall I would recommend Villa Serena to everybody.

Jun 2017Villa Sirena is a gem of a home, only a block & a half from the gorgeous Caribbean ocean. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit San Juan! It was fully stocked, and the beds and furniture and fans and air conditioning are very comfortable. The kitchen is charming and modern and has everything you need. The layout of the home has both indoor and outdoor dining and lounging areas which make it comfortable for all. I travelled with my elderly, disabled father, and the management was very responsive and helpful in terms of measuring doorways so I could determine whether my father's wheel chair could fit through the main bathroom doorway. The house was completely wheelchair accessible! The location, accommodations, and character of this home make it very special.

Dec 2016Very nice and roomy property in Ocean Park, and so close to the beach. The beds are comfortable, the walk-in shower is nice, and the deck is lovely. Good restaurants close by, such as Inca Chicken, Kasalta, Pirino, and Acapulco Taqueria. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the place was clean.

Very close to Loiza Street full of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and vintage stores where locals eat and entertain. Very safe and secure location, close to Ocean Park beach and Condado area. Close to airport. Uber works perfectly fine for transportation to and from any location around San Juan area. Definitely reccomended.

Sep 2017The property was quite spacious- no disappointments there. However, there are a few leaks in the roof, water pressure is poor, you can only use water from one source at a time---2 showers but can only use one at a time. Electricity went out a couple times. A/C in bedroom went out--not a fuse issue--might have been rain related but it was only the A/C in the bedroom. There is a cat on the premises that bit my nephew as well.

Dec 2022The place is as described - walking distance to the beach and central to many of the attractions in San Juan. The property manager was very responsive and always available. They left a lovely welcome package with everything from drinks, milk, bread, eggs, etc that you will need to get settled in and avoid running to the store as soon as you get there. We appreciated that a lot! Some of the beds need to be upgraded - sagged a bit in the middle and there were a few leaks (maybe due to the constant rains and hurricanes) but property manager addressed them quickly. I would recommend this property.

The premises needs some upgrading, one thing I can say is when we needed anything fixed maintenance took care of it right of way. Judith was very nice and professional please let her know that I think that she was great and has a good personality and and asset to your company. Overall it was convenient to everything and worth the price we paid.

Oct 2018The house has everything you could need. Our stay was perfect, plenty of room in a well appointed home. The kitchen is truly fully equipped. The A/C's were heaven sent! We were very impressed by the nice gesture of leaving food items for our first night/next day breakfast. From the coffee to the rum and fruits, ...so welcoming.
We hope to return. Thank you for sharing your home with us. I want one just like it!

Oct 2017Sadly the hurricane ruined our chance to go. Our thoughts and prayers are with Puerto Rico. John tried his best to stay in contact despite no Elenor WiFi on the island. We hope that Puerto Rico recovers quickly and tourism along with it. Puerto Rico se levanta.

Jan 2020Overall we had a nice experience. Ville was very nice . We had 6 people plenty of room. Just a problem with the water in the showers. The master shower you can’t even use it just drips. So a bit challenging 6 people to use one shower. The keys to get in and out of ville should be labeled. Takes 10 min just to get in and out of the house. Other than that we had a great time in San Juan .

Sep 2017Overall, the house was a perfect fit! The staff was on standby ready to accommodate at anytime of the day. We lot of time was spent in the sunroom listening to Coqui's! Located minutes from the beach. There is a lot of good restaurants located 1000 feet away. The beach is literally around the corner! Nothing is out of reach from here. 10 mins to the airport. This is my residents wheh I return. Highly reccomeded.

Oct 2018Our trip to Puerto Rico was awesome. The house was equipped with everything we needed. All of the other reviews are accurate and helpful. House was a short walk to the beach. There were plenty of beach towels and beach chairs too. The staff was very helpful and responsive. Check in and check out was easy. I would recommend this house and stay here again.

Feb 2018Our family rented this property and the attached Serena Baja for our last 3 nights on the island. We have traveled to PR 9 times now and always like to end our vacation near the airport so that we are not rushed as we depart. We were blessed to finally find a HOME to rent vs. an apartment in one of the high-rises or a couple of the "lesser" small places that are only a room with a couple beds and a bathroom. This home has everything you need for a relaxed vacation and to be able to cook and entertain if you wish! It is only 2 blocks from the beach (Ocean Park) or a 5 minute drive to Isla Verde Beach, which is larger and has access to restaurants and bars. I would recommend this property over and over!

Apr 2022Marco polo collection really impresses me! Everything was great! We had a super time in Puerto Rico! The house was close to the beach, the bakery kasalta is a few minute drive and to die for! It was close to old San Juan, bars/clubs, beaches, museum, casinos and fine dining! We never had to drive really far!

Nov 2017Here are my thoughts:
1. Communication was excellent. Annette was great with corresponding with me about all aspects.
2. Beds were comfortable. That is a big thing for me and this place met the requirement.
3. Basic food staples was an extremely nice touch and were appreciated. There was also enough dishes and food preparation stuff (pots/pans/knives, etc), which we use (one of the benefits of renting a VRBO!)
4. Good grocery store is in walking distance.
5. Internet, and therefore WiFi is still not working, but that is a result of the hurricane and nothing can be done about that. Electricity and water was not an issue.
6. The shower off the master bedroom needs some real TLC. You have to mess with it at length to find the right temperature between freezing and scalding. The handle needs some maintenance and/or replacement. The hot water also took 10 minutes of water running to make it to just that shower. A new shower curtain in here would be a worthwhile investment too.
7. Putting some of those rubber colored key rings around the keys or having keys made with those fun key blanks would go a LONG way to making it easier to navigate the half dozen keys or so you need to get in and out (front gate, front door, driveway gate, etc)
8. DVD player with a good selection of DVDs was nice and enjoyed.
9. AC worked well.

May 2022Great place for our group of four friends to visit. It was clean, no issues with water or appliances and it had everything we needed. Outdoor space was great to sit and chat. Only issue was figuring out how to walk/drive in and out of neighborhood. You can only access from the north, all other gates are locked.

Sep 2022Everything that he explained was right on point. The only downside is that they need to explain the access to the beach needs a key for the gate. But the rest of the stay was awesome and a really good experience. I would recommend to everyone.
