Aug 2017We unexpectedly had four adults in the cottage for most of the week and it worked out very nicely. The place is comfortable and had almost everything we needed. The area was quiet but near Ellsworth which was quite a large (for Maine) town. We enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent location between Bar Harbor and Schoodic Peninsula just along the coast. Really gave us an authentic Maine experience. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom supplies. It's lovely inside and out, convenient location in relation to Ellsworth for everything you need, but a more secluded location at the same time.

Aug 2019We loved staying at this home! The kitchen was well-appointed and everything was very clean. It is beautiful and spacious and the area is so peaceful. It took us about 30 minutes to get to Acadia from the home.

Aug 2020We had another wonderful vacation at this cottage. The house is beautiful and peaceful, so nice to come back to after traveling around Acadia & Bar Harbor. Clean and well stocked, we highly recommend staying here!

Aug 2018We had a great week staying at the Post & Bean Cottage. The property is very well maintained and has everything you need. The only thing missing from the kitchen is a mixer. The area is beautiful and the people are extremely nice. We highly recommend the following:
1. Pat's Pizza in Ellsworth
2. Log Cabin Restaurant near the Pirates Cove Miniature golf
3. Taking an Oli's Trolley Ride through the park
4. The nature cruise around the island - we saw Bald Eagles, Falcon and seals
5. Spend some time in Bar Harbor - wonderful shops and great restaurants
6. Fishing - really only done with a boat and no one around there rents boats - we found one guy who would but you had to do a 3 day minimum and it was $250 a day
Would definitely come back and stay again.

About 30 minutes to Bar Harbor, and easy access to the rest of MDI, the schoodic peninsula and Ellsworth. The house was a nice quiet place to come home to after the days’ adventures. It felt like staying at a friend’s house that had all the little things you might need, like scissors and tape in the drawer and all the cooking supplies needed. Jul 2017We had a great time in this spacious home which is equipped with everything you'll need. Especially loved that we were able to bring our dog and that he had lots of room to run around on the property. Location is off the beaten path but only 20 minutes to town to access groceries, gas, or anything else (Super Wal-Mart). About 40 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Sep 2019Very nice home, convenient to supplies/shopping in Ellsworth, activities and shopping in Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Just a couple of minutes to rocky waterfront at Marlboro Beach. Home was well equipped and beautifully decorated. Nice yard and deck. Very comfortable and felt like home. Good and quick communication with property owner.

Aug 2020This vacation was just what we needed to get away from the week and be away from grounds. The yard was fantastic and the kids and dog loved running around it! We were able to enjoy some of our favorite spots while also exploring new places. The drive to Acadia was no more 25 minutes and it was nice to be situated away from the crowds! Thank you so much for sharing your house with us! And thank you for allowing dogs! Tucker loved coming on this vacation with us!

Sep 2020This property was perfectly located to Mount Desert Island and Ellsworth. It was a relaxing retreat to wake up in every morning with the sun streaming in the windows and to return to at night after an great day of hiking in Acadia. I would definitely recommend staying here.

My family including our 2 dogs loved everything about this place to name a few the back yard with the deck and comfortable deck chairs, the beds, and the fire pit. The con is that you need to spend about 30-45 minutes in the car to get to the park or the town but the pro is that you are in the country and it is peaceful and relaxing. The house has everything you need and was clean and well maintained. We had a great week and would recommend to stay here.

Extremely quiet location between 2 beaches and a freshwater lake. Close to plenty of restaurants and shopping. Lot’s nature and a great view of the sky above. Every accommodation needed is available.

It was no disappointment when we were finally table to visit. The home is beautiful! Well stocked kitchen, everything you could possibly need. Comfy beds, cozy sofa, the patio/deck/yard layout just beg for your company. The drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor are easy enough, Ellsworth offers all the needs you could have, and is also an easy drive. We enjoyed every second and I genuinely did NOT want to leave. If I am able to return to Maine, like I hope, staying here again would definitely be a possibility!

Oct 2019The home is located in a country setting and close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The drive is approximately 20 to 25 minutes to the park with another 5-7 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor. This is a nice home and we enjoyed our week long stay. The one complaint from our family members who were traveling with us is the beds need updating as they were not comfortable. There were also some cosmetic things that need fixing such as water damage to the bottom of the back door, painting on the walls where spackle has been applied, a hole in the floor near the dryer, and water damage on the window sills from past rain storms. The home was fully stocked with everything you need to make meals. The location of the home, in the country was very peaceful and there were a den of porcupines in the back yard eating from the apple trees. They were fun to watch from the house and seeing them climb the apple trees and slide back down was very entertaining. Overall, we would recommend this home if you are visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
