Oct 2020We came up to take in all the fall colors and we found a gem in this cabin and location. The cabin is adorable and the perfect size for my family of 4. The view is breathtakingly beautiful!! We loved it so much we booked our summer trip during this stay. We could just tell that summers here will brings us great family memories. Thank you!!!

Oct 2022This property is a great place to stay. The cottage is small yet works well for a couple or small family. The view of Glenn Lake is wonderful and there's lots of bird activity to watch. We'll be back!

Sep 2019The week we spent at Brookhaven was just perfect! The management company was easy to deal with and very attentive. We found the cottage, while not new, to be clean and comfortable. Our only suggestion is if you plan to prepare your own meals, that you bring supplies/cookware that you need. There are plenty of dishes, glasses and utensils. The lake is gorgeous, the grounds and boating equipment (kayaks, canoes) are well kept, life jackets provided. We used the fire pit with other guests each evening which was very pleasant and enjoyable!! All in all, a great time!! Thank you!

Great weather didn't hurt. Spent lots of time in the water and on the pier. Did a couple of bonfires with smores. Local restaurants were great. Did the Sleeping Bear dunes a few times and visited Lake Michigan as well. The cabins are small but that was fine for us. Need some better chairs around the fire pit. The paddle boards and kayaks were fun as well. Thanks.

We really enjoyed our experience! Loved the dock, shallow area, firepit, kayaks/paddleboards and location. Only concerns was we wish the shower was a bit larger and I think painting the bedrooms would be great. The ceiling may need some repair as well. It was a cozy little place and we slept great. Our late September stay was delightful! The rustic, little cottage was just right for me and my husband. The weather was perfect, breezy, early autumn lake weather - so we spent most of our time gazing at our Glen Lake from our front yard and around a fire, 3 out of 4 evenings. We know the area quite well and meandered around to some of our favorite beaches and bookstores. Perfect few days to rest and recharge ourselves!

We loved that the cabin was steps from the lake. When we got there the lock box was detached and the key visible and door was already unlocked. The overall cabin was nice, however I was a little surprised that it wasn't painted. It seemed like drywall was put up, primer put on and done. Could use some paint. The step to the house was wobbly. Again, just something simple and cheap to affix so it's not a hazard. We used a boat in the morning to have coffee on the lake, totally loved it. We would definitely stay at this place again.

Absolutely loved my fall girls’ weekend with my 2 daughters on Glen Lake. The cottage has an incredible view and treed property. Location is so close to Glen Arbor restaurants and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Great town! Incredible long dock to stargaze on. Outdoor chairs, kayaks, and fire pit. The cottage is tiny and extremely outdated, but it was quaint, clean, and did the job. We basically just slept in there. Beds were comfortable, living area and table nice to have in the evening after a long day of exploring all the beauty of the area. It was the perfect size for 3 people. Didn’t use the kitchen, but it was stocked with utensils, pans, etc. Nice deck with grill, chairs, and a picnic table to enjoy the view. This is like the typical “up north” cottage of my childhood growing up in Michigan. Nothing fancy and everything is old. It’s a step up from camping (glamping) unlike the upscale resort quality interior of many other VRBO’s/AirBnB’s properties I have rented in other states. It’s the view and location that’s worth the $. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend in October and we had a good time. The heat works good, there were plenty of blankets, and the roof keeps the water out. We didn't use the kitchen much, but if you need certain utensils, bring them with you. The bathroom would be tight if we were big people, and it has a bit of an odor, but its functional and clean. The Kayaks were a nice plus. The communication from VUN was superb.

We only regret that it took us too long to discover the area -- an absolute jewel, the pinnacle of Midwestern wonderfulness, with lakes, forests, farmers markets, hiking, biking and history. Brookhaven cottages are in a perfect location on Glen Lake. The cottages are simple and comfortable. Visit Up North was consistently professional and responsive to all requests. We have already booked our return to Leelanau next summer.

We rented 3 cabins and were wonderful. Absolutely perfect for our family.. Very clean and quaint. Had everything we needed. The only negative that will keep us from returning is that there was nowhere to put out boat and you are not allowed to tie to the pier. Other places we stayed in the past had a moaring for your boat placed in the lake outside of each cabin. We had to moar our boat across the lake and paid $70 a night. Just a big inconvenience every evening and not sure why they could not offer this. If in the future this changes please let us know.

Close to everything - Glen Arbor, Leland, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire, etc. Our first time in the area and our first experience with lake itch. I rented number 2 and so all my comments are in regards to cabin number 2. The oven doesn't work. The window in kitchen didn't open. the fire pit needed to be cleaned (we did this, second year in a row :(), we had to bring in our own wood- they don't provide- unless you want to chop and pick from the wood that has fallen in the woods from a storm several years ago.. The grass wasn't mowed, however the owner was there on site and remidied all our issues, except oven and was very nice and helpful. I will be back, becuase I felt that the owner is now aware of some of the recurring issues. The water and beach is lovely and the beds, furniture is adequate- we spend most of our time outside and love the area of course. We rent all 5 units for our family vacation and so this is a wonderful spot for us.
