beautiful spacious apartment in a great area with a very helpful lady helping us check in. The little kitchen area and washing machine were also very handy.

There wasn’t anywhere really comfortable to sit and spend an evening, there’s a kitchen table with chairs or a Japanese style room with seating on the floor, which I’m sure is fine for many people but we couldn’t do it for long periods. There was one comfy sofa but it was in the entrance way.

This place is an absolute treasure, your own private authentic Japanese home in the Gion district! We took a risk staying here because of the limited number of reviews, but we are so so glad we did, it was one of our favourite stays in our 2 weeks in Japan. It is self-check-in and the communication with the host before our arrival was very helpful and comprehensive, so we had no problems at all. The location cannot be beat - it is very close to a bus stop so you can access all of the main sights in Kyoto, and right in the heart of quaint, charming, historic Gion, only a 3min walk to the iconic Yasada pagoda. Everything you need is nearby. The house itself is gorgeous - such great attention to detail, beautiful furniture, great modern facilities, immaculately clean, and super comfortable (options for both Western and futon-style beds). It is a cosy place on the small side but very well-designed so it feels larger than it is, fits 4 people comfortably. We loved sitting on the tatami mats in the tea room on the ground floor after a long day of walking- so peaceful, quiet and special! Cannot recommend this place enough if you want to experience life in a beautiful Japanese-style home, for a small fraction of the price that you'd pay in this location!

Great place in a very nice location - for me the nicest area of Kyoto, very close to everywhere but not in the middle of all the crowds.
