The apartment was beautiful, very well equipped and comfortable. The host was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to help us throughout our stay. There was even a table full of food left out for our arrival (fruit, spinach filo pie, marble cake, orange and polenta filo tart, syrupy fried pastry sweets, bread, cheese, water, wine plus lots of tea and coffee!)

- Netflix wasn't logged in (we logged into our own instead of chasing with host - this was probably easily fixable though.) - I wish I'd been warned about the food platter - much of it wasn't vegan so I had to choose between wasting it or 'breaking' vegan. It was very delicious but I would have opted out if given the choice. These are obviously very picky details and wouldn't put me off staying again. I would love to go back.

Pelagia met us at the house despite our plane being delayed meaning we didn't get in until midnight. There was a wonderful selection of food waiting for us as well. She had a huge wealth of knowledge on what to do and where to eat and helped us book everything. I've never had a more attentive host/ess and cannot give enough thanks for making this such a wonderful stay. The location is also exceptional: it is essentially right in the heart of where you want to be, just a stones throw from all the restaurants, but down a quiet road so we managed to get a good nights rest. I have already recommended to friends and family and would absolutely stay here again.

The host, Pelagia, was absolutely exceptional. She gave us details on all the places we should visit in the surrounding area and why. Without this, we wouldn’t have made as much of the holiday as what we did. Because of her we had an amazing holiday visiting lots of different places. The house itself was very clean and comfortable with beautiful home made welcome treats. Great location too.

The shower is a bit awkward but it works fine overall

It is absolutely clear that the hosts are extremely giving and gracious people, because the house is equipped with anything you may possibly need (and even things you didn't know you needed), including a lovely welcome "buffet". Pelagia met us and gave us amazing tips for places to visit and things to eat, including in non-touristic locations, and was amazingly helpful with every little question and request (and even things we didn't know we wanted), going above and beyond. The location is super central and close to everything, but also in a quiet alley away from the hustle and bustle of the city. **Warning to future guests: the overly well thought out details of the place are likely going to ruin all future properties at which you may stay. ;)

The most amazing hosts I've ever met. They waited for us with pies, cake, eggs (it was before Easter), fruits, juices, water and afterwards came over with wine and cheese. They helped us with suggestions for restaurants, boat reservations and were very communicative. The location was perfect for us because it was in a quiet and central area. The house was really cozy and beautiful.

I won’t have enough words to describe how nice our experience has been with Iro and Themos. They’ve been extremely attentive from pre arrival - like others have mentioned, prepared a feast for us when we came, gave us excellent recommendations and made sure the house had everything that one would possibly need. Not only that but everything that they have in the house is of high quality, not cheap material. Iro was checking in every day and honestly if she has given recommendations, take them because she knows where the good stuff is! We stayed for 4 nights for our honeymoon and absolutely loved every bit of our stay - if you’re in Chania and not staying here, frankly you’re missing out by not having this experience in such a cute place and great host. Thank you Iro!

Iros and Themos attention. They received us with home made pies , sweets and juices for us (veeeery good ones), took care of arranging a car for us to rent, gave us beach towers as a gift, gave us very good recommendations about what to see and where to eat. Izmir House is perfectly located. The house is located a stone's throw from the historical center, from the embankment and from the beach of Kum Kapi. And at the same time, it is "hidden" in the narrow streets of Chania away from the crowds of tourists. A great bonus is that you can park your car near the house. We have been to Crete many times, but Izmir House impressed us from the first minutes. This house has everything and even more. Beautiful interior, everything is done with great taste, thought out to the smallest detail. We felt the love with which this house was created. It was very cozy and comfortable... The house is full of modern household appliances. There is absolutely everything. There are even two coffee machines. And to them - several types of coffee. The hospitality of the hosts is beyond praise. We were greeted with a cool drink, fruit, cookies and the most delicious spinach pie. There is a bottle of wine, liqueur and apple pie in the refrigerator - the most delicious pie in the world. Iro gave us a lot of recommendations for visiting interesting places and taverns. The hosts have also prepared an album with descriptions of attractions, beaches, taverns and Greek cuisine. Themos and Iro are very warm and sincere people. They were ready to help at any moment. And we are grateful to fate for meeting these amazing people.

Our experience with this accommodation was amazing! The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating with anything we needed and went out of their way to help us and be available for us. For starters, the welcoming we received at this property was out of this world! We had a variety of delicious traditional food/snacks/cakes waiting for us on arrival, along with one of the hosts; Iro, who was waiting for us there to give us the keys, welcome us, give us a tour of the house and share some recommendations with us for food, drinks, activities, things to do or see etc. We went to Chania without any plans or ideas on what to do or see and Iro stayed with us for 2 hours helping us to make a plan and giving us recommendations, which we really appreciated! The hosts also had little gifts prepared for us which was super thoughtful! The property itself was pretty amazing! Super modern, central and spacious! Also, there was parking available near the property or in adjacent streets, which was important to us since we had a rental car. We did go early in when Covid restrictions were just easing down so it wasn't super busy, but finding parking was never an issue even when it got busier in the weekends. The property is very central and walking distance to many taverns, restaurants, bars and the port. It was a lively area, but we had no complaints regarding noise. We regretted not spending more time exploring the main area, since it was so picturesque and beautiful, but we used our time there doing day trips in the surrounding areas. Additionally, the house amenities were again amazing and way more than what you would expect from a normal stay! Finally, the whole trip went so smoothly and it wasn't just an amazing stay, it was also an amazing experience thanks to our hosts!

The apartment was AMAZING. Decorated so stylishly and cozy. Very clean. Had everything you could ever need from cookware, assortment of coffees and teas,olive oil, salt and seasonings for cooking , shampoo, toothpaste, you name it !! The area was the best !! Located right on the harbor, can walk to all the best restaurants and bars, markets and a beautiful beach! The hosts were AMAZING. We have never had more welcoming , kind, accommodating and helpful hosts. Iro provided us with freshly baked pies and treats and provided us with all the best recommendations ! Her attention to detail and amazing hospitality were almost unbelievable. She went extremely above and beyond. The level of hospitality is something we are going to remember forever. If you’re going to be traveling to Chania , you’d be very lucky to stay here.

Just wow! What a gem in the heart of Old Town & Port, 50m from the sea. Within seconds at the best restaurants in town and the amazing sunset. We were welcomed by Iro & Themo with cold drinks, amazing pies, fruits, cookies and the friendliest faces you could see. They gave us a lot of recommendations for the Chania area and the whole Crete area. They know the area well and have recommended us amazing restaurants. We have never been accommodated in a place so full of amenities and products as their place, we had literally 4 types of coffee, honey, a liquor and other tens of things you may need in a kitchen; wet toilet wipes, shower gel, hairdryer and other tens of things you may need in a bathroom. The place is very big for two people and very modern, what a luxury. The interior of the house is amazing, full of art and it has a great feel. Two lounge areas with many sitting types including a rocking chair and two huge pillows. With each passing day we discovered new elements of the house. The place deserves 5 stars, not 3. Three air-conditioning units, say whaaat!? The washing machine, detergent & conditioner have been amazingly helpful! An ironing board is also a available. Themos and Iro have been in touch with us through WhatsApp during our whole stay, have helped us with reserving a place for dinner on multiple nights and have been as hots truly impeccable. When mentioning for the second time that we broke something we've been told "we wish we had this kind of problems", words that we won't forget. We totally recommend Izmir House! We hope we'll be back.

This place is totally amazing. We recommend it to everyone! Iro and Themos are best hosts ever, they are so nice, helpful and nothing is a problem for them. When you meet them you feel just like you know them forever. we were so surprised becaude Iro prepared homemade food for us and it was so delicious! And the place is also wonderful. You can find there everything you need in kitchen - tea, coffee, spices and even mixer or kitchen scale! The same in bathroom. You feel there like at home, it's so cozy and clean. And it is in old town so it's close everywhere. For sure we will visit them again soon! Thanks for everythig!

Very well appointed, comfortable, quiet and excellent location. It was a beautifully restored property 2 minutes walk from the old harbour. It had everything you could possibly want for your holiday.

I consider my self quite picky when rating a stay but honestly Izmir House has everything I was looking for and went beyond my expectations. The house has the best vibe, it’s well located, silent and includes all facilities you need. Iro and Themos have thought of all the details and have an amazing taste. First of all, the hosts are the best hosts that we 've ever met! Magnificent people, friendly, happy to give us a lot of information for whole region of Chania. They gave us fruits, local products for welcome and some other very tasty goodies and drinks like raki for the next days. The house was perfect! So, clean, quiet, organized and with optimized spaces! The bed was ultra comfort with many pillows! The whole aesthetic with the boho decoration made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. Coffee! Tea! So, many varieties and flavors! This house has everything and more than your house! We also had free Netflix! Really! We could stay there for ever! The location of the house is in perfect. The courtyard is in front of the gate of the old town. The house is just 50m away from the port. Moreover, you can always find free parking. We give 10+++++

Even before travelling, the contact with the owners was quick, uncomplicated and warm with answers to all our questions. The recommended pick-up service worked perfectly (thank you Mr. Fotis) and the owner (Iro) was present upon arrival. The welcome was exemplary and superb, the introduction to the place was flawless and complete. All amenities available you could wish for in a rented apartment and so many more pleasant things! A stylish and tastefully decorated place, with a comfortable bed, plenty of space for two, a fully equipped kitchen, nice bath, flawless WLAN and a big TV. Very efficient air conditioning units in both levels of the little house keeping temperature and humidity at a pleasant level. All necessary hygiene measures in place: disinfectant dispensers, new (wrapped) sponges, automatic disinfectant devices in the bathroom and other means of protection (house is prepared by a professional and certified cleaning service for each renting party). Iro took really a lot of time introducing us to the Greek hospitality, explaining the place, the city and the island of Crete. She went beyond expectation in her care for the guests. We received tons of recommendations for places to go, things to see and foods/restaurants to try. Beach towels and other things were readily prepared and gave us a more than pleasant start into our vacation. Location of the place was perfect - in walking distance of the old city center but away from the busy noises or traffic. Literally only minutes away from all interesting places and close to shopping for food and other things. That was a more than pleasant stay in a beautiful place with perfect hosts (checkout was great too). Thank you for making these days in Greece memorable.
