The location is in the center of Hongdae. Very near the stores and near the train station and bus stop.
No elevator. If your luggage is heavy, you need to use the stairs and climb to the second floor.

The host was really kind and very fast response! I was asking to keep my lunggage before my check-in and after my check-out and she was very kind and ensure that I can do that. The facilities are complete and clean.

The location was absolutely perfect, right off the main strip of Hongdae street but still really quiet. Free washing machine, and kitchen facilities
The place was really unclean, as soon as I checked it it seems to not be cleaned. The shower walls and door had scum everywhere and looked as if it wasn’t cleaned in months, the toilet was disgusting. The mirrors weren’t even wiped down. It looked as if they don’t clean anything they just change the bed sheets. The bed was so uncomfortable aswell, you can tell the mattress was super old. I wouldn’t stay here longer than 2 nights.

great location, private room, free laundry
no heating/cooling in the room. shower/toilet combo.

It has everything you need if you are looking for a basic and no frills place to stay. It was perfect for a solo female traveller. The location is well located and I felt safe. I liked there was a kitchen, washing machine and dryer for use (have to pay 1000won for the dryer). The room is small and basic but has desk and wardrobe space. The host was really attentive and answered all my questions really quickly. She was really helpful!
The walls were thin which I expected. I could hear my neighbour coughing a lot so I was very conscious to not make a lot of noise. I think it would have been nice to have something in the room to clean the room as I was staying 9 days.

The owner is really nice and helpful and the hostel is also very nice!
The hostel is near to Hongik Uni station, and you can find restaurants, shopping malls nearby. The room may look a little bit small but it has everything you need. Although it is winter now, the room is warm and nice. Also, the bed is clean and comfortable. Highly recommend to girls who come to travel Korea alone! The owner answered my questions quickly and help me solve the problems I encountered ෆ. I have spent a wonderful time here~Thank you^^

I LOVE staying here. This place is amazing, its quiet, simple and you can find it. The clubs and bars are right next to it, so you can have fun. I wi be staying again soon ♡
The only thing I noticed this time was that I was getting ready and I went to check myself in the only full mirror. A girl came out of the bathroom to and we chatting less than 3min and someone walked out of the room and told us to be quiet.
We weren't talking loud at all and it was 3pm. She was extremely rude to us for no reason.

Omg, was great to have my own bathroom and shower. Place is small but exactly what I needed. Perfect location. Easy access to come and go. Laundry on site
N/A. I actually enjoyed it.
Though, if noise bothers you, bring ear plugs. You are near a lot of the action

I ordered this place for my mommy who stayed 7 days in private room in women’s division which is located on the 2nd floor in Oct 2022. The room, bed and shower were so tiny so that only for one person.
Negative side: it is located in the Hongdae entertainment area where full of restaurants and night clubs so, It was noisy by night. The room did not have AC and heating facilities but a fan, some days it was cold In the room.
Plus side: The room was clean enough and has a refrigerator. Public kitchen and public bathroom had everything you need for free: hot and cold drinking water, mask, washing machine and detergents etc. Located near to the entertainment, Food, shopping street And subway line number 2 (Nearest exit 9). Reception ajoshi (bother) is very friendly and supportive who allowed me to visit my mom’s room even though outsiders are not allowed to go inside.
The room did not have AC and heating facilities but a fan, some days it was cold In the room the staff cold not help for this problem I thought the had a floor heating system maybe it was not the time to start in October!?!

The location is exceptional, located at the center of Hongdae. There are lots of places to eat. There are nearby bus stops and train station too. What I love most about Choco Residences are the staff. They are very friendly, warm and made sure we are comfortable. On my way to the airport after checkout, our host even brought us by car to the train station because it was raining pretty bad. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again! 11/10

The location is great, right in the middle oft he busy area in Hongdae, but on a side street that is not too loud. The host was very nice and even help in giving a ride to the Metro station for my very early flight. The room and bed though small, does have storage space, chair, small fridge, fan, desks, drawers and small closet.
The air conditioning is centralized and cannot be controlled for each individual room. The vent for mine was right on top of the bed so at times it would be very cold when the AC turned on, then a little hot when it was off. The fan provided helped with it.

Location is very good, close to Hongdae Walking Street and just right in the middle of everything. Host is super nice! Helped me carry the luggage and I could even leave one there for a few hours after check-in. The room is pretty small, but it's a goshiwon after all. A private room with own bathroom for this price is hard to beat. There's a small kitchen area and washing machine as well. No shampoo/body wash etc. so make sure to bring your own.
I guess if you're a bit of a clean freak this might not be for you (it is by no means dirty though!). The air-con turns on and off automatically and cannot be adjusted by yourself (I think). So it was a bit cold at times, but there's a blanket so that's also fine. There's some kind of red light (for emergencies?) inside the room, which might be a bit disturbing when the lights are turned off.

Staff- the 아저씨/reception staff was very informative and friendly. He even went out of his way by taking me to the bus stop! There’s a bucked filled with tangerines every morning. What a sweet gesture!
Facilities- I read the reviews and saw pictures of the single rooms with private bath. It is a very small cubicle, but it has everything I needed on my solo trip: wifi, TV, small fridge, closet, hangers, hairdryer, table and chair. The accommodation includes a small communal kitchen with a stove, microwave, hot & cold drinking water taps, washing machine, and coin dryer. Everywhere’s nice and clean. I was really warm in my room during the whole stay in the cold winter season.
Location- I chose this place mainly because of the location so I brought ear plugs and was ready to bear with the noise, which was really not bad at all!!
Choco is located in an ally way just off the main shopping street, but since the surrounding is always busy, I didn’t feel unsafe at all.
Price- Extremely happy with the price I paid for the accommodation. It’s the most suitable for a solo traveller on a budget trip who just need a bed to sleep on at night.
Note- bring your own towel, toiletries. Choco provides slippers, toilet paper, and rubbish bags. Bring ear plugs if you are noise sensitive. Add the staff on Line before your trip in case you can’t find the location. Be prepared to carry your suitcases up the stairs, you’ll be alright!
None. I have no negative comments as I was already aware of the stairs, size of the room, and potential club music around that area. The 아저씨 was very apologetic with the room size and noise downtown, but he really didn’t have to. I knew and I still chose to stay there. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and will definitely stay there if I travel solo again! :)

I enjoyed my stay for the most part. It is a good value, rooms are small but clean, with free laundry and good shared kitchen facilities. And is Hongdae!
They are very restrictive with many rules, which is fine normally. I have been in so many terrible situations with late night noise. But the walls are thin and the rooms are small and packed together. I was teaching an online English class between 11am and noon and got a knock on my door from the staff who said that I was being too loud. The owner should make this militaristic restrictive atmosphere more clear on the booking site. You can not talk at all! Not even at noon!
