The ambiance was top tier. The breakfast menu was a delight, it was an eye catching elan that was palatable.

They didn’t have heated pools, I enjoy swimming in winter.

Clean, convenient, well kept ,rooms are very nice and comfortable generally.

Can be noisy at times on ground floor closer to the reception area. On this trip communication about construction/redoing of rooms where I was staying was poor and non existent. I was the only guest on that floor and after I said something I was moved to a different room near the reception area.

Nothing exciting

Just old layout and rooms. The room location was very noisy. As some guests checked in 1.00 am. at night. Talking and laughing too loud, which could disturb the sleep of entire guests in the hotel. Even when they were passing through the floor area. Even morning music started at 6.00 am. from.breakfast room, which could be heard in my room and was very disturbing sleep.

Buffet, staff friendliness

1. Walk outside in cold and drizzling weather from reception to the room and back or from the room to breakfast and back. This includes going to the car park and back. 2. Embarrassment when the staff could not verify my Prokard yet it is still valid. It took long for them to give us thumbs up for breakfast.

Well maintained and very clean.

The hotel is in Sandton, a nice place with gardens between buildings. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

The bathroom was not cleaned well and we missed soap the second day. In the morning there was noise for more than 15 minutes.

The location and the free shuttle to Mandela Square. The room size was spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful.

There was no free shuttle to the airport as indicated on bookings.com. A one way cost R610.00 The room was exceptionally noisy. This is due to the tiled looring outside and the metal staircase just outside the door. The staff making noise talking, collecting room service plates and the sound of the room cleaning trolleys early in the morning. People come at different times to the room so that cleaning and setting up of the room is not done in one go. E.g. someone comes to refill the water, someone comes to clean, someone comes to refill the coffee. I thought the hotel was in a building so just using an elevator to go up to the room and down to the main area of the hotel but it was spread out and my elderly mother had far to walk to reach the room, it would have made sense to understand this when booking. It was too far to reach the breakfast area in the morning therefore we just ordered room service. If we had been out in the day then she was too tired to go to the restaurants in the hotel or nearby as too far from the room. The room service required calling various times to get everything for the meal, only one sachet of ketchup given to eat fish and chips. Things were forgotten and I had to call back.

Location was central. So that was good. There was a shuttle to and from Mandela Square. The staff was amazing. Mary in the dining room was especially fun. I was scheduled to stay 2 nights, but I had an issue at the airport. I came back to stay one more night. The night staff was so helpful and understanding. Got a room right away. I am truly thankful for the hospitality.
