I loved the location of hotel and that it’s a straight shot from Narita airport. I love the kitchenette and the family style rooms. Good thing is the bathroom is separate from the shower. The staff is always super helpful and pleasant. There are laundry rooms within walking distance from the hotel, so that was very helpful. If you don’t mind the walk, it is so accessible to many restaurants and shopping areas. I would definitely choose this location/hotel again.
We booked a 6 bed room and although it was really comfortable, it was a little cramped, sharing one shower between six people. And there was no room to store luggages or to spread them out. The laundry room is always packed so it was hard to do laundry.

Room was very spacious by Tokyo standards. We were a family of four and each of us had a comfortable bed (1 bunk bed and 2 single beds). Room is also kept very clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. It is also near to Ueno station (JR lines), about 4 mins walk, and you can be anywhere in Tokyo from there.
By no fault of the hotel, it is about a 15 mins walk, if you are coming by the Keisei Liner from Narita Airport to Keisei Ueno, so do have that in consideration (when you come and go to Airport). We took a taxi to spare us the trouble of pushing the luggages for the distance and it is about 600-700 yen

Good location with close proximity to trains. A short walk to shops and local attractions including zoo and meusem and Ueno Park. Room was comfortable and quiet and just large enough for family of 5. We appreciated the provision of toaster during our stay and staff were very helpful.
A lack of fresh air as there were no windows that could be opened. The sitting area was uncomfortable. The couch in our room was broken as you basically sank into a hole when you sat in it.

The staff were very friendly and multilingual. The room setup was great for a family. Well stocked kitchenette. Close to Ueno park. Communal laundry facilities.
A bit of a walk to Ueno station (10mins+). Pillows could be improved. It would be useful if each floor had a central rubbish bin.

Very friendly and helpful services from all the front desk staff especially Ray who helps us with the storage of our baggage.
All the staff speaks good English. They made us feel welcome throughout our 5 days stay, even gave us parting souvenirs on our last day. Thank you all!
Also, we like the unlimited supply of the toiletries at the front desk!

Feel of a hotel, but was an apartment.
No view.
No where to put clothes - was a rail with a few coat hangers, but no shelves so we lived out of our suitcases which I hate doing.
The main bed was two singles rather than a double.

Firm recommendation for larger families/groups. We stayed at the Mimaru Tokyo Ueno North hotel which is made up entirely of suites of various sizes. We had a suite for six (for five of us), three adults (my wife and I plus 21 year-old son) and two teenage kids, 15 & 17.
The suite has four single beds, more like 3/4 doubles (based on U.K. bed sizes). Fine for one adult, plenty of room. The beds are quite firm, certainly firmer than I’m used to at home, but very comfortable. Lots of pillows and some of them are double sided with the rice grain type filling on one side. Others are soft like a feather pillow (not sure of the filling but they were just like they were filled with duck down). There’s also two bunk beds which are similar size but narrower. My oldest son, 6ft, had no issue sleeping in it.
There’s a kitchen area and seating for six. It’s equipped with a hot plate, sink, fridge/freezer and kettle along with cutlery and plates for six. Sharp knives and chopping board, plus pots & pans under the sink. We didn’t cook in the room, but we bought in bread, butter, cereal and cheese for breakfast to fuel up before we started the day. There’s no toaster, but you can borrow these from reception for no charge (Mimaru hotels have a variety of what they call “rental” items but they’re all free to borrow).
There’s a lounge area with TV (all Japanese channels) but we borrowed an Apple TV from reception so we could watch Netflix etc.
It’s about an 8 minute walk to Ueno station and about 10-12 minutes from Ueno Centre (lots of restaurants and shops). Lawson and Family Mart within a few minutes for bits & pieces and there’s a larger supermarket in the station (although it seems more expensive than the konbinis for the stuff we’ve been buying for breakfast).
The only thing I could say against it, was the lack of shelf space in the wardrobe for things like t-shirts & shorts etc that you’d normally lay flat rather than hang up.
A shelf unit or drawers in the wardrobe would have been useful for non-hanging clothes like underwear etc.

in-suite mini kitchen: sink for dishes, microwave, trash can, microwave/fridge. table to sit around/eat at, lots of room, location is really good, there are a bunch of restaurants close by and right outside is ueno station on the yamanote line.
for some reason in the middle of the night the air-conditioning turned off, it may be that we misunderstood how to use the thermostat. another thing is maybe it would be helpful to show or notify there are dark curtains behind the shoji screens that can cover the windows and make the room darker, as we didn't even think to open them but discovered they were there the second day

The hotel was excellent. Good room size with great amenities. Situated in a more quiet part of Tokyo and is close to Ueno Station, Ueno park and zoo.

We love the layout of the room, we travel with our two boys and we chose a room with bunk beds, which make it greater for them. The room had a small kitchen, the bathroom was great and a dining area. Overall it was a great experience!
The beds were a little bit two hard, so for us staying 4 nights it was a little bit tough.

Super friendly staff, all really helpful. Handy coin laundry to do washing after travelling. Close to Ueno station, restaurants and convenience stores. Baggage storage was handy for our last day and the staff arranged for an airport transfer for us. Would definitely stay here again.
Nothing.

Location was very handy - 5 minutes walk to Ueno Station. Also only9 mins walk to Ueno Park. Staff were absolutely wonderful. I’d stayed on in Tokyo for an extra week alone and they checked on me every time I passed the Reception desk.I received a lovely handwritten note and a delicious gift of tiny panda themed cakes when I left from Sandra. I really enjoyed my conversations with her and the others on the main desk. Thanks again Mimaru Tokyo North team! I enjoyed having well appointed kitchen facilities to cook in after a long day out exploring. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. A wonderful stay!
