I rarely write reviews, but I must comment on the outstanding service of Raquel. She works at the front desk and has excellent knowledge of the booking system, very impressive social skills, perfect English and endless patience. She even found my lost two thousand dollar phone and made sure I got it back. I suggest that corporate levels of Selina pay her to help the other employees understand how to be the perfect representative
of a luxury hostal. She listens carefully and shows genuine compassion while maintaining a high level of professionality. I have been to 30 countries and about a thousand hostals, Raquel is simply amazing. I assume she is a well educated professional who is doing this kind of work for fun as part of a vacation experience. I will give my full input on this hostal as I find it very strange and am already here making a review.
I appreciate how safe the place is, but The rules are too corporate. You cannot even smoke a cigarette on the terrace, way too Americanized! The internet speed in the co- work area is not fast enough for teaching English online. if you are so obsessed with making Americans feel like whatever you imagine Americans want, GET BETTER INTERNET and let people enjoy a smoke on the terrace I mean come on..... Too much white paint and pretentious faux bohemian decor. The rich uptight gringos love this place but even they comment that they feel like they have not left the office place. The sterile unnatural feel is just creepy, and the extra 200 pesos for the workspace makes this hostal look like it is owned by stingy tacanos. Everyone knows you make enough money to offer a free workplace for digital nomads and this extra charge makes you look desperate for money. If you want to give a fancy image, at least make it look like you are not so desperate to squeeze pesos out of people just for access to that sterile purgatory full of uncomfortable Chairs. At least put some fancy chocolate in there and some surrealist artwork on the wall so people can relax a bit. All the rich gringos left last week, so now it's mostly Mexicans and Europeans and they are all nice and say hello to each other and the whole place has a suddenly human vibe despite the generically corporate decor and rules. I am a gringa, so I understand my people and I have never seen so many gringos so unable to relax around each other. This hostal makes me feel like I am in an American corporation or a macintosh store. Relax a bit! Americans love Friday kahlo, don't be afraid of art. The corporate feel makes Europeans unhappy, they only stay here for the internet. I love the cleaning ladies, they Always smile and have fun and remind me that I am not in purgatory or in a corporate office.

The dorms are extremely comfortable and the bathroom is so big
The living room could improve, it was little bit lack of maintenance

super location, close to everything. large bathroom. big enough dorm to actually put your luggage somewhere. staff helpful. lots of wellness activities to try.
door to dorm slammed. woken up over and over. lock box for my bed didn’t work. pool side area smelt very bad of sewage. can’t consume your own soft drinks pool side.

Super great location, awesome pool and leisure area, restaurant was nothing to write home about but the community kitchen in hostel was great, everything you need. The coffee station was bare, not stocked, as the staff are pretty much stoned all day, I did really like the yoga included and they gave my friend a free pass as well. Definitely a cool place, not managed though. Check your bookings, make sure you re confirm...sketchy stuff with bookings and cancelation policy etc.
The staff are young and don't give a flying Kentucky moon pluck! They're super stoned all day, no toilet paper in community washroom for 2 days... coffee station wasn't stocked even after I asked. They don't answer the phone, don't return messages for weeks, its very badly managed. Rachel will not manage anything, puts everything off, too stoned and doesn't care about her job. Very sad, really cool beautiful hostel. Located in the party, so hope you like noise!!! Lots of it!!! Good party place if you're into that, just very poorly managed.

super close to the beach, in theory it is nice
the washrooms were no clean, even when they “cleaned” them they only wiped down the counter and empty the garbage bin. it was a bathroom shared by 6 people.
i am short and couldnt even sit upright in the bunk
there were not a lot of areas to chill, the pool side had 2 hammocks and a couch, everyone was always siting on the floor
you have to pay for the cowork… that should be said beforehand, and in the other space where you could work, there was live music…. not super comfortable for people who need to work.
the food and coffee were not the best

Great location
Waaaaay too loud and too expensive. I've stayed in hundreds of hostels and this was the absolute worst sleeping experience I've ever had.

Selina's biggest asset is the quality of the facilities.
Christian, one of the member of the reception staff have been the most helpful and adorable person met during this trip. I am very grateful for his assistance all the way through my stay.
Sound insulation is really poor. Selina is located at the heart of bars and party places. With the bar downstairs and its fellow neighbours, it was very hard to sleep and caused many guests difficult nights. this should be a to priority to fix.

location
overpriced for the quality of the establishment, our room constantly smelling from the pipes and the toilets next to the room. there always some noise it was impossible to rest at times. the main problem though for us was that there was no sense of community as in other selina locations, and the staff was far from friendly, i have stayed already in multiple selina locations but after this experience i would really need to consider if i will trust it again.

loved the location, could walk barefoot to the beach for quick surf sessions which made it so easy to out out! the private queen room was perfect as well and we especially loved the huge shower
its just VERY loud but then again all of sayulita is so if you want to actually sleep at night I recommend going a bit outside of downtown sayulita

Not much. There’s a total façade of quality. The place is really rundown and not kept up well. I liked the staff and the garden restaurant attached.
This place is noisy and stinky. The walls are SOOOOO thin and there’s a club playing music which can be heard through the walls all night and into the early morning. We didn’t sleep and had to move to a different hostel because we weren’t sleeping. of course they didn’t refund us any of our money nor did they offer us a different room. This place looks nice at first but underneath it all it’s falling apart. Poorly maintained. Uncomfortable, mold on the bed curtains. Not well designed. No good hang out spots to meet people. The pool is dirty. Weak shower pressure. There’s a giant lock box and shelf in each dorm bed that you constantly knock into as you’re sleeping. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague!

Great staff and loved the yoga classes

The rooms are super spacious, as well as the bathroom which is amazing! The rooms are cleaned everyday, the towels replaced. Unfortunately only one hair dryer at the reception desk to share with other guests. The location is amazing, super central and 2 minutes walking from from the beach. They offer an amazing range of wellness activities for free for guests!! The only thing is that the rooms are so humid, strong smell of humidity, the cloths the wardrobe get super humid.. but there is air conditioning/dehumidifier

Great location and friendly staff. I used the coworking space which had great wifi and was very comfortable. Daily yoga classes were included too and 1 surf lesson!
Bring ear plugs, it’s right in the centre so you can hear all the nearby bars blasting music until 2/3am!

The property is very central and just minutes from the main beach/surf break.
The front of house team are lovely and very helpful with any queries.
The rooms are comfortable and clean.
The property is ridiculously loud, at all hours of the day - if you're not being subjected to very loud music (and associated base reverberating around the room), then you can hear every last thing happening in the neighbouring rooms (I will leave that to your imagination).
I stayed in a private room with shared bathroom - the toilets are located in the same unit as the shower and there are only two per floor which is not an ideal setup.

I was not offered a breakfast
Poor communication from both eceptionist.. The one who checked me in, and the morning receptionist as well.

Room was really moist and with a really small high window

free activities and concept
the staff was very lazy to help with doubts.
it is very loud at night.
the shared bathroom was flooded and stayed like that for all of my stay. I’ve been to other Selinas and by far this has been the worse

I loved the location - it's perfect for surfing digital nomads. I was able to surf in between my meetings and work tasks because the beach was so close!
Sometimes the bathroom did not have toilet paper.
