Very friendly staff and great location.

Could have added more options for the buffet , I liked the authentic mango smoothies and good price as well .

Had a enjoyable and comfortable stay would highly recommend if staying in Dumaguete .. Just wished there was a little better breakfast option it was ok but a little boring

The hotel is dated and truly shows it’s age. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We purchased breakfast for the three we booked at the hotel. The first day the breakfast was not great. We skipped the second day breakfast because it looked like the same as the first. The third day we tried once again and ended up just having the coffee. If I return to this hotel it will be due to the great staff.

Items to improve in the room it would be better if the TV will be upgraded to smart TV. For breakfast, please give options for foreigner guests that doesn’t eat filipino breakfast like cereals, pancakes, and bacon. I like how the place are always kept clean and friendly staffs that gave good service during our stay

Very good location, but a bit run down hotel conditions and the breakfast is very limited. Aircon noisy but worked OK. Else a really nice place to stay. Staff is very helpful. Lifts work. Nice news of town from upper levels. Safe environment. I had a good stay.

The hotel is located near popular attractions in the city. The scrambled eggs at Breakfast was perfect taste. The staff are on the point.

The property was generally clean and staff/customer service is excellent always available to help with any issues. One or two things could be a little better, like the breakfast choice is a little limited, so a bit more variety would be great. We had a couple of issues in the room with small droppings from small reptiles on the bedding, which was a bit off putting bur the start always changed and cleaned immediately. The food available in the cafe essencia is good with plenty of choices for everyone very reasonably priced. Would stay again as in an excellent location for getting around Dumaguete and surrounding areas.

The Staff was always friendly and ready to assist with whatever the request was. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping the room clean, and meal options at breakfast were always satisfying. Transportation options, including parking, were great as well. There were also plenty of walking locations nearby making it a convenient location to stay while in Dumaguete

Lobby is clean and decorated. Café in lobby. Room is old. Linens clean yet quality is less than expected. Amenities none. Tiny soap wrapped in plastic. Shampoo pack. Oh gosh. Basic hotel room. May not meet international travelers expectations.

That was worse hotel experience I have ever encountered!! The noise was ridiculous! Who puts a disco club in the middle of a hotel and have the music so loud it disturb the entire hotel?? And to top it off I saw a rat yes a RAt in my room!! You don't expect for me to pay for that hell week do you?

Hotel Essencia is ❤️. Clean hotel, every hotel staff is courteous, friendly and helpful (from front desk, security, restaurant, housekeeping), reliable wifi, delicious and satisfying free breakfast (like fried garlic rice, danggit, hotdogs, corned beef, fruits, bread, juice, coffee) free on-site parking and lobby is very spacious with lots of seats to entertain our guests. Staff are very attentive to guests needs and they are very quick to respond requests. Kudos to the staff!👍👏 We love the Hotel Spa with a reasonable price. They were open until 12 midnight. We enjoyed a very relaxing massage every few nights before sleeping time. So worth it! Per request, guests can have option of in-room massage. One more thing about Essencia is it’s accessibility to the city center. Walking distance to Lee Plaza, Jollibee and other restaurants, banks, boulevard and a good walk to public market. If needed, there are a lot of tricycles around as well. Highly recommending Hotel Essencia! We’ll surely go back. Great experience!

Everybody in the hotel was so helpful & kind. The room was fine, but the bath room need extra cleaning due to limestone. The drinking glass in the bathroom, were not clean. The breakfast was fine, but the food was cold.

First time in Dumaguete & the staff & service here was phenomenal. I came in with my big family (about 9 of us) & everyone was very helpful. Huge shoutout to the bell hop/van driver guy who gave us tips & pointers around the city. Jade My husband/I, along with my parents, will be coming back here again.

Good overall experience for a one week stay...

Property is ok. However, shower is clogged and water tend to overflow into the toilet area. Also did not like the frosted glass wall in the shower area for privacy reasons. You can clearly see the silhouette when taking a shower. It was uncomfortable since we had our teenage niece with us. Hair dryer automatically shuts off every 30 seconds so drying hair took a while, not ideal if you have limited time. Free breakfast was included and was ok except for runny scrambled eggs. We ordered ramen for lunch upon checked in but was delivered too long that the soup absorbed into the noodle making the ramen dry. I asked for additional soup which they provided. Overall, hotel is ok but I would probably stay in other hotels along Rizal Avenue Blvd. which is more convenient location wise.
