Our stay was disappointing from the moment we arrived on Dec 31st. The security at the gate would not allow our Uber to drive into the compound, even after letting them know we were checking in as guests. They asked the driver to drive through a side road, park and use the side entrance. Unbeknownst to us, this was the beach entrance and absolutely did not make sense to use for guest check in. We had to walk through the sand in our travel clothes and shoes to make it through the back entrance. Our only saving grace was a couple of security guards that helped us carry our suitcases after they heard our complaints. The explanation that we got from the Reception was that there may have been confusion as the main gate security guard assumed we were New Year’s party guests and only needed access to the beach but once we clarified that we were indeed guests, the main gate security guard was unapologetic and would not even allow our Uber through the gate a second time to pick us up. We had to walk up a hill and out of the gate to catch our Uber. To make matters worse, on one of the nights, we were dropped off at about 4am, showed the room key to a separate security guard and he let our Uber through the gate, only this time to be followed by a strange man that demanded to see our room key again to confirm we were indeed hotel guests. This whole experience definitely left us feeling targeted and discriminated against. I would never again stay here.

We stayed at Bahari Dhow for about a week and the experience was good. Looking at the other reviews I was quite surprised because the room was very clean and also the pool was maintained well. Of course some bugs could be seen, because we had the room on the first floor and after all this is the tropics... The bugs came from outside and were mainly in the toilet. We did not see bed bugs etc.
There was lots of security guards but the it was not possible to lock the windows of the room because they were a bit broken, so that would be a good thing to fix to make the security of the place better.
The breakfast was good. There was an event on sunday in the restaurant and many locals also attended, which was fun!
The garden at the villas was really pretty and well maintained! There was a gardener who climbed the palm trees to pick coconuts and that was fun to see.

Good place right on the beach. The rooms are in fair shape. I would stay there again because it was affordable. The restaurant was good too but they did mess up on my last order and I was not able to get my order corrected or my money back because the restaurant closed and I was leaving that morning.

Was having to leave early at 7 am and kitchen open only at 7 so they deliver our breakfast to our room at 6 .30 .so that we were able to leave on time. To remember that breakfast was included on our booking. This was very nice from the kitchen staff.

Overall a very good stay (4 days). The villas are large and clean, the shared kitchen well-equipped. AC in the rooms very good. Nice beach front restaurant and bar with live music on Sunday (s). Wifi for me was very bad, which was the only complaint I had.

Cool place that is cheaper than other hotels in the area. Unfortunately, the swimming pool was not working throughout the stay and the water in it was green.
Besides, delicious breakfasts in the hotel's restaurant overlooking the ocean.

Had an amazing stay at Bahari. As expected, it is situated directly on the white sand Diani beach within close proximity to supermarkets and other convenience stores. Our Villa was a shared one but due to Corona, we pretty much had it to ourselves (apart from a couple days where staff members stayed there and one night with other guests). Had a lovely room, ensuite with a balcony overlooking the pool. There is a restaurant on site which serves a buffet breakfast and has a menu with a variety of food for the rest of the day. If you don't feel like eating there, no problem, you have a fully equipped kitchen (cooker, refrigerator, utensils) where you can prepare your own meal...the only downside being that cleaning staff didn't seem to clean there for you, which you will need when other guess occupy the shared areas of the villa. Our room was cleaned daily and fresh towels and toiletries provided. The pool was well kept and there were sun beds outside the villas. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay again! Great price for the location

Liked the general look of the place. Housekeeping need to pay more attention to cleaning cobwebs. Nice pool n seafront restaurant n bar. Rooms need a bit of updating. Lot of rust in bathroom. Put cable in rooms please. Local channels don’t cut it. Overall I like the villa style.

The pools were closed for maintenance upon arrival and both pools was a horrible green colour after cleaning one turned a blue colour but next day was green looked disgusting the room was very dated walls had blood on them the bathroom was dirty tiles missing in the shower toilet cystem was very hot The beach loungers were shabby and was never cleaned up for miring we arrived on the Saturday, Wednesday and Thursday was on safari thank goodness and checked out on Friday morn losing a substantial amount of money and costing us even more for another hotel bitterly disappointed and nearly ruined the start of our holiday

The Villa was fab. We upgraded to a Master room which was excellent and well worth the money. Close to the beach, perfect location. The Villa was very clean and all the appliances were brand new.

Each building has 3 rooms and a shared common area. Wifi works in the room and sometimes at the dining room. Very secure area but when you go on the beach the locals hound you and don’t let up, every day. AC works fine, hot water. Restaurant has tasty food with free breakfast. Supermarket less than 5 minute walk away

I liked the area it was good. Upon arrival they took us to the room which we didn't not book and was way smaller than we reserved, staff then proceeded to tell to "push the beds together" to make it a double bed, we refused. The staff were rude
as they were just hoping we would be ok with that room and take it, during check-in this brought an altercation between us and we felt as though we had to beg them to give us our rightly reserved room. Then staff we took us to smaller room ignored us during our 4 night stay. I would recommend staying here if you are not a " preferred guest" to them

There are no phones in the rooms, so if you need to talk to reception or want room service, you have to walk to the restaurant or reception and speak in person. Breakfast buffet had very limited choices and ran out of some items if you came for late breakfast. Be warned that if you choose a budget room, you will have a small room in a 3-bedroom villa with no chairs at all to sit down in your room. You would have to go downstairs to the shared living room, and if other tenants of the 3-bedroom villa are there, you will have to out to the beach to sit. We had a very poorly functioning toilet, which took 15-20 minutes to fill the tank after it was flushed. Overall, the property was disappointing and would not upgrade me to a deluxe room even when I said I would pay the extra charges.

I recently stayed here with 4 of my friends. The place was wonderful. It has its own private beach, large swimming pools for both adults and children. The villas are a great size, you can sleep up to 6 adults. Each villa has a dining room, sitting area, kitchen and a guest bath, aside from the full bathrooms in the bedrooms. Our stay included breakfast, which was good. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. It was our first time staying at this resort but it will definitely not be our last.

We had such a great stay at bhari dhow villas and did not want to leave! The setting is on the beach is actually better than the more expensive 5 star resorts. The food and breakfast is delicious and very reasonably priced. They organised a few daily activities and my wife loved zumba. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Maureen on reception and the security guards on the beach and at the front gate. The new management are doing the place up and we are really looking forward to returning soon. Seriously, this place is a bargain for the price!

The Bahai Dhow Hotel has an excellent location directly on the beach. The hotel staff are excellent and eager to please. The Hotel's multiple swimming pools are wonderful and the restaurant is nice, especially on Friday night with a live band playing good music.

Was good for money. The staff were very helpful. All adjacent hotels were expensive and less populated. These premises are self contained villas where you can cook you own food as it is well furnished. It has three pools. one for children and other two for adults.

Lovely place to get away from Nairobi and spend the weekend, very enjoyable with a group of girlfriends and good quiet place to relax and do nothing but watch the tide roll in and out. Breakfast facing the beach and sunrise was lovely. Beachboys not allowed to come near property which was fantastic.
