The setting was lovely and very central. It was great to have a restaurant on the property. Was nice to have laundry facility as we were there for a week. Loved the fact that the cabin was made of wood and that all the necessary comforts were there, which included good beds and linen. Great to have windows for ventilation and for mosquito prevention. Ladies who serviced the place each day did a great job,

There was no aircon. It was not so bad for end of August, but I would definitely not return in December holidays without an aircon. The upstairs loft rooms had no privacy......no door. As a family with 2 grown sons who took their girlfriends with, it was a dealbreaker for returning with the family. This was also not disclosed in the advert Bathroom facilities were in need of serious revamp and although cleaned there was a lot of mould. The bathroom also had no place to hang clothes, so you ended up putting clothes over the basin or on the floor. Staff were constantly sitting on the bench in front of our cabin which was very annoying and gave us no opportunity to enjoy our front stoep. The restuarant bathrooms were VERY dirty and VERY neglected.

The environment (nature) was beautiful.

The charlet was filthy, mouse/rat dropping on beds, kitchen counters. Bird crap on counters and basins. Complained they Swept the crap of from the beds and counters onto floor...they did replace the bedding after our requested. Towels was dirty, we had to clean the place after the "clean". Gas braai not working, one burner was working on the gas stove. Power keeps on tripping.

Well laid out nice property and we were pleased with an unexpected upgrade. Good restaurant on site with reasonable prices and selection. Good security and entry control.

The lodge correctly advised that a 4 x 4 is not needed on the route to the property. This is true if your route is on the R22 and N2 which are good roads, We used a 'short cut' from the N2 through Phongolo as advised by google maps. This included poor sand and gravel sections of road which could be difficult in poor weather. Unless you have a 4 X 4 then take our advise and use the R22 even if its a bit longer!

Nice place poorly managed. Staff is not prepared to handle this place properly, and we have encountered several issues when checking in. Breakfast on site is not available and they won't tell you until you check in. The restaurant opens at 12pm and there is nowhere to buy coffee or water in the lodge. The only option is to drive out of the lodge and go to a coffee shop / supermarket. Chalets can use a thorough maintenance and cleanliness. The place is very quiet and nice.

The accommodation was lovely and clean . Check in was easy and quick and the staff were friendly.

The fridge did not work properly.
