Nice location, good service, the people were nice

the room was just too small with windows that were high, so ended up being claustrophobic. the bed was queen size for two people so difficult to sleep, should've been a double bed at least the bathroom was just too small and narrow overall it seemed like an afterthought, almost like a store room had been converted into a guest room. And I paid good money for it, it wasn't cheap so felt a bit cheated

Dar Hanane is beautiful, it is very old and evocative, but very well maintained. You enter through a beautiful ancient door and there is an amazing courtyard on the right with a plunge pool and orange trees surrounded by bedrooms. The whole building is immaculate, painted in white with lovely spaces to sit and read. The roof top is one of the best things about the place, it has an amazing view of the Medina, and has sun all day long with views of the Atlas Mountains and the call to prayer resonating all around you at sunset. We were fortunate enough to have the place to ourselves, and had a wonderful time in the sitting room with the fire burning in the cooler January nights. I cannot recommend Dar Hanane and the people that work there enough. We had a delicious supper there one night which was beautiful, and breakfast served on the roof every morning was delicious and varied. A wonderful experience, enhanced by the staff who were so helpful and full of advice about Marrakech.

The Honesty bar was poorly stocked and expensive, we bought our own drinks to put them in there and ice wasn’t easily available. The transfers from an to the airport were a lot more than expensive than the normal price when you ask a taxi driver. It was convenient to have these things arranged but you will pay a premium. some of the restaurant recommendations were a bit boring but that is more a question of taste than a criticism.

I think the breakfast and service from the staff was great. It was pleasant to be the only guests at the time of our stay, but that might not be a good sign..

The location was terrible - when I was booking, I didn't know any better, I thought as long as you're inside the Medina its all the same. There wasn't really any guidance ahead of time. For what you're paying, this is not a good spot - there are always men outside smoking and eyeballing you when you enter into the riad (which you have to knock to get inside, it was very hard to find the first time, there are kids running around grabbing at you when you try to enter. This is all being said after experiencing the entire Medina, this location was considerably worse. That's all well and good, not every location is going to be prime, but then you're charged as if it is (and even some reviews stated its a good location, not sure how that's the case). The Riad also helped booking a taxi to another city and we paid about 50% more than the standard rate. This was a real letdown because we thought we could trust Dar Hanane in getting us a decent rate. A little here and there is ok, but 2,250 Dirham vs 1,500 Dirham is way too big of a difference. The 1,500 rate was the rate multiple others had told us they paid (when we inquired at our destination) and even the rate we paid when our other hotel booked the return trip for us (returning back to RAK). It was also concerning that the main door is locked, with a key, from the inside. So if there is an emergency, you need to find someone with a key who might be sleeping. I got a food delivery at around 11pm, not too late for folks on a vacation, but I couldn't get the food from the driver because the door was locked and all the lights were out. I didn't realize we'd be trapped inside.. The bathroom shower and one of the sinks also didn't drain properly. Again, all of this is ok and forgivable, but I'm almost embarrassed to say how much we spent per night and considering the above, that's unexcusable.

Muhammed was great. He sat with us on arrival and gave us the full low down on getting around the medina! From places to visit, to eat and to shop!! He couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, as were the rest of the staff - we didn't want to leave! We'd love to come and stay again.

everything, it was stunning and the people fantastic. especially the night guard who made us an amazing breakfast each morning and was extremely helpful! (Mahed). some people had noted we could be lost in the Medina but the landmarks are pretty clear and we found our way easily

Staff was nice enough, but it wasn’t charming at all and there is no attention to details. Water pressure was terrible, the beds were uncomfortable and rooms noisy. Not good value for money.

The hospitality at this Riad was great! Zechariah was a very conscientious and kind host. Be advised that it's deep in the Medina so message/call ahead and someone will meet you on the main road to show you the way when you first arrive!

Staff were really nice and very helpful. The location was great. The room was spacious and comfy with lots of clean towels daily.

In one of the articles in the telegraph (linked on website) it mentions the property has an honesty bar but this wasn't the case. It's important to point out that its a 'dry' riad.

GREAT Riad, we had the large room with two double beds that worked well with our small children. Great Oasis in the madness of Marrakesh. Airport transfers were a breeze and we landed directly at the Riad's door.

Nothing, I'm sure the kids would have liked the tiny pool to have some heat - but that's unrealistic !!

we loved our stay at Dar Hanane. It is in the heart of the medina, tucked away in a quiet side street which made it a peaceful little sanctuary. The staff were incredible. Mohammed was very helpful from the beginning, provided us with a detailed map and gave us recommendations on attractions, museums and restaurants, and also told us what to avoid and best ways to haggle. Zakaria was the nighwatcher and was the loveliest person - he would make breakfasts very early in the morning and walk us to taxis when we would need a ride at 4am. The space is very pretty, has a small pool on the ground floor which is great to dip your feet in after a long day walking around and is very cool when the weather is warm. We also managed to see the sunrise two days in a row from the terrace, and lounged there in the evenings before dinner. We highly recommend this place and would visit again in the future.

Beautiful riad in the medina, room was comfortable with a/c. Rooftop is very pretty, breakfast is delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They packed us a breakfast to go since our flight was leaving very early, a nice touch.

Really didn’t appreciate not being warned about the tax to pay upon departure despite seeing the owner a few hours before our departure. This tax had to be paid in cash - only euro or dhs - no card option available. Was a pain and a bad surprise at 3am. Hotel mentioned they would send a porter for our luggage upon arrival but nobody picked up the phone so had to have our driver organize it instead.

Breakfast was different every morning and delicious, attention to detail was amazing. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. We felt very well looked after.

First of all the staff was amazing! They welcomed us with mint tea and gave us many advises and a first orientation of the city. Especially Yassin one of the staff took perfectly care of us and served us every evening with really nice Moroccan food. The room was super clean, had really nice interior and it has never been loud here. We’d absolutely recommend staying here!

Great rooftop terrace and the suites are very spacious. beds were very comfy. bathrooms were nicely done. great hot shower. staff were very accomodating, friendly and made a real effort.

The communal area was quite cold (we stayed in November). The rooms had a slightly musty smell.

This is a clean, quiet comfortable riad with wonderful friendly staff. It is off the beaten track without the tourist frenzy around the main square and surrounded by a number of interesting museums.

There are limited choices for food around the riad and it is quite tricky to find the first few times, speciay in the dark.

Good Location to walk to all relevant sights. The staff is wonderful and incredibly helpful, very much appreciated!

Great location, friendly and attentive staff, cozy interiors and a very nice rooftop for sunbathing. Breakfast was nice too.

It was difficult to get into the riad one night, a fellow guest had to get up and let us in after around 10 minutes wait. Others had this issue too, but it didn't happen again, so I believe they fixed it.
