I loved the hotel atmosphere, the location, the 4 pools, the cottage was nicely decorated.
Unfortunately a cackaroach showed up in our room. A staff member came and confirmed our suspicion and she took care of it. Unfortunately, I stayed with the feeling that more insects were crawling inside the room. Also, the bed was not comfortable, you could feel the springs on your back.

Very friendly and helpfull staff, great location, romantic atmosphere. Lots of green around, nice pool. Tasty breakfast.
To carry the suitcases up three stairs in the heat.

Breakfast is very nice. Enjoyed eating on the patio.
Very quite.
Staff extremely helpful. Always ready with an umbrella for those typical downpours.

The layout and pools were nice.
The walls were very thin so you could hear everything your neighbors were doing, the main road was very loud at night with police and ambulances, and the room wasn’t as clean as I expected.

Rachel, from the Simonton was so kind, friendly and very nice to us. The little resort is also beautiful and very green. Also the guests were super nice and chilled. You can borrow bicycles.
For a few days is everything fine

Everything was perfect! the staff is amazing, it’s quiet, clean, close to everything, and so unique. I have worked in the travel industry for over a decade, and this place over delivered 100%. We will absolutely be back, and recommend Simonton to everyone.
We loved everything about it.

location really good close to Duval street
Bed uncomfortable and small, very expensive per night and no extras though some other guests had free extras. Not good treating guests differently depending on whether booked directly or not. Breakfast mediocre, cold, bland pastries.

Loved the room and balcony. We really liked being able to use any of the pools and that they were open all night. Nice to go for a dip when we got home!

Gorgeous property with heaps of charm. The room was spotless, the breakfast amazing and staff lovely.
There’s not much they can do about it, but the hun men came at 05:30am followed by workmen and a digger lifting the road outside, so it was pretty noisy!

quaint, private, cozy
the chairs in our room took up space. rooms are small so the extra bulky chairs didn’t leave room for much space.

It's a beautiful B&B, in a perfect location, with great pools, some fun activities & a very sweet resident cat.
1) The bathroom - a) no photos available so, we didn't know it would be so small... if one was taking a shower & one was at the sink, you both got a shower because there's no curtain/door for the shower. b) the faucet needs to be replaced. c) the toilet had a slow leak and it filled up about every 20 mins. d)the best light was IN the shower so I had to sit on the shower threshold to apply makeup
2) the bed - after the 1st night I complained about the bed - hard as a rock... And asked if they had an "egg crate type pillow topper for the beds" Staff said "all of our mattress are pillow topped" I told him, "no, this one is not" he just looked at me, after an awkward few seconds he said "well, what do you want me to do" kinda throwing his hands in the air, so I asked for another king sized pillow... so, yes, that was the only solution, I had to sleep on top of 2 king-sized pillows on top of a really high bed (I'm only 5'2" & couldn't put them on the floor, the room was too small for that) and feared rolling off every night.
3) breakfast was just okay.. Nothing really hot, besides the coffee.

Very close to Duval street and the southernmost sunset area. Never needed to take the car out to visit any landmark place. The place was unique with a bunch of cottages for cigar roller factory workers of the yesteryears converted to boutique resort like rooms. Everything was comfortable. Breakfast was really good - you had to choose what you wanted on a checklist - no limits and it would be nicely plated as appropriate and got to your table. Was tastefully decorated for the holidays with a ton of poinsettias - not fake ones but the real deal.
1) In the breakfast area, for the first timers, they need to say that you need to fill in the breakfast checklist. We did not know that and thought it was a sit down service based on what another guest told us and observing waiters bringing in trays for guests. There is a bell at the counter that you could ring for someone's attention but the first timer would not know to ring that, afraid of being impolite.
2) The overall cost was a tad high for what I was used to and the parking cost additional $30 per day. Was not aware that parking was available, but you had to pay. However, the cost aspect would not bother the affluent and would not detract from what they offered and their quirky attention to detail.
