The location is ideal for Algiers city center. in the heart of the old French city center; la grande poste, one of the city’s emblematic buildings is only a few minutes away.

The apartment is spacious and in a classic French style.

The location was great in terms of access to the inner city. It is near lots of faciltiies, shops and food outlets.

It was difficult to find the apartment and the actual street was very narrow and inconvenient. There was no lift and the apartment was on the 3rd floor, this meant carrying suitcases up the three flights of stairs. Very inconvenient. The building was not very secure and the front door very difficult to operate. On arriaal we were asked for cash in Euros which was totally unexpected and should we should have been notified. It seemed very odd given that I have never been asked for cash before. There was confusion at the beginning and the owner instructed me to deposit EUROS into his French bank account from my bank account in Australia This I have never had to do in decadeds of travel. The cost quotes was DZ64,415 which equated to AUD656.00 on the rate of that day (.0096). The owner asked me to pay Euros 450 into his bank account in France which cost me AUD715.00 plus AUD8.00 fee on top. Gererally hotels and accommodation take the credit card and the funds are on the basis of local currency. This cost me AUD67.00 more that I had anticipated for an apratemt that was not very accessible. While is was confortable and clean the payment issue was extremely unnerving. I was aksed by the Algerian Embassy in Australia to write to them and report back on how it all went. I loved Algeria and Algerians but this experience will be reported to the Embassy - it was a blot on our trip. In the end we left a day early because it was too difficult without a lift in the building to get everything to the ground floor and get to the airport in time. Very inconvenient. Having transferred the funds into the account of this person he contacted me whhen I was back in France to say that the funds had not arrived. I sent him a proof of payment but I imagaine these things take time. Could have been settled in 5 minutes if he'd used the Booking.com system and my credit card. As a travel agent I will be letting collegues know about this.

Excellent place, near to a shop, cafe, restaurants as well as government ministries. Very cosy old colonial style appartment with real character and many period features. Works very well for a largish family or two smaller families. Hostess extremely friendly and welcoming. Quite quiet In spite of the very central location.

Intermittent internet and 3 floors to climb with no lift.

It felt like a home; the apartment had character in line with its Mediterranean location. I loved the decor, globes, multi colour lamp shades, spiral candle sticks, African art works. It was comfortable; the ample sized lounge beheld a dining table, a recliner leather a large TV, with plenty of central space to spare. There are balcony’s available to view the active city streets. The kitchen has the most character of all. It is stocked with every apparatus required to prepare and cook food. The apartment has heating and air conditioning units to keep life at the perfect temperature. The bedroom style is a modern, Algerian inspired theme. The walk in wardrobe is immense, storing my accoutrement with ample space to spare. The bed was comfortable, littered with scatter cushions to assist with a lying comfortably before hitting the hay. There is humble sized toilet with a tap operated bidet is located off the hallway. It’s separate from the Hammam themed bathroom that also houses a washer dryer. The shower, tiled, is modern, offering the perfect temperature and pressure. The T-shaped apartment hallway is a wide artery, allowing easy access to aforementioned rooms. Additionally, there is a second lounge room if you need more privacy.

The lighting in the apartment block could be improved to ensure it is even safer to traverse the staircase.
