Hotel Arcadia Locarno, a Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Our stay was absolutely fantastic. We came with two children, a two year old and a 4 month old, and naturally try to book something were all basics are covered. In Hotel Arcadia we were pleaseantly surprised: the rooms were really generous with size, which meant our little one had enough space to play around. The management was quick to offer solutions for our little ones sleeping arrangements. And during the day, the play room was just great. Whenever we needed it, it was accessible with plenty of toys inside so that the children can stay entertained. Finally, the personnel was just delightful. Any time we asked for anything, they were ready to help. In the restaurant, they accommodated special wishes and always asked what they can do to make our dinner and stay better. We left with a great feeling, which is really great when traveling with two little ones.

Now I'm just being picky, really. One night there was an evening event planned, and the restaurant was not operating normally. We grabbed something from the restaurant close by. Maybe it is also worth mentioning, whike the rooms are quite well isolated, the street is pretty loud, and in the night we could still hear a bit from the outside. For light sleepers might be an issue, it was not at all for us.

Very professional and friendly staff and a very good location. Food was excellent and the outside terrace was lovely. Good bedroom and bathroom with balcony view of the lake.

Inside restaurant was a bit soulless but the terrace had a retractable cover so we were able to eat outside even when it rained. Roof terrace could do with an update.

-Super convenient location for transit links (train/bus/funicular) -Very spacious room, almost like an apartment -Nice view of the lakeside from the balcony -Fridge in room very useful for keeping drinks cool -Very effective air conditioning -Quiet during the night (no noise disturbance) -Modern bathroom -Many options at breakfast -Ticino Ticket included with booking

No complaints, but a few small things could be improved: -Some aspects of decor in the bedroom and hallway could be updated/modernized (e.g. carpets) -Coffee machine provided in the room was a little tricky to use -No stocked mini bar in the room (this would be an added bonus) -Few English-speaking TV channels available (Locarno in general caters more for German-speaking guests)

Location, buffet breakfast, bedding, linen, friendly staff.

Requested bath. Housekeeping claimed they didnt get the request. Offered smaller room or more expensive studio. Defective sliding glass door so view spoilt as couldnt see through glass. Heavily stained carpets in public areas. None of usual 4 star toiletries so had to ask housekeeping for shower cap, mini bar empty.
