The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The location (close to Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square) is hard to beat. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the breakfast restaurant and room service is tasty. Most importantly, for such a nice hotel, the value for money is fantastic.
The facilities could use a little updating. It didn’t at all affect my enjoyment or comfort, but a little touch up of the paint, some polish on the fixtures, and a deep cleaning of the carpet would do wonders for sprucing up the appearance of the hotel as it appeared when it opened. They just look a little bit dated, that’s all.

Very central, with excellent breakfast selections.
The staff are very supportive, we met Jason the concierge on our last day who was very thorough indeed with booking our taxi to the airport.
This is a Chinese luxury hotel, cheaper than American chains so good value for money.
It’s a shame that two of the restaurants advertised , the French and the Portuguese were closed.
Leaving just the general dining area that serves the room service menu and the Chinese restaurant in the basement.

Convenient location and large rooms. Room are elegently decorated and clean. There is also a dedicated area for deliveries on the first floor (e.g. meituan orders are placed in lockers).

The hotel is well-located, luxurious, elegant, and tastefully decorated. It's old, but its facilities are showing their age, which is something the management should improve.
It's spacious, photogenic and bustling all the time.
The staff in general, but especially the shift manager and the check-in receptionist. They lack friendliness and, above all, warmth; you can tell they’re tired, they seem unsure of themselves, and they don’t make you feel welcome at any point.
