You’ll be staying in a weaver’s house that’s at least 150 years old, where people earned their daily bread on two looms right up until the mid-1960s. You can relax in the cozy kitchen, which features a large dining table that seats up to 12 people. Our renovated, smoke-free house is a stand-alone property located on a cul-de-sac right on the edge of the forest. Ideal for mushroom hunters and hiking enthusiasts! An extensive, well-signposted network of hiking trails leads you through numerous natural habitats. Deeply carved valleys alternate with gentle highlands, offering beautiful views depending on the season. The Frankenwald Nature Park was awarded the title of the first “Wanderbares Deutschland” quality region in 2015! One of the Frankenwaldsteig trails begins right here at our doorstep. In nearby Schwarzenbach am Wald, Wallenfels, Steinwiesen, or Bad Steben, you can rent e-bikes and explore the Frankenwald in comfort. Stop by rustic inns serving typical Franconian specialties in our Frankenwald culinary region. Bad Steben, about a 15-minute drive away, offers wellness and spa treatments for everyone at its modern thermal baths. In addition to the spa concerts in the historic spa park, enjoy the various healing springs in the drinking hall. A 5-minute drive takes you to the ski lift for downhill skiing, as well as kilometers of cross-country ski trails and the Döbraberg Mountain Bike Center. This is the highest point in the Franconian Forest! (about 800 meters above sea level). The varied landscape offers a climate free of strong winds in one of Europe’s most beautiful low mountain ranges! Rafting played a major role in the Franconian Forest during the last century. This tradition continues with weekly raft trips on the Wilde Rodach. The Schnappenhammer raft landing is just 3 km away. Discover a piece of unspoiled nature free from mass tourism. Our house is child- and dog-friendly and features a fully fenced-in garden with a patio, chairs, a table, a parasol, and a charcoal grill. For children, we provide games, books, and DVDs, as well as two high chairs and a crib. We also have a washing machine, a clothes dryer, and a dishwasher in the house. There are 2 bathrooms in the house. For groups of 5 or more paying guests, both bathrooms are included in the price. If you’re traveling with up to 4 guests, you can book the second bathroom for an additional fee if desired. Simply let us know your preferences when you make your reservation. Note: Upon arrival, we will collect a security deposit of €150.00, which will be refunded within one week after your departure, provided no damage has occurred.
