The Adler has 2 double rooms with balconies, located on the 1st and 2nd floors. The double rooms with balconies range in size from 26 to 29 m². In the double rooms with balconies, the kitchenette is integrated into the living-dining area. However, what sets the double room with a balcony apart from a standard double room is the exclusive balcony, which adds an additional 12 m². The spacious balcony features not only an additional dining area with chairs but also a comfortable armchair for moments of quiet relaxation. The view from your private balcony is even more exclusive than the one from the windows of all other rooms. Enjoy your breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening with a view of Marktstraße, the Old Town, the church, and the market square with its popular weekly market.



The Adler has been welcoming guests since September 1, 2025! It took two years of planning and nearly three years of construction to bring the 18th-century Gasthof Adler back to life. The extensive renovation included a complete overhaul of the entire building, a full extension on the east side, and the addition of a residential floor. On the first, second, and third floors, the Golden Adler invites you to stay high above the historic rooftops of Markdorf. On the first floor, however, a culinary restaurant welcomes you within its historic walls, now shining in new splendor. A former bowling alley in a historic vaulted cellar has been transformed into Markdorf’s “Szenenbar.” A total of 14 one-bedroom apartments, two two-bedroom apartments, and two three-bedroom apartments were created across three floors. The 18 apartments are divided into 6 different categories, which—while offering the same amenities and comfort—differ in room size and layout unterscheiden.as Adler emerged from a traditional inn steeped in history and now combines that heritage with a modern and contemporary concept for young and old alike. Whether for a family vacation, a short city break, or a business trip, we’re rewriting the story of tradition.


We offer our guests the greatest possible comfort and flexibility upon arrival. This means you can enter Das Adler and check into your apartment on your own, without having to worry about opening hours.


For our discerning guests, all apartments combine the comfort of a hotel with the spaciousness of a vacation rental. A private, fully equipped kitchenette, a cozy seating area, and unique decor create a welcoming, home-like atmosphere and offer greater flexibility during your vacation.

The in-house terrace, with a view over the southern part of Markdorf toward Lake Constance and all the way to the mountains, is open to all guests. For guests who want to truly enjoy their vacation, we offer a very special kind of breakfast service. The neighboring Café Harmonie serves a selection of homemade breakfast items.
