Mein eigentlich für den Zeitraum gebuchtes Gästhaus in Luxor hatte kurzfristig am Tage meines Abflugs seine Buchung storniert, so dass ich kurzfristig auf Kaslan Suites aufgrund seiner exzellenten Bewertungen umgebucht habe. Ein Fehler.
Villa Kaslan hat verschiedene Gebäude, unterschiedlich in Lage und Ausstattung. Die kann man unmöglich mit einer Bewertung zusammenfassen und sollten auch einen unterschiedlichen Preis haben.Das neu erstellte, aber zum GH gehörende Nachbarhaus entspricht klarerweise nicht der Bewertung > 9 und kommt an die Qualitäts der Bungalows sowie des andere Gebäudes auf dem Compound heran.
Ja, die Mitarbeiter bzw der Eigner sind, wie eigentlich immer in Ägypten, freundlich, auch bemüht, haben Touren und Hilfe angeboten.
Mir wurde ein großes ein Zimmer Apartment im 4. Stock zugewiesen, zwar mit großer eigener Terrasse, in einem separatem Nachbarhaus, der vor 3 Monaten fertig erstellt wurde, wie mir der Besitzer mitteilte. Das Haus entspricht einem typisch ägyptischen, Betonwohnhaus für ägyptische Familien, das ist keine Ferienwohnung. Der Poolblick war der über die Mauer in Nachbars Garten. Ich fühle mich auf gut deutsch „veräppelt“! So neu und damit in relativ gutem Zustand ist (mein Geschmack ist es nicht, Plastik, Küche siehe Fotos)– es liegt nun mal im Nachbarhaus. Ein kleiner staubiger Weg trennt dieses von dem Compound des eigentlichen, „ur“ Kaslan Gästhauses. Insgesamt habe ich in 20 Jahren noch nie so eine Diskrepanz der Realität zur Booking.com Bewertung erlebt.
KEIN Garten und Pool direkt vor der Tür, sondern einfach ein vierstöckiges Beton Haus an einem mit engen Fluren, einem Fahrstuhl in der Mitte (aber wer mag den nutzen, bei den regelmäßigen Power Cuts?) die es in Luxor gibt. Es roch noch stark nach den Ausdünstungen frisch gestrichener Farbe/Lösungsmitteln oder Klebers, welches mir Kopfschmerzen verursachte. Die Küche, in die ein vollkommen über proportionierter Kühlschrank gequetscht, direkt vor den Lichtschalter, Küche wenig stilvoll, klarer Unterschied zum Nachmalcompound, kaltes Neonlicht. Keine Liegen auf der Terrasse (haben aber die im Haupthaus)
Keine Ablage für das GEpäck oder für Shampoo oder Seife in der Dusche, Fugen in der Dusche nicht ordernlich verputzt, Keine Klinke an der Außentür, daher schwer auf- oder zuzuschließen; Schloss hakelt, wird über nacht abgeschlossen - was macht man bitte im Brandfall, wenn jede Minute zählt?!

Very nice. This was my favorite in Egypt by far. Very comfortable and relaxed and the staff will do anything for you.
The host is very accommodating and really helped me.
Make sure to bring foreign currency to pay in cash.
One of the staff was trying to get me to visit some village of "poor women" which wasn't great because I really hate being "sold" to all the time, especially at my accommodation... but in fairness, when I told him on day 2 that I just wasn't interested he stopped trying..... but on day 3 when I just hung around the accommodation I felt guilty because he could see I was doing nothing.... it would have been better if he just didn't try to sell anything because I felt guilty for not going (even though I shouldnt have to feel guilty on holidays).. same staff guy also tried to over charge me to rent a bike, I got him down to the correct price but he tried to make an extra $10

A very comfortable and clean apartment, and all things are new. The hotel owner is a wonderful person with high morals, and all the staff are helpful and work hard to meet all needs, it's above expectations and worthy of 7 stars.

Des tables à l' abri du vent ou du soleil pour les repas mais qui vous seront servis sur la grande terrasse de votre chambre et ce à toute heure si vous le désirez (pour ceux qui ne veulent pas cuisiner )

La gentillesse et la disponibilité du personnel, Mohamed, Hamad qui m' a transportée sur sa moto pour mes déplacements et courses car il faut le savoir , la villa est à 800 m environ du débarcadère .
Mais à tout moment vous pourrez demander un tuk tuk ou un taxi pour rejoindre les barques pour traverser le Nil (100 LE AR ) vers Luxor ville
Et puis et surtout l' aide inestimable de ABDUL le propriétaire de la villa sans qui jamais je n' aurais pu organiser seule mon voyage sur le Nil en Dahabeyya de surcroît ! mon rêve !
Avec Housman , qui parle français , ils ont pu organiser ce voyage de 4 jours en dernière minute à un prix tout à fait abordable . Puis l' aller et retour à Abusimbel et...
Allez jusqu'à Denderah si vous en avez le temps (1 jour AR) magnifique de couleurs .
Ils peuvent organiser la totalité des visites que vous désirez faire , montgolfière etc ...
Faites leur confiance sans aucun doute , lisez les commentaires des autres voyageurs, ils vous diront la même chose , et les prix proposés sont grandement plus avantageux que dans les circuits classiques , et les mille conseils en plus ...

La struttura è a dir poco favolosa. Immersa nella natura. Uno stabile composto da diversi appartamenti che si affacciano su una bellissima piscina e distese di campi. Il proprietario dello stabile molto gentile e onesto, ci ha aiutati ad organizzare i nostri giri tramite un taxi e una barchetta ai quali ci siamo appoggiati per ogni spostamento.
Lo stabile è nella parte ad ovest del Nilo, molto più degradata rispetto alla zona est. Però sicuramente si vede la vera parte dell’Egitto che noi abbiamo piacevolmente ammirato salendo in 3 sulla moto de proprietario. L’appartamento era bellissimo ma sporco con peli sui cuscini e asciugamano sporche. Abbiamo chiesto una pizza per cena speranzosi, viste le recensioni, di poter finalmente mangiare bene e ci hanno portata qualcosa che sicuramente pizza non era. Per tutta la notte non abbiamo dormito a causa di una puzza di plastica bruciata che entrava dall’esterno. Spero e credo che il nostro sia stato un caso.

I have been in different countries and stayed in different places and Villa Kaslan has been one of the best places I have stayed at. Everything was perfect! All the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. They make sure that you feel at home. The owner Abdul and driver Mahmoud helped us with a very nice day tour to visit all the places we wanted.
The food was also super tasty as we had dinner and breakfast at the Villa and we were very pleased.
The room was very spacious with everything you need for a nice stay. You could see the stars at night from the balcony and in the morning from our room we could see the ballons at sunrise, which was very beautiful.
Definitely a great stay to recommend.
Not having the chance to stay longer and no sufficient time to try the swimming pool which looked very nice.

Everything was perfect! Beautiful apartments and pool, delicious breakfast and dinners, the lovely owner went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay - he helped us to organise day tours, transfers and even got us ice creams from down the road one evening. Thank you very much! Would highly recommend this villa!

The host of the Villa was extremely hospitable. He was able to organise transfers, tours, and even have my clothing delivered to me when we moved hotels. The grounds themselves are extremely lovely with a cute garden and pool. The food is very good (cheers to the chef!)
The Villa is quite far from town in the quiet area (West Bank) with limited access to shops despite there being a kitchen

Very nice hotel with pool and garden, very nice staff and owner. The room is very big, clean and with fan and air conditioner. Breakfast in the garden every morning is really a plus. We had good dinners as well.
Wifi works very well, especially on the rooftop.
The location on the west bank does not let you reach Luxor east bank indipendently as you go out the villa, but it’s just 5 min taxi from the public boats that let you cross the Nile to east bank.

An unforgettable experience, I think it was the best accommodation ever at an extremely good price. Abdul is the man who gets involved in everything and offers you the best travel options and tours. A special man who shows that the time spent in Europe left its mark. The staff are extremely kind and present whenever you need them. The cleanliness and facilities are top 1.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Kaslan. We were treated like princesses by the entire team, as the owner Abdul was so helpful to help us organise our days. He responded to all of our needs, and everyone working there is lovely (special shout-out to Hamada as well!).
The villa and it’s garden looks stunning, and is very peaceful (be ready to hear the birds singing while enjoying the most beautiful sunsets from the terraces).
Food is very good too, with a complete breakfast with fruits, yorgurts, eggs, juices etc.
I can only recommend this place and thanks again to Abdul and the team for welcoming us!

Best stay in our 10-day trip to Egypt. Our room is spacious and spotlessly clean with a nice balcony. Staffs are attentive and helpful. They allowed us to use the washing machine. A pleasant and large courtyard where we had a tasty breakfast. We also had a dinner which was also the best meal in our journey. Their tagin and rice were superb! The tour they offered is fair-priced and the trustful owner gave me detailed tips where to go/what to see. They have very good scores on this website. Now we know why.
Everyone at the hotel was so nice, but the driver they introduced for the tour might not so. He wasn't there once at agreed time though he said that his car got a problem. He tried to sell alabasters which I was not interested in. He brought us to a restaurant as he said, "famous for tagin, every tourist goes there" but seemed to me a little more than a cafe with grossly overpriced menu. We just left there to go back to the hotel for dinner, which turned out to be a right decision. So, don't listen to the driver at all.

Words can’t explain how wonderful our time was at Villa Kaslan. We felt so at home and were so well looked after by the amazing staff - we really did feel like family. The apartments were very spacious with excellent showers and a kitchen. We ate at the restaurant every night and were provided with good home cooked food that was huge in portion size and such good value for money. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time in Luxor! Abdul provided us with information of everything to do on the East and West Bank and helped us organise great value transport and a hot air balloon tour. We did the ‘Egypt experience’ tour on motorbikes which was so fun and a highlight of our trip to Egypt! The views from the rooftop terrace of the banana plantation were stunning. At night it was so calm and quiet - we enjoyed listening to the sound of the birds and farm animals during the day. The community in the village were so friendly happily greeting us as we passed them on our walks to the shops. I would highly recommend this hotel to and hope to one day return. It really does tick all the boxes!

This place thoroughly deserves its 9.9 rating on this site. It is legit. The staff, the service, the location, the facilities... all wonderful.
Note: this place is on the west bank of Luxor, close to the valley of the kings/queens/workers/nobles etc I had previously stayed 5 nights on the east bank, which has its own appeal, but is much busier and full of touts. The west bank is quieter and has far less of the touts and tourist mayhem. It can still be busy and chaotic at peak hour on the main street.
I enjoyed being up early and watching the sunrise over the distant Nile river and surrounding banana plantation. I was fortunate enough to have the top terrace room which had both great indoor facilities (shower, kitchenette etc) but outdoor table for writing/journalling and relaxing, taking in the view.
The food prepared by the restaurant was excellent. I was very fortunate to be here for Christmas Eve dinner which was marvellous, given I was so far away from home.
Staff will organise everything you need at very reasonable prices, even offering lifts to river ferry or anywhere for free if they happen to be going there for other business. Side note: river ferry is 30 minute walk or 5 minute taxi away. I also enjoyed being to walk in the serene countryside early, before the tourist buses arrived, to the Ramesseum, past the Colossi of Memnon etc and enjoy the breath-taking western escarpment.
The place is very secure and safe. The locals are very welcoming.
The village side-road outside can still be noisy with motorbikes so I still used ear plugs.

This was easily our favourite place to stay during our entire trip along the Nile valley. Villa Kaslan arranged a very comfortable transfer for us from Aswan to Luxor, and the driver took us to visit two temples on the way. On arrival we found ourselves walking into a beautifully presented villa with an immaculate swimming pool and a delightful walled garden of flowers, fruit and vegetables, which housed the restaurant. We stayed in one of the two large studio units at the end of the garden. They came complete with kitchen, bathroom and a big wardrobe. The decor was modern, simple and stylish. The beds were large and comfortable with cosy duvets. The air conditioning worked well and the lighting was good. Each studio had their own veranda and roof terrace. The latter offered sweeping views over a banana plantation, a great place to sit and enjoy the sunsets. Do check out the pictures and videos on Google Maps as well as here.
There was excellent fast Wi-Fi throughout the property.
We ate in the restaurant every evening. It is a roofed area open to the garden on two sides that can be closed off with cotton curtains if the breeze is a little cool. There are three large tables and they only cook for their guests. The menu offers a good range and the food is freshly prepared to order. The food is very high quality and it helps that you are eating it in a beautiful outdoor setting. The prices are very reasonable for both, food and drink, including wine and beer. For what we could see it was by far the best place to eat locally.
As for breakfast, it’s large and delicious, with omelette, salad, fresh fruit, falafel, cooked beans, local soft feta cheese, flat bread, yoghurt and cake.
But the best thing about Villa Kaslan is the owner Abdul and his crew. They really look after their guests and care about them. They are a close-knit team and one could sense that they all enjoyed working with each other. It makes Villa Kaslan a relaxed and friendly place to stay.

and you may not get such kind of service even in a 5* Hotel where they personally attend us everytime.
We got the excellent Ballon ride arranged by the team and also Tuk-Tuk was arranged when ever we wanted to cross the Nile and go to ferry port ( 2 kms away).
I would recommend Villa Kaslan more than 100 % to my know people..

Abdul and his whole team (including the two pets) are amazing. They make you feel at home and safe from the moment you arrive. They can arrange a transfer to and from the airport. You don’t have to think what to do and where to go. They have great suggestions and they organised several interesting excursions for us at very fair prices. The food at the restaurant is very good and they even use a water filter for washing vegetables and fruits. The special Christmas dinner was a nice surprise and our daughters enjoyed hanging out by the fire in the evening. You might come to Villa Kaslan as a guest but you leave as a friend. Thank you guys for a great experience!

I had a very nice stay. The room was beautiful, spacious and clean with beautiful views over the fields around. Abdel the owner and his stuff were very attentive and made sure that I have a great stay. I highly recommend the breakfast and dinner. The food is delicious and portions are very generous. Highly recommend the place for the atmosphere, location, hospitality and great value for money!!
