All the people working there were very nice and friendly and helpful. Also the room that I reserved was really nice. I travel a lot and this was one of the nicest rooms in which I have stayed.
It was a little hard to find. The Apple Maps directed me to the back of the establishment where there is no entrance.

Wonderful hotel with a beautiful marrocan interior in the very heart of the old city. Great friendly staff - the women serving breakfast were extremely sweet with a great sense of hospitality and a beautiful energy ! Nora and her assistant at reception were very nice and helpful, they helped us book excursions and taxis. We definitely recommend!
The best hotel in the medina !!!
We loved everything

This size of the room was excellent and the decorations felt very Moroccan. The bed was comfortable and we were able to unpack and make ourselves comfortable. I loved the extra touch of having a robe and slippers to use after my shower. The shower, itself, was very refreshing with a rain shower above and a handheld sprayer. We enjoyed the free breakfast every morning and paid to have an authentic Moroccan meal on one evening. Both were excellent and the service was the best!! Nora, the office staff person, was excellent! She treated us with so much respect and strived to make our and stay the absolute best!! She even checked in with us via WhatsApp to make sure that were were okay and enjoying our time in the city. Thank you Nora!! The only reason that we graded the room down one level was that the we struggled with the air conditioning and getting the room cool in the late afternoon. By bedtime the room was cool enough to sleep comfortably.
We struggled with the air conditioning and getting the room cool in the late afternoon. The room cooled down nicely by sunset and we slept comfortably.

Perfectly nice, and friendly / helpful staff and service, just nowhere near as nice as cheaper places I stayed in Fes
Location was quite noisy, but that's probably inevitable in the medina, and it's a great location in other respoects

Excellent breakfast. Very nice location too in the middle of the old town/medina. If you cannot walk very well, the steep streets, thus the location, are not recommended.
Many floors, no lift. People try to collect as much cash as possible, obviously not at the very best rate.

The hotel was super clean and staff was very accommodating. The manager Noura was exceptionally helpful and made sure all of our demands were met and was available for any questions and recommendations 24/7. More over, the hammam services and the massage was amazing! I’d highly recommend this place
The taxi services provided by the hotel were a bit pricey

In a lovely location in the Medina and great view from the roof. We had a ‘suite’ - really a very large room - that was nicely decorated and lovely large bathroom. Hotel lobby was beautifully decorated as well. Nice to get free water in the room and the staff was lovely and very helpful.
The hotel has an underlying funky smell in the public areas. It is likely due to being an old building with old pipes. They try to mask the smell with perfume or cleaner that makes the whole think worse.
They play the instrumental version of the song ‘My Way’ on a loop in the public area of the hotel which you can hear in the rooms. We were there 3 nights and it was only quiet late in the evening and early morning.
The breakfast was decent and served fresh fruit which is nice, but also the fruit had been prepared in advance and not covered so it was dried around the edges. Many bread items were given and it was too much for people to eat so there seemed to be a lot of waste. They serve eggs so that’s positive for those who eat them.

The staff was outstanding! Nora is a very competent lady and organised a Hamam bath for us when we arrived (the lady that conducted the bath was excellent). Next day Nora had found a guide for us (Adjit). He showed us the Kasbah and the Old Town with its markets.

Very nice Riad, well located and managed. Great breakfast on rooftop terrace. Dinner was delicious too. Noura was very helpful and professional. Recommended!

Wonderful location for exploring the Medina and kasbah. Very nicely furnished (beautiful and well kept spaces with sophisticated and tasteful design elements) with comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. Perhaps the most welcoming feature, however, was the staff, specifically Nora. She made us feel very much at home, and took care of our every need. We were particularly impressed with how clear they were about understanding and accommodating the severe nut allergy we have in our family.

is nice but they charge us a extremely high food ridiculous for a tagine $60
the way they told us they will reimburse last night because we need to leave early and never did

room was lovely, breakfast was good. staff were friendly. lovely views of the city.
The advertised one hour massage is actually later said to be 45 mins plus tea. And both mine and my partners massages were less than 45 mins, which wouldn’t have been so annoying had we been told that at the beginning. One hour massage is one hour massage everywhere else I have been.

Traditional Moroccan breakfast, all breads made by hand in house and they give a selection of both traditional Moroccan and some French pastry. Wonderful breads/pastries.
WiFi is occasionally spotty but still quite good compared to other places in Medina

Dar Chams Tanga was a lovely, tranquil haven in a great location. In particular I loved the library and the terrace, and my room. The new owner (Simon)*, and the women who served breakfast and drinks, were extremely helpful. Breakfast was fabulous.
*The Riad has recently changed hands (no longer the French couple referred to in earlier reviews). Hopefully this means a consistent presence by Simon.
I had a few communication issues with the front desk manager, because I only speak twenty words of Arabic (I do speak English, French and some Spanish), and he spoke only Arabic. This is completely my responsibility, as a guest in Morocco, but I do note that all the guests were overseas visitors, too. I think this was just a hiccup that Simon will quickly resolve. Don't let it put you off.

Clean, comfortable, thoughtfully and beautifully furnished rooms with great hospitality from the staff!
Simo helped us book a taxi in the early morning for our flight and gave us tips and suggestions on places in Tangier to eat and visit during our short stay.
The terrace has a stunning view over Tangier - we wish we had more time in the Dar to enjoy!
We would recommend Dar Chams to anyone looking for a comfortable and lovely place to stay in the Medina of Tangier- we will be back!

Simo and Yousra, the owner of the place, are incredible in their effort to make your stay exceptional. They care deeply and go out of their way to make sure that one has the best possible experience in Tangier. And their staff cares for their clients the same way, very personal, very caring.
The hotel is perfectly located in the medina, right beneath the Kasbah. Entering the hotel took our breath away, so tasteful, taken care of with so much love; the two terraces offer a - again breathtaking - view of the harbor and Tangier (see my pics). It's truly a home away from home.
Couldn't think of anything!

excellent location, friendly and helpful staff arranged tour guide and transportation. Rooms are lovely and very comfortable. There is a beautiful rooftop with tables and chairs where an elegant breakfast is served and you can request drinks as well. The view is magnificent.
Nothing, however guests should be aware that there is no elevator and steps must be climbed to rooms.

Simon and his staff were extremely hospitable and welcoming. They accommodated our last-minute change of plans and still managed to supply our room with every commodity you could imagine. My only regret is that I did not book our stay for longer. The terrace has a beautiful view of Tangier, and the included breakfast is lovely. Roms get awesome water pressure and air conditioning. Everything is super clean, smells amazing, and the staff thought of every amenity possible. Extremely kind and helpful staff

Design, authenticity and location with total comfort and excellent climate control. Great rooftop breakfast with an expansive city and sea view. The French owner, Michelle, is a charming hostess and certainly went out of her way to make me feel at home.

Dar Chams Tanja is in the heart of Medina and steps away from the Kasbah. The Hotel arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport who knew the location in the winding Medina alleys and directed us to the Hotel entrance. We hired the same driver to take us on a day trip to Chefchaouen and he was great. Upon arrival at Dar Champs Michele, the owner, greeted us and offered us Moroccan tea at the beautiful and traditionally decorated lobby. She gave us useful information about the city. Our room was elegantly decorated, with modern amenities and tasteful furniture. The daily breakfast at the rooftop terrace was lovely and the service was excellent.
